The issue with this club stems from so many avenues it's not even funny. Apologies for the lengthy writeup.
Firstly coaching and selection:
Does Matthew Nicks know we’ve got a young midfielder named Billy Dowling who was drafted as a midfielder, play the entire season in the midfield at SANFL level yet to attend a centre bounce and play as a midfielder in our 1’s. He has been having a real crack in two losing games yet hasn't been rewarded with any midfield minutes.
Nick's loves playing people out of position, Schoenberg who was drafted as a mid play as a high half forward. Pedlar play as a high half forward with minimal midfield minutes. Previously played a second gamer who is an outside mid/winger who with time can play off the half back and is the future of our club in Curtin on a bigger bodied experienced forward in Ah Chee who killed the kids confidence in the span of ten minutes. Nicks set him up to fail and we haven’t seen him since.
Relying on the same people with nil inclusions of younger talent. I do feel for Brodie Smith, has been an exceptional talent for the club and given his all, he doesn't deserve any of the hate he has received. But his time is unfortunately up in the AFL. Same can be seen with Laird who had 30 junk possessions with nil damage done either by hand or foot. The saying goes that you can polish a turd for as long as possible, end result is still a turd. Playing Murphy, Mchenry, Jones, Laird, Borlaise etc. hasn't worked in 5 years, why are you still trying to persist when we know the result.
There is talent in our list, play that talent. Play Curtin, Ryan, Taylor who have the potential to really bring something to the top team.
Finally our draft history:
2016: Pick 15 Galluci, pick 44 Poholke
2017: Pick 40 McPherson
2018: Pick 9 Jones, pick 16 Mchenry,
2019: Pick 6 McAsey, pick 24 Schoenberg, pick 42 O'Connor
There is your issue. Ogilve is one of the luckiest men alive to remain in a high paying secure job, who, based on performance should be shown to the door.
Reid should have been thrown out years ago as his list management has been deplorable. Payed overs for Gibbs, let players leave as he is as resilient as a wet flannel. Was willing to pay a ridiculous amount for Petty who isn't even cutting it at Melbourne and if to be believed pay an injury prone Elliot Yeo a massive sum of money to finish his career at the club. It's almost like Reid goes through some highlights clips from the AFL a couple years ago and picks out players from brief moments of brilliance.

Mate, 99% of the supporter base (plus journos/media) have been saying this for too long. Apparently we're all wrong & the club is right. We didn't have the cattle around 2020 when the rebuild commenced. Luckily we now have some decent young potential for the midfield. They really have to just swallow their pride & start the process again, even if we get belted. At least we've rebuilt the back line, acquired Rankine, and will have an elite Dawson for a couple more years.
PERSPECTIVE: Sydney against Top 8 teams this year . Beat:

Adelaide were winning for the majority of the match

Nicks is a horrible head coach, regardless of last nights results. anyone that knows footy understands why
Serious question for the club.If Grundy was rucking for the Crows last night would be interesting? I don't understand why over the last number of years ,they haven't recruited another ruckman? Either draft young one ,who would be ready now or recruit an experienced one who can tap ruck and mark around the ground consistently.....
28.6 % win loss ratio heading into the 5th season. Whole club needs a colonoscopy starting at the top. Hawthorn and the Roos are looking better than us. Stevie Wonder could see what’s going on with particularly the recruitment and coaching staff. Start the PicoPrep ASAP

Another makeshift midfielder with Max and a pure mid Dowling just 0 minutes in the mids is mind boggling. Centre clearances were a joke and just keep rolling out the same midfield.

Didn't watch the game. Thank f*** for that. Watched the highlights. We're so slow. No Crow pressure , no Crow come back after 2nd quarter. This group is lost , under Nicks. Its not our DNA . For years it was ruthless defense. Ive never seen this team play this bad. The confidence is shot. Ive been watching highlights of 2016 , 2019 seasons. Wow what a difference. This just exposes Nicks for what he really is. With the last part of the season its all Top 8 sides. They wont win another game I hate to say. We're a step up from North Melbourne in the scheme of things. I hope the board make some decisions in the off season. Some individuals need to go for how poor the standard has become.
When the camera move on to nicks he never seems to be doing anything not on phone making changes just sitting watching. Why does he never seem to be taking action.

🤦♂️ Can we please get a coach who can actually recognise game situation.. nicks does it every week. Hes just to easy to outsmart. Hes not the coach the club thinks he is, he doesnt even know how to play most of our young talent. He leaves players in bad matchups when its easy to see something needs to change mid game. Poor Keanes confidence would be shatterd just like young curtains was weeks ago
I’ll take anyone else. Hell, bring me Ken Hinkley at least we’d make finals once in a while

Nicks is now officially out of his depth and out of ideas. We hear the same crap in every post game interview. This club is broken.
Hearing Nicks talk doesn’t give me any confidence for the next few years. I simply don’t think this guy has what it takes to coach at this level. Nicks save yourself from the sack and step aside.
This club needs a complete reboot and it starts with the whole coaching panel and our awful recruiters. Yes we’ve picked up a few decent players but they are all gonna get sick of losing and leave for a Victorian team as soon as they are able.
If Nicks is coaching next year I won’t be renewing my membership. It’s funny how coach’s have had “The full support of the club” then been sacked

Crows need to have a Modra so spend your money and find some better/experience players, you have gone after too many young kids. Nix needs to get our players to cover their men better. Glade we have Dawson he is a great leader and a great pick up, Need more talls. Get back to the bench Nix.

Another coaching shambles by mr disasterclass nicks, this team has somehow gone backwards since last season, yes the list indeeds more talent but its clear as day nicks isn’t the guy and change is required. Sack nicks now and start fresh after the bye and build into 2025.
