- Maori soul supremo Bunny Walters was a fixture on NZ television screens for two decades before retiring from public view. Bunny is in typically fine voice seen here performing the classic Please Come Home For Christmas, in front of a live television audience at the Christchurch Town Hall in 1985.....
Cannot believe it will be six years this Christmas we lost Bunny, He was a good friend and mate, we had lots of fun times together singing and playing guitar on our balcony in Noosa, RIP Bunny, your mate Wayne
One of my favorite all time singers we were right into him 1972 at intermediate mangere east back in the day awesome memories
Never heard of him before tonight. Now I'm hooked. I get Tom Jones vibes from him with his powerful voice.
Love you Bunny Walters Churr My Brother
Rest In heavenly Peace, Bunny, I remember U growing up partially in Otara Sth Auckland mid 70s
I lived in Otara about that time too, Te Puke Otara town centre, Swimming Pools, Houggie bears take aways, Bluebird Chip factory, Baird's Road, Sandbrook Primary School, Ferguson Intermediate, East Tamaki Pub, flea Markets,
Yep-He had a great voice...
🎶💞🎶
Love & miss you Bunny Walters
I would see him jogging around the neighbourhood in manurewa in the mid 90s. He was before my time, my parents said he was big in the 70s. 🤙 oh he also had the occasional spliff with my mates oldman.
I have quite a few Bunny Walter's songs on vinyl compilations, I was born in 1972, when he really was kicking, Take the Money and Run, is a great track, and several others. Rest In Peace Bunny. I found this lovely but hard to watch. Bless him.
One of the greats... had the pleasure of hearing you at Fathers Mustache nightclub in Fort Street Auckland.... way way back in the early 80's.... memories for life from that night, you were awesome. Legend.

Rest in peace Bunny, you did good old son.
So sad to hear of your passing 😇😇 Soar to the high heavens Bunny. Someone beautiful is waiting for you 😭😭😭
in 99 I was worship leading at Whanganui AOG. I looked up for some unknown reason and scanned over the crowd. To my surprise Bunny was sitting at the back of the congregation, and I more or less had to have a double look to make sure it was him. I had learnt later on that he had become a christian while in Australia if I am correct. Well I never got to speak to him as I probably got busy. But that day will stick with me for the rest of my life... RIP.
Miss you man! Loved your shows at Butts Motor Inn, Kawerau back in the day.
