Everybody should know that you must not touch your model without permission, and I highly recommend to have people around during the shoot (mua/hair/stylist/assistant or other). Very important.

I'm always trying to figure out how to pose other than laughing and looking in the corner. Any tips on posing without smiling. I feel like my eyes or mouth always look weird.
its not about how to pose a friend who not model , its all about , she or he willingly to do the pose or not.. cause i had a lot of trouble with that ... one time i asked them to do this or that.. they said nah.. i feel wierd and kind of stuff,,.. and i ended up asked my self.. then why you guys want to do the shoot if you dont want to do the pose...
yeah thats super true. not all people are going to be cool with more intricate poses. If they're uncomfortable or unwilling to do it, it's okay. You can always try it with another friend or model
I'm like a pretty tall guy standing at 5'5"....but these people I photograph are always....always.....at least 5'6"

Don't worry if you didn't get the curves right on your shoot. You can still do a curves adjustment in post process.
