This was one of the most innovative ideas I’ve seen in a long time and I love that I can now use my dies in another way which just opened up a huge new world of possibilities. Thank you for sharing. I also appreciated you sharing your thoughts on the little side kick. There have been times that I haven’t wanted to pull out my bigger machine because my work space was already full of my project. Good to know you like it.
Very cool! It’s cool how it adheres to the base. I don’t like adhesive sprays, so this is a better idea. It seems more like a mask than a stencil, though. Stencils collect the color in the openings; masks block the color and protect the base.
I commented just now but hadn’t yet finished watching your video so now I feel I have to add how beautiful and creative your cards and say how much I love your process and I will subscribe to your channel. I have been a card maker for over thirty years and am fascinated that I can always learn new techniques. Thank you!
Great technique. Now to remember freezer paper next time I go to the store. I was glad to hear you say you save everything because you hate waste. I have people ask me all the time why I save small scraps. I have some tiny punches and dies, if they will fit in the scrap, it gets saved.
Well, I stumbled across this post quite by accident, and I love what you’ve demonstrated! So very creative and clever. In a past life, I have been a quilter and still have freezer paper from those days. Now, I make cards and you’ve inspired a whole cluster of ideas. Thanks so much! I am a new follower! And, your cards are delightful!
Such an amazing technique. It is so, so practical in that you can create a stencil of the fantastic dies you already own. Your tutorial is excellent, so concise.
I'm not a card maker but watch card making videos to get technique ideas for other paper crafts. This video is the first one that actually piques my interest in card making. Great ideas!
Stephanie - I've never seen this technique before. I have freezer paper for other things, but never in my wildest imaginings have I had this idea! I am so tickled to see your ideas, and my own wee mind is twirling with ideas. Thanks so much for your creative genius and for sharing this brilliant and crazy idea.
Wow, I would never have thought to use freezer paper as a stencil. I’m amazed at the beautiful cards you made. Thank you for sharing this video with us. ❤
Great tips! Very inspirational, too! The final card was so intricate AND clever use of those glitter paper scraps. Could you put adhesive on the back of the original glitter paper sheet? Then the scrap flowers would be easier to adhere later. I'm a hoarder too. I save all my foil scraps and use them randomly on paper crafting projects and on junk journal and art journal pages. Gives them a bit of 'POP'. tfs!
Thanks so much for this idea. Never would have thought to use it as a mask! I love freezer paper. Taught a class once fusing it to beautiful tissue paper with an iron to make beautiful backgrounds and envelopes. Brown butcher paper should work too because it has a shiny side also. 😊
This was an great videos with lots of ideas. I quilted for years using freezer paper for different techniques. And 30 years ago I used the freezer paper to cut stencils, iron on fabric, and used fabric paint to make a wall hanging. I would never have thought it had so many uses in paper crafting. I am a beginner watercolorist and want to try that technique too. Thanks so much for sharing your
Beautiful! I feel like each card could have been its own video (slowed down a tad) to show each technique. This was so innovative and informative. Fantastic projects!
Hi Stephanie, the reindeer die is a Cottage Cutz die, and yes it is old, possibly 20 years. I have it in my collection, and after seeing you using the die I will now use it again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.
WOW. What an array of fantastic cards. I love the fact you ve used the freezer paper as a stencil and totally agree with you that ALL the cards turned out great (even the one you used stencil paste on 😂) my favourite was the last one maing a tri-fold card out of the scrap was genius. I loved all these ideas and Freezer paper (with wax) is now on my shopping list. I will definitely try all your ideas here. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these cards and for the inspiration. X X from the uk X X
I came across this video and just had to try this technique. It worked beautifully. I used my Glaminator on the foiling setting and only had to run it through once. Once I was able to get the die cut off the original card, I was still able to use it on a second card. Thanks for this fantastic idea. I finally have a use for the freezer paper that was just taking up space in my pantry. 😂
I absolutely love your idea of using freezer paper as a stencil! I don't have a laminator, but I do have an iron and a heat gun, so I can't wait to try this! I also love how you used all of the pieces to make beautiful cards. ❤😊
Your techniques are awesome! Such great ideas for creating cards. There's no need to waste something that you can actually use! I love all of your cards, but I especially love the last one. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a great tip. And actually even better than an actual stencil. Because often no matter how careful I am I will usually get some ink or paint under the stencil.
I’m going to have to rewatch this when I not sick. lol. I sort of followed what you were doing, but my sinuses are messed up. So I’ll rewatch it once I’m a bit more coherent. Thanks.
Your creativity is amazing!! I love the cards! I used to do a similar technique years ago to paint on fabric. I never had such intricate designs though ❤
Ran across your channel and as i am a card maker always looking for new techniques, I love your ideas. Will definitely be trying them. As a result of your innovative ideas, I subscribed to your channel.
Love this idea and can't wait for my next day off to try it! You do beautiful work and you are a natural instructor, with clear and concise directions! I'm so glad I stumbled onto this video! Thank you for the inspiration! 💕
What a unique idea. I’ll have to try this although my laminator is not the best. I have to use a piece of additional cardstock in the carrier sheet so that it passes through without getting jammed up.
WOW WOW WOW!!!! I am absolutely blown away with not only your genius hack, thank you so much for sharing this with us all, but also with your sheer artistic talent, your fantastic editing skills, your clear, informative tutorial style, like WOW!! I am so excited that I have found your channel! Hi, my name is Rechelle and I'm from Western Australia and your newest subscriber 😊❤. I can't wait to binge watch through your past videos lol. Thank you and I hope you have the most amazing day sweetheart 😊
I can’t thank you enough for your kind words! So nice of you to say- I’m very glad you’ve enjoyed my videos! I hope to put out a lot more you’ll enjoy. Thanks for watching!
Very Innovative! I love new ideas to use all my dies for. Freezer paper in Ontario Canada where I live is not in are groceries store for some reason. It used to be in all of them. Luckily I have a stash of boxes that I bought many years ago I use them in my acrylics paint pouring. Freezer paper is very handy and I absolutely love this technique. I liked and subscribed to your channel because of this wonderful idea. Thank you.
As others said as i was going too. I've used an iron with freezer paper and wax paper. Years ago,put leaves we collected between wax paper. Love the cards. Last one really pretty. Thanks for the tip and sharing. Will have to try this. Been wanting to get a laminater, but i want to know alot of things can do with it besides the norm. Thanks again
WOW! I too stumbled across this video and loved it. You described it very well and made it look easy. I loved the fact that you end up with a 2 for 1. I am excited to try it. I will look forward to more videos from you. Thanks for sharing
These are so elegant looking! I have freezer paper just sitting in my cabinet since I bought a food sealer haven’t used it! I’m running 🏃🏾♀️ to the kitchen to try it now!! Thank youuuuu! ❤
New subscriber here as someone who just made a hot pink haunted house with pink and purple ghosts I absolutely love your color choices. Beautiful idea and cards. Thank you
Absolutely fantastic cards and technique. I don't have a laminator and have never seen freezer paper here in Australia so these would need to be researched and purchased. I have just subscribed to your chanel.
Great video and great tutorial. I have just grown tired of my die cutter and my dies. It is too big to haul out, blah blah, blah. But your ideas make me want to give it all another try! Thank you 🙂
It really was a pain to haul everything out, so I got a nice desk at a yard sale and made a die-cutting station. Machine and dies are always out. It's wonderful!
WHAT a fantastic idea! I love this so much, thanks for sharing. I may add this to my next hacks video if you would be okay me crediting you and your channel. Amazing❤
I absolutely loved your techniques! With your practice, makes perfect! There are truly no mistakes 🙌 🙏. Can you give me the information on the Art Deco Card Stamps? ❤
Hi, thanks so much! Appreciate your kind words! For the art deco card- it is an old hero arts monthly kit set from probably 5 years ago, so unfortunately it’s not available anymore. I do sometimes have luck finding old sets on eBay!
very cool! You're sew creative! Glad to have happened across your video this morning! We've used freezer paper for fabric appliques forever! it can be used several times & we just iron it on. That paste card- could u have pulled the freezer paper off right after applying the paste & it would have been "ok."?... I have that slimline die- bought it for the sewing on cardstock feature- would never have thought of using it like you did but hey---I've seen YOU do it now! THanks! Merry Christmas!
I don’t have a laminator but used an iron Thanks for the idea. Saves money on masking paper
Yeah, an iron should work fine. I use an iron when I make wrapping paper with my freezer paper.
Good idea!
Thank you for sharing. I don't have a laminator but I do have and iron. 😊
I was just going to comment to use your iron, lol.
I use an iron, too. It works.
