Mark, another interesting and informative vid. Love the new music choices really gives an upbeat feel from the get go! There are a couple questions I have that I also think could be good information to address in a future video. Mostly about weather. in the season, how often does heavy rain go non stop for several days ? How frequently is Saipan hit with a "take shelter" type tropical storm or typhoon? is the almost constant wind enough to offset the heat and humidity? I am amazed to see so many people not wearing white cotton shirts. I'm a southern boy and always wear white cotton on sunny days. Thanks again Mark for taking the time to do these videos.
It gets VERY HOT here in the Summer, this time of year when there is Snow every place else the Cool Air from the North Blows down an it makes this Place Absolutely Paradise during this Season. We have a Rainy Season where we sometimes get Rain for a Straight Week. Usually Typhoons are not that Common. This Year we had two. A lot of days it will Rain for 5 Minutes then be Sunny the Rest of the Day or On Off 5 Minute Showers. This time of year is Perfect.
Saipan is kinda like taking a Trip to Philippines, Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, and the Islands all at the Same time. If I wake up in the Morning and I want Doughnuts I can walk down the beach north to Winchelle's Doughnut Shop, If I want Authentic Filipino Food I can walk down the Street one Block to Golden Ribbon Restaurant, Later on if I want Kimchee, or Korean BBQ I walk a Block to the Korean Restaurant, If I want Chinese Food Mo's Restaurant is right next door, if I want Thai Food I jump on the Bike and I am a 30 Minute Bike Ride from Wild Bills or Lucky Bills Thai Restaurant or there is also Spicy Thai Noodle Shop. If I want Japanese Food I can ride my Bike up to Garapan there are a Couple Japanese Restaurants there. And if I am in the mood for some good American Style food there is Java Joe's in Dan Dan, and the Country House Restaurant in Garapan. Wild Bills also serves American Style Food. I'm Sorry to say there is NO ONE on this Island that has Mastered the Art of Authentic Mexican Food. Many Restaurants CLAIM to have Mexican food, but any Mexican who goes to those Restaurants will be VERY Disappointed. I went to every single Restaurant that Claims to serve Mexican Food and it wasn't even Close. Taco Bell is Closer to Mexican Food than anything served here on Saipan. I Lived in Mexico for 12 years, I COULD Teach them, but many of the Restaurants here have Learning Disabilities, so you can't teach someone who thinks they know everything already. One day I will go back to Mexico and grab a few Mexican Cooks and bring them over here as "Contract Workers" if the Philippines can do it, so can Mexicans, especially for their FOOD! 😁
I see, that's awesome! As much as quiet beaches and nature sounds nice, I would also love to see areas like garapan become more urban and modernized like, (maybe some people are against that lol 😅) but I guess that ultimately depends on the islands population
