I have a lifetime pass to all Maryland parks, including Sandy point so cost is not an issue. You also don't have to sit in line if you have a kayak or boat. you go to the right lane. I just don't like the lack of choice is the fish on the Chesapeake. perch and striper is all I ever see.
Dont they offer that pass only to a select age group if I remember correctly? I could be wrong I havent been back since they stop boat rentals. I agree Chesapeake VA is much better
Man, you really have it out for Sandy Point in this video. I'm also mixed about this place - I can catch small spot/perch but nothing sizeable though. That snag monster is a lot to deal with. At least it's still open for 24/7 fishing (I think).
Yeah that's why I waited until it got cold to come here then unfortunately got hit by the seafood festival. Good crabbing though but not worth it during peak season
Love your channel seen most of the local Md vids, on this video did you have any luck with your high low surf rods that were in the rod holders?? you did most of your fishing with the other rod? Also I'm going to be going down there with a simple Hi-Lo rig and a surf rod just throwing it out as far as I can would you suggest circle hooks or J Hooks also what type of bait would you say to use just to let my bait soak and sit, and what weight sinker? Thx in advance subscriber here. Ken
That day I didn't have luck but if you watch the guy next to me caught a small rock using cut bunker/alewive from anglers. The current is strong there even though it doesn't look it. Snags as well. Definitely throw 4+ oz. The bigger your bait the more weight you need to hold bottom. Around this time I would expect you to get catfish and rockfish (rocktober). Use inline hooks (non offset) people have been getting tickets lately for offset hooks.
Ive caught puppy reds back in the days off a boat. Flounder, not personally. Definitely further south of the bay bridge towards VA in solomons island or Chesapeake beach
@@ZephyrFishing How about Quiet Waters? I am just googling "Fishing Piers" with easy access lol. My son is new to saltwater fishing. Trying to go to every spot you've gone to, except Florida lol.
Everything I used is linked in bio. Dont forget to turn on 4k HD
@M5 ' thank you, and good luck 🎣
Subbed! Really appreciate the map on where to fish at the end. I'm new to fishing so thanks for not gatekeeping the location.
No worries 🎣
I remember cooking spot fish in the open fire and sprinkle some course salt and it was so delicious! That was 30 years ago.
That's all you need!! 🤤
I go here!
Nice you catching ?!
@@ZephyrFishing No I dont fish here. I do fish at ponds lakes and stuff not here but sometimes i go to this area!
We call rockfish striper
You must be from California im assuming?
If you want to eat fish you need to be at least four hours away from Washington DC and that’s going down south
The bay isnt that bad in my opinion compared to DC
I caught a flounder at that dock at sand point over the summer
Very nice 💯
I been there before last year
Howd you do?

Are those perch good eating?
Very good baked. Or if you fillet them all put it in a blender fish ball soup 🔥
What month did you go fishing for this vid? Thanks!
Should be good now

go further to the left from the point and catch all the Catfish and Rock fish you want HUGE
@@BigToe1313hey bro, you mind telling me where exactly that place is? Always wanted to catch huge rock fish.
Thanks
You got it 👍
At SPSP Mid October, night time with cut bunker is what I normally use to get those Rockfish
Rocktober is here!!! Just hard to make videos at night. I also hate Sandy Point 😖
Thanks for sharing.
Of course, no problem 👍
What bait were you using, I live 20min from Sandy point
Lugworms

I always thought it was for dogs and kayak launches. But I'll check it out maybe. Dont want no Darren & Karens yelling at me
What kind of bait you using for spot?
That day I was using lugworms
