- This works for the 2nd generation Cadillac CTS with an aux & USB port located in the center console. This is the simplest way to stream music via Bluetooth in my opinion.
Just bought a 2012 CTS and came to realize I can’t play music via Bluetooth. What a shame especially for Cadillac!!!! Even the cheapest average cars can stream via Bluetooth these days
Correct, as you said "these days", you have a 2012, it's 2021! No offense, I'm in the same boat. Real bummer
@@mygt8a4re None taken but since it can connect a cell phone you would think you could at least stream music from the phone. I had a 2013 Lincoln just 1 year newer that was so much more decked out technology wise. It has Bluetooth, color changing interior lights and touch sensitive/slide controls for radio, climate control etc. I love the Cadillac body style tho so 🤷🏻♀️
@@shygirl1321 I know exactly what you mean. I've been so tossed between a couple vehicles for this same exact reason. One has the looks and the other the technology.
Bought a slightly less complicated version but it's the same concept. Thanks for the vid man, stupid that the radio can't do this by default.

I originally thought my phone was just stupid seeing as it didn’t like connecting to my moms van. No, it’s just the Bluetooth feature doesn’t allow for music.
So happy I found the miccus mini jack RX on eBay after a year searching for my Cadillac CTS lord they hard to find I snatched it up as it was in 3 others cart ,well maybe In another year or so will pop up for someone else to purchase why are they difficult to find I wonder
Yeah that Bluetooth works. I have a 2012 CTS Luxury (no USB) so I needed something to hookup my phone instead of the jack cord. The device does the job. Cordless music play from my phone and I can make calls. (No USB - decided by the same idiot who installed the Air Bag light that stays on constantly)
So you can play music directly from your phone using an aux cable connected to the car? I have a 2011 cadillac cts.
Can you still answer calls while connected to that? Thank you for the video btw.
Yes you can. Works great.
Hey Matt. Got a 2014 CTSV. Had an adaptor guessing someone snag it? Anyway I have an 10x iPhone..... just get this set up and Bluetooth in thru the aux input on the stereo and I’m off and running... I was looking for the adaptor model # I had before but I like this version better .... wireless... I hope it’s reliable.
Again, thx for the VID!
Here you go bud....

J. Mathew Thanks!
Does it hurt your battery leaving it plugged in all the time?
No, the power to shuts off when the car does or after 10 mins of shutting the car down.
does this work on the 2011 cts ???
Grimey 1z47 as long as you have the AUX port it will work.
Use this:

Excellent video!! That said.........I’m a little lost. If it has an “AUX” feature why not just buy an $8 cord and call it a day?? You can plug one end into the phone and the other into the auxiliary input. If the car featured only has USB inputs then I can see the reason for this adapter but for the majority of cars built before 2012-15, if they have an “AUX” option chances are there’s a 3.5mm input jack floating around the car somewhere.
by the way, your left front tire is low on air.
thanks never knew always some douche
well I ain't the one lettin air outta yo tire. I just clicked on this video because I'm f'in to buy a 12 CTS myself and was wondering if there's a jack for the aux input because there's no jack on the dash. and then I get a bunch of attitudes. but if I can at least find the plug under the armrest, then this video has been helpful as fuck to me so I applaud you for that.
chieftp it usually helps to not be a smart ass and make smart ass comments when your looking for help.
I don't need help from anybody. I was just tryna figure out why you had so many wires for what is supposed to be a wireless connection. and I still ain't got an answer for that shit. but it's all good. I gotta go to work now. I'll holla at you later.
chieftp please don't.
Absolutely stupid the radio can’t do this by default 😂I bought a cable that plugged in to the usb and the aux in the center console.
What are you even saying? You make no sense
@@JMathew21 it makes perfect sense a usb to aux cable that’s Bluetooth plug each appropriate end into its slot in the center console and then you’ve got Bluetooth.
oh duh...heh thanks
hey thanks man, i saw bluetooth and assumed it ment calls and media, i bet this is cheaper than an isimple. awesome info.
Ben Wilson totally cheaper and simpler. You're welcome.
Is this compatible with a 2009 Cadillac CTS?
Also, what is the name of this device again?
Thank you so much for this video!
Will this work for blacked out screen? My radio still works, just can’t see anything.
Helpful but I would just buy a aux at that point
At this point why comment
Mutombo Says letting the creator know that his video was helpful but unfortunately I’m going to peruse a different route . That is why I commented
@@ThatOneStupidChannel at this point satire doesn't exist
@@ThatOneStupidChannel yeah its pointless unless an iPhone is present also
Will this work with Cadillac CTS 2009?
Jacob Kessler I believe so. It’s really a generic method of getting Bluetooth when all you have is an aid port. This method should work on any car in the same circumstances.
Hi this was helpful. Can I assume you are unable to listen to your iPhone or iPod via the USB if you have them? My car has always been unable to read any iPods or iPhones via the USB port with either the apple cable or the ac delco cable. Any help would be great. Leaning towards the Bluetooth device.
JC Gerhardt I personally don't have any apple devices but there is one option, iSimple makes a module.
the audio quality is crap with the cheapy bluetooth adapters. you need a decent receiver with a decent output amp to work properly or your music wont have the highs and lows that an aux cable provides
Athif Farouque and you're saying this with actual experience with the CTS and a Bluetooth device?
Justin Mathew yhea. I have a 2009 CTS. The cheap Bluetooth adapters suck. You need an adapter with a good output.
Athif Farouque that's funny because there is no difference in sound quality between using an audio cable or this Bluetooth device. Maybe the Bluetooth device you brought was cheap.
How is the streaming on this ? Does it sound good ?
Sounds clear. I didn't have any major complaints
Can’t find it on Amazon would any other Bluetooth device work ?
can you please add the link to purchase this device please
sexy30311 miccus mini-jack rx
J. Mathew good intel...
He said bluetoot
If I use a flash drive with music on it will that work too???
I cant confirm that. I sold it quite sometime ago. It doesn't hurt to try.
Can you post a video showcasing it?
It’s not Bluetooth it’s aux there’s a difference
Actually it's Bluetooth. The phone is streaming through Bluetooth via the aux port by using a Bluetooth receiver.
Do you know how to make the audio play clearer in the front?
Check the connections. It should be clear
My apologies I should have specified. I just got this car yesterday, and the radio sound will cut in and out of being crystal clear audio to more of a muffled sound. I am currently ordering the attachment you mentioned in the video for the Bluetooth but untill that arrives I am trying to fix this. Thanks!
Where did you buy it from..i have the same car
adriotcwatts it was bought years ago from amazon. I’m sure they have much newer versions of the same thing
If you use just the aux cable, can you use pandora or other music apps?
I notice that only the front speakers work if I plug my iphone 5 into the jack port. I assume that goes hand in hand with "front aux input"? Either way, sound quality sucks. I thought maybe the jack cable I was using was wrong.
iliketowatchthis it doesn't mean front speakers. It just means the aux location is located in the front.
and make sure from the config and put it normal or in the mid of the car
This doesn’t help it still has poor sound quality. Any info otherwise much appreciated!
Ok, i must be missing something here! In my CTS wagon, , I just use a 2.5 Mm cable from the earphone jack of my phone and into the aux input of the car?!? Pandora works great with my unlimited cell plan....
from Clark what are you missing?
Bluetooth makes it wireless...
that seems like a shitload of wires for what is supposed to be a wireless (bluetooth) connection
chieftp obviously you don't know what wireless streaming means and missed the point of the video.
maybe. where is the music coming from?
chieftp I'd you don't know what's going on why make a comment?
That's a Bluetooth device that you can connect your phone to and stream music.
if I knew what was going on, I wouldn't need to ask. so the music is coming from your phone? OK. so what does bluetooth have to do with streaming music? bluetooth is a wireless connection that wirelessly connects your phone to the radio in the car (if the car has a bluetooth connection.) but it looks like you have a cable coming from the phone into this box, and then another cable going into the audio input of the radio. that's not a bluetooth connection. if the phone has a headphone jack, you could just connect that directly to the input of the radio. or if you have an iphone with no jack, you could use the bluetooth to connect to the radio. what you have looks like simply an interface to connect the USB plug on the phone to convert it to an audio signal which is plugged into the input for the radio. bluetooth is not involved here since it is a wired connection.
Chieftp . Hes streaming wireless to the device with the light which is plugged into his cars audio input port. The USB wire is attached to the cars USB port to the Bluetooth receiver to keep it ( the Bluetooth receiver with the light) charged. Once he closes the arm rest that's it. He can connect his phone wireless through Bluetooth in the arm rest to allow him to stream music "wirelessly". if he doesn't use this method he would have to have a cable attached to the phones headphone port to stream music as his car doesn't support Bluetooth audio streams though the factoy Bluetooth connection. Im going to assume your trolling, as he has explained it clearly in the vid.
On the Cadillac srx hit the aux button then menu/select 3 times and follow instructions for connect to stream music bluetooth
Yeah man I did that but now I getting interference through my led lights I can't win!?!?! Cadillac engineers are the biggest idiots in the whole entire world I literally hate the bullshit they pulled in my 2014 ats. I have the performance level car with the turbo dual exhaust carbon fiber interior and SOMEHOW it has the 4 in screen no cue! I totalled my 2018 ats which was just the most amazing car I've ever owned driver ect. And I am happy with this one becuase I literally paid a 3rd of the price form 30,000 to 8900 Florida car low miles I thought for sure there was going to be something wrong with it bit it's beautiful. But now I starting to find some stuff I REALLY miss about the newer ats 2 of which front end and the 9 inch screen. The look whatever not worth an extra 2,000 let alone 20 and but not being able to play my phone through Bluetooth while having Bluetooth is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen! What were they thinking and no one has figured out a software work around yet which is absolutely amazing! Anyway the Bluetooth is there how is there not a way to play music I mean there should be some sort of piece of tech that allows us to do this wirelessly seamlessly without interference from aux the usb port doesn't even pick up the phone its like they were trying to really piss the people of that didn't have CUE I'm livid seriously it's a DAM CADILLAC! ITS EMBARRASSING IS WHAT IT IS. IDK IM just having a really hard time figuring out a work around so I can have my wore light on its perfectly installed subtle and tasteful looking but I can't tunr the radio up becuase the squeal is so loud it whines over the radio! Urg I'm about the spend the 300$ on that amazing 11inch android din deck and it can seamlessly be installed into this car as it is rn but I'd also have to try and do it myself and probably realize I can't do it as east as those on you tube or get it installed which who knows how much that cost! Well thanks for the video at least I'll try one of the wireless contraptions maybe it will work better maybe the whine will be gone although I doubt it.
How did you fix that interference with the leds? I’m having yeh same problem.. I’m wondering will it do it if I put an actual aftermarket touch screen radio?? Any help would be appreciated
