I had the pleasure of meeting Guitar Shorty a few years ago in a little Club in Central Texas. My friend was opening for him and I was able to have drink and a little conversation with the man. Real deal!! RIP BROTHER!!
Wow. That nut rake dive bomb he played in the fourth verse or whatever it was is the sickest thing I've ever heard on a guitar. He stuck the strings above the nut, and then ran the Whammy round the clock. That was tight.

They needed to film that awesome bass player. RIP Guitar Shorty. I only learned of you today.
The guy is a legend and I love the couple dancing
RIP guitar shorty…never fully appreciated…😔
Miss you and Terry "Big T" DuRouen. You guys were the best.
Very Nice. God bless his soul and thank you for sharing. baa mehr
Brilliant blues player.
You are missed! RIP Shorty
He moved to Seattle and met Jimi Hendrix. He had an influence on young Jimi. Rest In Peace, amazing man.
And yet, Jimi--who mentioned many times, of his admiration for other Blues greats, did not mention this guy, even once!...what was up with that?
Back when Shorty had a very tight band.
RIP Guitar Shorty, get ready to jam with all the late Greats!
Played G&L that’s cool in itself…🤙🏻🤙🏻

Agreed. Glen Campbell using false harmonics as rhythmic accents would be second for me...a very distant second.
Hendrix had his bag of tricks too...but I never heard of this one before!...What a shame that this dude never became very famous.
