This minigame on its own was so fun and unique compared to most other gaming experiences I've had. Imagine a full ass game of swordfighting enemies, with some more depth. The biggest shame is that it will probably never happen, the time for that has passed.
I know I’m 5 years too late, but watching this now brings back elementary school nostalgia. I would always feel like I’m a Jedi fighting against the Dark Side. This game was so fun back then.
I thought it was either most fun to either wait for the entire enemy to surround you at the start then take them all out in like 3 strokes, or by ensuring that I hit every single enemy so hard they are sent flying off the bridge
I love how when the enemy Miis fall off the bridge or cliffs, they had to include them being lifted up by balloons because it obviously wouldn't be acceptable to show them falling to their deaths on a rated E game.
Something I'd like to point out is that they'd use the same Miis every time, instead of randomizing, which means I can actually recognize some of these enemies by name. I played this game a lot when I was younger...
I remember playing this for HOURS! I cannot remember what age I was, I am currently17 now. But these memories are the things that I will never forget. Swordplay was another one of the games that I played a lot on. I think I maybe got up to around 1450, I’m not sure exactly but I do know it was around 1200 - 1500. Playing with my family on the Wii was one of the funniest things I have ever done. To this day I still think back about the insane amount of hours my little brother and I would play. Just waiting until school ended, just to get back home and see my little brother on it. At the time I had gotten angry at him, now looking back at it. He was not on it just to play it. He was on it to become better than I was. I remember the other games that I use to play, especially the Dog Frisbee. At the time I somehow had managed to get 1357. I remember the score, because it was an achievement I set for myself at the time. The Wii in general was something that brought families together, the experiences I had are amazing. Just thinking back, I would love to re-live the experience I had. Whether that was from going head to head in swordplay with my family. Improving on all of the games that I enjoyed, or even just messing around in the character creation. I will always cherish these memories, they are the good memories and the bad memories. But I love remembering the things my family did together. :)
i’m 17 too my dad had got me the wii for me christmas 2010 when i was 5 i remember having the original wii sports and this version. this brings back hella memories and gives me nostalgia it’s crazy how time flies i completely forgot about this til i heard the background music on tiktok and ik it sounded familiar
Jonathon Fyck there should also be 20 more stages that are buffed so for example stage 21 is stage 1 but longer and there is only black armored guys and for stage 31 it is reversed and the guys attack almost instantly and for stage 40 it is stage 30 but much longer, only black armored giants, and they attack 1.5x the speed as they do in stage 31.
I’m 13 and I have loved this game since I was 7. Both of the wii sports was literally my favourite thing ever I would play it all day till I had to go bed. This mode was the best I feel bad for the people who couldn’t play this kind of stiff
My thoughts: 2:36 Silke has weirdly aggressive AI in this stage 2:52 first red armor 2:57 I've never seen a green armor try to attack right away before lol 4:23 if you look closely Miguel appears to be blocking but then he just stops for some reason and acts like his sword is his dick 8:13 Hirosama tried to scare the player. It didn't work. 9:16 first purple armor 12:22 first boss that actually attacks 13:26 hey another green that attacks 16:52 wii remote seems to be acting up 19:22 first non boss black armor
i honestly love how aggressively he hits the mii’s, watching them fly was awesome to watch. the swings were so smooth as well and was so satisfying to watch! 🥰
when I was a kid I tried and tried to beat showdown, I got to castle r but couldn't beat it. Then finally just this past year, I went back to the wii and beat it, since I'm older and was more experienced with video games. Never give up
I love this game. I love it how that in a crowd and even if the main opponent is in front of you, you can still mow down everyone around you, making it easier so they won't jump you.
As a kid, I thought swordplay was really hard to play. My brother beat the entire game, I thought he was a legend or something. Now I'm 17, play Doom Eternal on the hardest difficulty and my brother is a Marine. Yet, I've still never beaten swordplay.
The 3 best things about swordplay showdown:
-The music
-Mowing down opponents
-The fact that the swords are almost like Lightsabers
Bless!
Violet sword? Thats lit too
matt is basically mace windu
tucann mowing down opponents like grass is fun af they even look like grass the green trashy ones
Eubd
This was the most fun game in wii history.
Sickheadshot I know right I still play it brother !
420 blaze it
Same, man.
Sickheadshot I do too xD
Gojida
Lol
Musa Jackson I just play to smack around npc's
In the reversed volcano, I hit someone so hard that they actually fell in the lava! I heard the balloon sound but didn't see the Mii I hit. xD
Lollololol
Anakin: I HATE YOU!
That's crazy
YOU KILLED THEM LOOOL
Did they go over the bar or through it
Absolutely played the death out of this mode and was exhilarating as a kid and needs a game of its own with how well done the motion controls were.
I finally dug out my wii and the CD's only to find out my wii sports and sports resort don't work anymore 😢
And my parents won't buy them for me now

Nintendo Land, y’all are talking about Nintendo Land
(That being said it’s only for the Legend of Zelda submode so)
Bro I swear Matt is always the ultimate king of all of these sports like basketball, table tennis, boxing, and of course the sword play
Idk why but I remembered the end of this being one of the dudes being like 10 hearts as like some super dude
No lucìa Was a champion in table tennis and in basketball tommy is the champion in this sport but matt of course is the king
Matt is what peak performance looks like
Matt's just a champion at boxing and swordplay, he has less than 1000 points in every other sport
Matt isn't even pro in the other sports.
And by the way, there's a champion in cycling, Anna.
Man kills whole country to get to duel matt
