I've played futbol since I was 6 years old, stopped playing about 5 years ago because of a spinal surgery. I have never seen something so motivational to get me back to playing futbol; this is by far one of the most inspirational futbol videos ever. If they can do it, even with their own disabilities, so can I.
Lookup the US Power Soccer Association website. There could be a team in your area!!
I played on the Athens PowerDawgs (Georgia) team in 2011.
I'm in Texas now, and I believe we have a manual chair soccer team here at the Toyota Stadium. Unsure if there's a Powerchair Team, but I'm game to go see some games for sure!! (I'm awaiting my 8th spine surgery so I'm not allowed to be in contact sports right now. This is 1st Lumbar Surgery for me though, I've had 7 decompression, laminectomy fusions on the Occipital-Cervical-Thoracic length of upper spine. I'm 100% immobile/fused at my neck, so no turning head left/right or up/down. My head is face-forward positioned and so I just turn at waist or turn my wheelchair left/right. Of course, my arms are still mobile, and I can stand to transfer.
Hope you are doing well and can get back to playing soccer again. It's the greatest feeling to make a goal!!
So glad to be apart of the USPSA ( U.S Power Soccer Association). The ability to get to meet people with similar disabilities as mine is what makes the sport so great. On top of that being on the international level of play is an experience like no other. Thank you GoPro for displaying the beauty that is Power Soccer (Football) on your channel.
As the sport is not known by many you can go to the USPSA website or I can answer any questions to the best of my ability.

This makes me really happy, soccer or football is one of the best sports in the world and it makes me smile to see people who can't use their legs able to play such an amazing sport
My friend is a power soccer evangelist. He and his friends have inspired the establishment of many teams in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Americas. The game gives people who often are isolated a place to belong, something to excel at, people who are like them, who get it. The games are pretty cool to watch, too. The only bad part is that so many of their friends have died young, because often the disease that placed them in the chair will claim their life just as we are learning to love them. But it's good that they have a place of belonging while they live.
this is so powerful, honestly soccer is my favorite sport and I could never get over it thousands..... no millions of people play this sport and it brings everybody together

Everyone is "disabled" one way or another - some may be physically, some through where they are geographically located, some socioeconomic status they were born into. Everyone is living with something that they have to deal with/overcome. It's about seeing everyone as equal.

Bob McFlurry I believe that this team is in the second to top Cup/League. The very top is the Premier Cup which contains the top 10 teams in the U.S. Don't get me wrong, the people in this video are really good, but (from personal experience) the Premier Cup is where it's at.
