It is said that the importance of the Visakhapatna division will be reduced if the construction of the division at Rayagada starts before the construction of the South Coast Railway Zone atVizag in Andhra. The then railway minister Piyush Goyal first announced the establishment of a railway division at Rayagada. Taking it two steps further, the present Railway Minister Ashwini Baishba said that the tender for the Rayagada Railway Division was held on August 24 last.The tender was closed on September 24. 107 crore first phase cost estimate and tender was awarded In the tender, 13 firms have been considered eligible for technical bid. 370 crores have been sanctioned for this in the first phase of the central budget. All this happened during the time of Ashwini Vaishnav, who was elected from Odisha and became Union Railway Minister, so new possibilities were created for Odisha. However, Andhra Pradesh's claim for the proposed railway division seems to be given more weight as the then Jagan Reddy's YS governmet in Andhra and the current Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam government are cooperating with the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre. Odisha has 255 km of railway under Visakhapatnam Railway Division. It isplanned that all railways and railway stations of Rayagada, Keraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Nuapada districts including Rayagada will come under Rayagada division.But even today the government has not clarified which areas will be under it if the division is made in rayagada Andhra govt nagging to leave their region 1st station in Rayagada district after Kuneru station in Andhra 5 km from Singapur station after Rayagada station Sambalpur division starts Rayagada division will not have any importance until it is clear which areas will be inRayagada division . At present, in the undivided Koraput district, only Rayagada and Koraput districts are running railways, while Nabarangpur and Malkangiri are proposed to run railways. In all this, the concern about Rayagada Division is increasing, even though the Odisha government has been talking about the interest of Odisha,starting from the Railway Minister, how it will be achieved will be known in the coming days.
