Although I was in the Simpson Desert just a few weeks earlier I cannot get enough of the outback scenery. Keep up the good work and thank you for the mention. The images of my past bring back wonderful memories of so long ago. I bet the kids enjoyed every minute and I look forward to your next video.
@@AlloffroadAu Thats beautiful! Cant wait until my little ones older to do the same. My best memories as a young child are of waking up at 3am,4 of us getting into my fathers GQ SWB patrol ,all cramped up sitting on blankets, filled ro the brim!!! and hitting the road for a camping/touring trip!!!
This video's imagery really helped this morning. I thank you geniunely. I watched this while eating my breakfast and I feel ready to tackle my day having been reminded our beautiful country is still our there to explore when we are allowed.
I had the same issue with our Spot Tracker, it was too close to my Samsung tablet running Oziexplorer, once I relocated it further away on the passenger side of the dashboard it has been fine ever since. Another thing is to position the spot with the face with the logo facing upwards to the sky as the receiver is on that side. I use the same Ram mount too btw. As a side note we left the Central Coast for a trip to the Simpson etc around the same time as you but got to Broken Hill the afternoon the SA border was closed to Greater Sydney residents. We stayed at Menindee too for a couple of days before heading to the corner country dodging the road closures, before giving up and heading home.
yes it worked later on ok after re-positioning, strangely I had it in same position on many previous trips without an issue and it sure had clear view of the sky. Very odd
Hi Stefan, thanks for taking me on a trip to places I’d rather be. Week 6 of WFH is coming to an end and my Flinders trip early in September is certainly being put on hold. Can’t wait for the next episode. Keep up the good work, i certainly appreciate your efforts..
Not don't think I will as I'm very underwhelmed by Hemas new Maps and I just can't see how Hema in any way can compete, functionality, quality and battery wise with a good Android or Apple tablet which is a multi purpose devices, has way better battery life and gives me options to run any app or map I want.
@@AlloffroadAu Hema has sold out and no longer a reputable company. Hema ripped off the Hx-1 / Explore pro app users. Some people lost maps from years ago when Hema cloud was shut down along with the pro app including me. 🤬
It's the Hema HOAX2, actually. Beware of giving them your hard earned - they stole stuff back from me and many others. But they haven't been able to steal back the maps I purchased on CD/DVD, which are a long way better than their newer ones which have lots of stuff removed and nothing added.
Good video, I also got a cracked windscreen a few weeks ago on the Oodnadatta Track from a passing caravaner who did not slow down. It’s very annoying and expensive- $1800 for DMax
Yes some screens are very expensive. On my previous car, 76 series, I went through 4 screens on a trip from Sydney to the Kimberleys and back. That model seems to eat screens for breakfast. But they are reality cheap and my insurance had unlimited screen replacements as part of the policy. The only issue i discovered later on is that some of the installers damaged the paint in the process of replacing the screen and being out of sight, I ended with rust under the rubber seal.
Thanks Stefan. Just wondering if your bunker tent gets cold from below at all? Do you use a sleeping pad as well, or just a sleeping bag? Many thanks for taking us out of lockdown.
Great trip Stefan, wantwd to ask what stand/holder/mount do you use for your ipad/gps holder in the middle of the dash facing you from the middle of the windscreen?
Good clip mate, thoroughly enjoyable. Quick question, the iPad at the start with the mapping on it, is that mud maps or hema maps or what ? Cheers mate and keep up the good work
You could just live in the Florida panhandle where nothing locked down because we understand the constitution and believe in freedom. Also I dont know a single person that went to the hospital
lol there is some good 4wd in the US and on my bucket list, I unfortunately know people who had Covid (my young healthy cousin is still dealing with after effects 8 month later) and we have two family friends who died of it in Germany.

Thanks for watching!
Great to see you do a trip with family Stefan! 😁 ! Memories to be cherished!
Yes indeed! I do have pretty much every holiday family camping trips but usually don't take kid's on remote trips.

Wonderful Stefan .... Your channel is without a shadow of a doubt the most authentic 4wd expedition series on RUclips my friend....
thank you very much mate, greatly appreciated.
Hotels looked a bit depressing, the boys were probably much happier in the tents. Thanks for taking us along on the trip.
Yes the hotels where depressing camping would have been better for sure
Looks like a beginning of a great adventure.
This is shaping up to be an awesome series, creating lifelong memories with your family !
It really is!

“two weeks to flatten the curve,” these lockdowns are ridiculous. Glad you’re enjoying life.
Great video mate, my family hails from the Winton / Middleton / Boulia area's. Great to see it all on video, havent been to the area for about 15years
Glad you enjoyed it
Your trip videos are always full of values and nice to watch...Cheers from a fan of your channel from UAE.

Great as always and half your luck getting away from greater sydney. Stuck on the Central Coast and cant go anywhere.
Sorry to hear that, I'm no stuck too but it was great to get out

Wow - the last one on my GU Patrol was $130.

The only thing to do in many of the outback towns is to get sloshed at the pub, or pass through, haha.

that is actually a new one I bought before the trip and it turned out brilliant. It’s called Seasucker. Review coming
@@AlloffroadAu thank you stefan
Good to see the kids with you mate but what about the wife, she doesn’t like travelling ?
she does like stationary camping but not Desert Touring, also has work commitments.
Good clip mate, thoroughly enjoyable. Quick question, the iPad at the start with the mapping on it, is that mud maps or hema maps or what ? Cheers mate and keep up the good work
thanks mate, iPad with Memory Map and Hema Maps
🙈 Emu for lunch anyone 🇦🇺🤠👍
As usual good fair dinkum honest real video.
Thanks! 😃
high5 from sydney mate
thank you back to you lol
You didn’t bring the Deluxe??
no the Delux would not have made it, keep watching
If you slowed down you wouldn't have to sacrifice anything. As soon as you see them SLOW DOWN. Ye lets kill the wild life and save an idiot.
lol it was after a curve, wet road and I slowed down and hence did not kill or injure any wildlife not sure what you on about.
