Beautiful drone footage, land footage, sea footage all beautifully edited and complimented by great music. I love the RAN Sailing style of videography and story telling. It is relaxing, entertaining, fun, and inviting. I look forward to watching the entire series as well as keep up with the newer content. Well done you two!
Excellent video. I really like it that you are stopping in towns/cities that I have never heard of. I'm much more intrigued by the places that are less traveled. The two of you tell a great story. Which is what all of our lives should be about.
Wow, great video of the Spanish fish market, and your fish soup just looked delicious... All round thumbs up for great sailing, fantastic drone work and making an old man happy, wishing he was 30yrs old again⛵️
Wow! Well done. The videography is wonderful. The drone shots AWESOME!! You guys rock! The cooking made me hungry and looked delicious. Keep up the good work.
+ga3ch Thanks a lot! We really like to use the drone. It's not very often we get the chance to use it though. Either it's to windy or to cloudy. We hope we can make some aerial footage of RAN sailing in the future (without crashing) :-) Take care!
Such a beautiful view of the older Spanish community mixed with a more modern city scape, it is just so great to see! Some great clarity in both drone and regular videos, the pictures of the Spanish sites and your sailing are just great. Thank you for all that you do!
Entertaining, informative and very well made -- a magic combination and a great way to start a Monday. Epic drone shots that put many big-budget TV productions to shame too. Thanks again to you both. Oh, and so laid-back, as always ;-)
+Stephen Mundane Thanks a lot Stephen! We're glad if we can give a good start of your week. Right now we are in Baiona, close to the Portuguese border, for some repairs. We've broke our hoyt bom outside Cape Finnistere. So now we have to wait for some parts before we can continue south. Thanks for watching!
I'm enjoying the videos. It's a nice mix of sailing and sightseeing. I'm glad to see it getting a little warmer for you. Happy sailing and safe travels.
Wow great camera work, great music and the narration is spot on. I really like that you have avoided the wind sound on the microphone. This is the way to film a travel video. Real professional work.
Your videos are so great and enjoyable! I love your style and music taste! Most of all I love what you choose to show us from all the places you visit - I feel like you show us very unique things, and really live the lifestyle of the places you visit, even though you don't get to stay for too long. Not tourists, but true travellers -- so great! (& I really loved seeing you buy the fish and then cook with it!) I feel like I am actually learning and experiencing with you two, which is amazing to do with video! Much appreciation for your channel and quality content! Sending love and good vibes from Eastern Canada!
+Kate Martin Hi Kate! Thank you so much for your fine comments! You're describing exactly what we want achieve with our videos. We're glad you like it! :) Happy to have you along and for leaving a comment! Take care. All the best, Malin and Johan
I am valiantly watching the videos from the beginning. I'll be glad when you take your coats off. Pretty good so far. I am so glad you have persisted in your publishing. Thanks you!
+funNstuff with the Foxwells Thank you! Yeah is wasn't easy to fly with the drone this time because the sea gulls were trying to attack it all the time!
+paul strattone Hello Paul! Yes the seas are often quite massive here in Galicia. It's very rewarding to sail here though, it's really beautiful! Thanks for watching and take care!
I'm just a want to be sailor, and just found your channel. I watch a lot of sailing vids. I really like the way you guys edit in so much of the beautiful landscapes. That said... i could just look at your boat all day. Very unique. Its just gorgeous. Really nice job.
I sailed into La Coruna six years ago and the hospitality in the club nautico was wonderful as was the city. We then sailed around to Camarinas where again we found great hospitality and a great yacht club. Be sure to visit the Ria's and the ille de Cies!
+G Mac Yes, the people we've met so far in Spain has been really friendly! Right now we are in Baionna, for some repairs. Sadly we broke our hoytbom outside Cape Finnestere in high winds the other day. If we get RAN ready in time we will definitely try to visit Cies. We heard it really beautiful! Thanks for watching!
Well, another awesome video! you have picked some real scenic places to stop on your trip...I can't wait to see the next one!....oh, and the seagull following your drone was pretty funny!
+S/V LO-KEE Thanks! The seagulls really hate our drone. It's same every time we fly it close to the sea. It takes a couple of minutes and then theres a big mob of seagulls screaming for drone blood. :-)
I am so amazed and impressed by your submissions and I find them hypnotic. You have skills that are only found in major film productions. There is never an awkward moment and they just flow. So beautiful and I thank you for your resolve to produce such great work. I know I seem to be over doing the compliments but I truly do mean every word. You should be proud of yourselves. Again, thank you for sharing your genius and your adventures:)
I just found your channel recently and have been watching this series from Ep. 1. I will have to say you have very good music mixed in with the videos, one of the best sound tracks I've heard lately on youtube! The videos have been great to watch, hope to watch all of them in the next week!
+Two aboard Tuuli Yeah, it will be interesting to try it out. I think it's from the 90's something, but it looks ok... Thanks for watching and take care!
+Two aboard Tuuli Yes, thats whats we are going to do. We only hoist the gennaker furler when we think the are going to sail downwind. Even so, not as sexy as a IMOCA racer... :-)
Love your videos. I hope to start my own soon: refitting my old boat, learning to sail, and exploring through sailing as you're doing. Thanks for the inspiration! -Tim
Absolutely breathtaking, All of it, wow, just Wow!!! there are just no words to describe it. i must go and experience it for myself!! Oh my gosh... I would so love to give to you guys through patreon! If i were not without a job I so would! You live and breath my dream of sailing around the world as you do...... (After finishing this video) You so inspire me to make better of myself and give inspiration to many other as you also do!!! Many thanks and love to you!!!
Thanks a lot for your kind words Curtis! Just watching our videos is also supporting! :-) I hope you also get out there some day sailing! We definitely recommend the cruising life! :-) Take care!
Following RAN for some time now! But only a few days ago i started from first episode! At this episode... that stew of fish and sea food made me forget all the sailing content!!!! That stew looks really goood! Bet i tasted even better :) Cesar
Been folowing ^^the old sea dog”” and you guys have been in a few of his videos ,,, So here i am following you guys from the start and i must say from what ive seen you guys A good Down to Earth couple out to enjoy life,,,,looking forward to following you adventure :)
Ahh, Portugal next 👍😆 very nice people the Portugese, super friendly, good seafood aswell and a beautiful country with very clean beaches. Your going to like it there, you must try their white fish dishes with what we Dutch call "Kabeljauw" but the Portugese name is very similar it's a must and you won't regret it . Great video again you guy's thumb's up 👍.
ThatDuchGuy: do you mean codfish (bacalhau) when you refers to 'white fish'? If so, be careful RAN because you will love it or you will hate it ;) RAN: when would you arrive to Portugal and where you will be moored? Keep the good work and fun ;) cheers!
Leonardo Ascenso Yes,...that's it ! The taste of Swedish and Dutch is quite similar so i'm sure they will love your Portugese Bacalhau, in Dutch "Kabeljauw" indeed in English "Codfish", although the spelling is different in Dutch, the pronunciation is very similar only the "B" and the "K" sound at the start differs but the rest of the pronunciation is the same. Great country you have, greetings from the Kingdom of the Netherlands 👍😆.
+Winded Voyage Thanks a lot Alex! We really seem to have the same taste in music :) We have given up on royalty free music now and it's so much easier to find good music. We watched your latest episode yesterday and it was great! Gonna leave a comment as well! :) Take care
I love watching your series because you are at sea visiting places I hope to visit someday. Still stuck at the harbor in France until I get my license. A bit frustrating, but it's giving me time to prepare and get to know the boat. Hoping for May launch. Meanwhile I have a sailing class tonight. Preparatory test exam. Watching your travels is also good learning. Thanks!
+Winded Voyage It must be frustrating that it take so long time to get the license. But you're getting there and may is not far away! Good luck on the exam!
Why does everyone the world over have to wear a Yankees hat when the Boston Red Sox hat is soooo much nicer...;) Great looking couple of weeks and dig the new sheet...must also be very nice to get out some shorts once in awhile! Good Luck guys and thanks for sharing...having a fun ride along!
The way you shoot and edit your videos is very well done. I could watch your vids for hours. Do you have plans to sail to the tropics any time soon? Also, that bouillabaisse looked wonderful! I really enjoy watching what people cook on their sailboats and it looks like Ran has a very talented cook aboard. Now I'm starving so I guess I'm off to eat a hotpocket and a pickled egg :/
+Peeps We're planning to cross the Atlantic after the summer or in the fall and we will go to Brazil first and then probably sail north to the Caribbean. But we haven't decided yet :) Well, thank you! The Bouillabaisse turned out delicious :) Thank you so much for the compliments and for watching! Cheers
+Robert Rafter That's a dream for us! We just need to be brave enough to do it. I guess the main problem will be landing it safely before the battery goes dead. :-) Hopefully we will get an opportunity in the future. Thanks for watching!
+Scott Crockett The seas in the north of Spain is often very rough, especially this time of the year. Malin has been ok for the last couple of legs which is great. She's been using some Scopoderm patches if we now it's going to be rough and they are really working. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your marvellous videos. As an Australian viewer it is great to see your side of the world and makes a nice change to all of the Caribbean videos I have watched. I looks like you have previous experience in filming and editing videos. Do you both do the filming and editing? Well done!
Thank you! We like that our videos show the east Atlantic and the more northern seas. It sure is different from the Caribbean. Thanks for the compliment, but we don't have any prior experience in filming and editing. I, Malin, do the editing and we both film. I have always liked photographing and filming and have just learnt by doing :) Take care!
Exceptionally beautiful videos. I would love to know what equipment you use - both images and sound are impeccable. I'm so pleased to have found your channel, and very much look forward to following along on your journeys. Thank you for sharing!
+Kazooka Thank you for your nice compliments! We're using a Panasonic G7 with a 14-140mm lens, a GoPro Hero 3+ and a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone. For sound we use a Rode mic with a dead cat on when it's windy. So far we're happy with the gear. Thanks for watching!
Great videos, some of the best I've seen on RUclips on sailing. Mostly one's see's poor quality low interest level and badly edited. I like the change of music scenery to suite the location, over looked by many. What did you guys do work wise before the trip? You only touched on a small part of the pre voyage history. Look forward to seeing many more
+john wheatley Thanks John! At the moment we only use 1080p. We would really like to do 4K, but it's eating away to much on our storage space and takes forever to upload. Maybe in the future... Thanks for watching!
+Andrew B Thanks Andrew! We have no plans other than to sail down to the Canaries and after that crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean or to South America. :-) Thanks for watching!
+Sailing Madrigal Thanks! With the surroundings here it's quite easy to get good shoots with the drone. :-) We use a Phantom 3 Advanced. We are really happy with it. The only thing we miss is an extra battery... Take care!
Quick question, at 7:05 above the building in the night sky what look like stars are moving quickly. Pollen of some kind, Cottonwood cotton? Thanks, and another great video. I can't believe the quality. Everyone seems to use 1080p but yours are crystal clear!
I think it's the light from the building that can be seen as flashes on the sky, but I'm not sure :) We are very pleased with our camera. We can really recommend! /Malin
Oh yum! Any chance you can send the recipe for that soup? Looks delicious! Love your videos! I like watching the progression of the cold season to the warmer! I can sense the relief :) My wife and I are currently preparing to travel via sailboat around the globe. We hope to leave November 2018 if all goes well!
+Wayne Davidson Thanks Wayne! Northern europe has quite ok prices in the marinas, not like the med. The prices now during winter has ranged between free and 25€ a night. So not to bad! You could anchor in a lot of places, but because we have been sailing during wintertime we decided that we had to treat ourself with some luxury. We will start to anchor as soon as we get down to more settled weather. Thanks for watching!
Love your videos! Tremendous job!!!
+Mark Ogden Thanks Mark!
Started watching this and have started from episode one, love it.
I am subscribed to many sailors but yours is my favorite. Thanks..love from Seattle!
+thx1168 What a nice compliment! Thanks for watching. I hope we get to visit Seattle some day with RAN! Take care

+Keyser Soze That's a good thing about sailing, you come to places you maybe wouldn't have visit otherwise. Thank you so much! Cheers
The COAST OF DEATH seems anything but if a little wet. Ure videography gets better each episode. Be safe and keep the vids coming. Fair winds mates.
+Thomas Sparrow Galicia is wonderful! Thank you so much! Take care, cheers
Wow, great video of the Spanish fish market, and your fish soup just looked delicious... All round thumbs up for great sailing, fantastic drone work and making an old man happy, wishing he was 30yrs old again⛵️

I'm enjoying the videos. It's a nice mix of sailing and sightseeing. I'm glad to see it getting a little warmer for you. Happy sailing and safe travels.
Thanks for the feedback Christine! Cheers!
Wow great camera work, great music and the narration is spot on. I really like that you have avoided the wind sound on the microphone. This is the way to film a travel video. Real professional work.
+499PUCK Our dead cat for the mic was a good investment. :-) It's often windy by the sea... Thanks for watching! Take care
Another great video. Thanks for sharing and fair winds to continue your adventure!
+Mark Pearson Thanks for watching Mark! Take care
Thanks for sharing so awesome views from my city La Coruña. I loved it!
Excellent filming.

You are producing amazing work here. Awesome stunning visual images and really wonderful stories! Thanks for sharing!
+Sean T Thanks a lot Sean! Glad you liked it! Cheers
Thanks for taking us along.
Every episode I have been trying to figure what it is that's fitted to the port bow until this episode. What a brilliant idea for a bow sprit!!
I am valiantly watching the videos from the beginning. I'll be glad when you take your coats off. Pretty good so far. I am so glad you have persisted in your publishing. Thanks you!
the clearness of the video is amazing. And what an interesting place the coast of death is. I was fascinated and will watch the rest of your videos.
Thank you Nick!
great drone photography, really enjoyed seeing the town.
+Sean ”SV Inopii” Thompson Thanks a lot Sean!
Thank you for such incredible videos. Well done
Great work guys.. Love the gulls chasing the drone...
+Sailing with SV Wild Hare Thanks! Everywhere we go the gulls go nuts when we bring out the drone. The really hate it! :-)
Great work guys. Love the drone shots, that first one with the gull following was so cool.
+funNstuff with the Foxwells Thank you! Yeah is wasn't easy to fly with the drone this time because the sea gulls were trying to attack it all the time!
Great video guys and good music, especially Cripple crow! Looking forward to see Portugal where I'm from. fair winds.
+Mario Bailout Thanks Mario! We're now in Baiona for some repairs, so soon we are in Portugal. :-) Take care and thanks for watching!

+paul strattone Hello Paul! Yes the seas are often quite massive here in Galicia. It's very rewarding to sail here though, it's really beautiful! Thanks for watching and take care!

:)
great shots again, well done!
Such a great trip, thank you.
+Jethro B Thanks!

Love the videos. And I must say, I am quite jealous! Live the dream.. enjoy.. see it all while you can.
Haha...I never would have guessed that would happen!
My husband and I own a Jeauneau Sun Odyssey 349 that we live on in Canada. I would like to know if RAN is insulated and how do you find the froli bed system? I used a different method last winter...I put insulated sub-flooring tiles under the matress and it reduces the wet matress by about 90% but it's not a perfect solution. This winter I will experiment with another plan I came up with so I'm anxious to see how that works. I am also going to use a dehumidifier this year. Again, thank you for sharing your genius and your adventures:)
love! love! your svlogou :) you guys truly seem to capture the feel, where ever you go.
thank you
thank you
thank you :)

+campbub Wow, that was a really nice compliment! :-) Thanks for watching and sharing! Take care
I just found your channel recently and have been watching this series from Ep. 1. I will have to say you have very good music mixed in with the videos, one of the best sound tracks I've heard lately on youtube! The videos have been great to watch, hope to watch all of them in the next week!
Great video guys!
+Kirk Beaumont Thank you!
The Gennaker looks really good! And so does the rest of your video :)
+Two aboard Tuuli Yeah, it will be interesting to try it out. I think it's from the 90's something, but it looks ok... Thanks for watching and take care!
+RAN Sail
+RAN Sailing Hi is it just me or ws it flying backwards or inside out?? Great videos though been enjoying them all
+RAN Sailing Can you actually hoist and drop the furled Gennaker like they do on the IMOCA raceboats? That would be pretty sexy :D
+Two aboard Tuuli Yes, thats whats we are going to do. We only hoist the gennaker furler when we think the are going to sail downwind. Even so, not as sexy as a IMOCA racer... :-)
That fish stew looked delicious! Well done once again!
+S/V Southern Lady It was perfect! :-) Thanks for watching!
Love your videos. I hope to start my own soon: refitting my old boat, learning to sail, and exploring through sailing as you're doing. Thanks for the inspiration! -Tim
Thanks Tim! We wish you all the luck with your boat! Take care and fair winds

Wonderful videos, very nicely done. I think I would have to stay in Spain just to eat across the country. HA! :-)
the bouillabaisse looked wonderful. bet it was delish.
+Tom Edgar Thanks! It was really tasty!
The auto-tacking jib and retractable bowsprit make for an interesting sail setup.
Lovely video!
+mystafied m Thank you!
wow, what a nice camera work! Good job! Fair winds to you guys!
+Dima B Thanks a lot! Cheers
Hot damn, that's some pretty sick aerial footage(!)
+Casper Børretzen Thanks Casper! With the surroundings here it's quite easy to get really nice shoots with the drone. Glad you liked it! Take care
I have enjoyed your videos.
Excellent vid, that fish soup looked spectacular.
+jwrappuhn71 Thanks! It was delicious :)

+Vaughn Herren Thanks Vaughn!
Well done once again. Seems like you got to use some great Manu Chao & Metronome tracks. The drone shots are stunning. Good sailor and pilot!
+Winded Voyage Thanks a lot Alex! We really seem to have the same taste in music :) We have given up on royalty free music now and it's so much easier to find good music. We watched your latest episode yesterday and it was great! Gonna leave a comment as well! :) Take care

Your vlogging skills are amazing!!!
great videos n happy travels. buying all that fish tho, living on a sail boat
Oh wow, that seafood chowder!
No more sea sickness I see? It was looking very rough when you were getting out. Great video, such beautiful scenery!

Look forward to seeing many more
Another fabulous video story telling....
The drone footage was epic....
Btw - Are you shooting in 4k ? The clarity is amazing !! Safe journey
+john wheatley Thanks John! At the moment we only use 1080p. We would really like to do 4K, but it's eating away to much on our storage space and takes forever to upload. Maybe in the future... Thanks for watching!
subscribing , great videos
Welcome and thanks for subscribing!
Thank you... I have really enjoy watching your video's.. I'm look forward to seeing more.. Where do you hope to end up?
+Andrew B Thanks Andrew! We have no plans other than to sail down to the Canaries and after that crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean or to South America. :-) Thanks for watching!
Awesome video again. Beautiful coast. What kind of drone do you use? Thanks
+Sailing Madrigal Thanks! With the surroundings here it's quite easy to get good shoots with the drone. :-) We use a Phantom 3 Advanced. We are really happy with it. The only thing we miss is an extra battery... Take care!
In summer this place is packed with tourists.
/Malin
Is your motor working again? If not, how do you navigate marinas? Great videos!
Oh yum! Any chance you can send the recipe for that soup? Looks delicious!
Love your videos! I like watching the progression of the cold season to the warmer! I can sense the relief :) My wife and I are currently preparing to travel via sailboat around the globe. We hope to leave November 2018 if all goes well!
Johan; Those may be the whitest legs I've seen in sometime...You need to get south fast!!(; 0
Great video guys...Thanks again!
+Dennis Stewart Haha! Yeah, I guess it's time for some warmer weather by know. :-) Thanks for watching Dennis! Take care
How do you get the camera shots while sailing from underneath the boat?
I guess a GoPro with water proof housing.😀
The both of you could've saved some money if you'd brought a couple of fishing poles with you, lol.
Great video! What was the name of that plant you found?
+Mathieu Jolin Thanks! Malin is crazy about flowers and plants. She found some eucalyptus trees and had to bring some of it to the boat... :-)
Beautiful scenery, and fun to see more of your boat. IS it expensive to tie up in the harbors in Europe? Are there any good places to anchor?
+Wayne Davidson Thanks Wayne! Northern europe has quite ok prices in the marinas, not like the med. The prices now during winter has ranged between free and 25€ a night. So not to bad! You could anchor in a lot of places, but because we have been sailing during wintertime we decided that we had to treat ourself with some luxury. We will start to anchor as soon as we get down to more settled weather. Thanks for watching!
Such a beautiful country with such cruelty towards animals at its heart
