The important issue with fiber compared to metal reel cranks is metal is hard and fiber material is soft. This means using fiber material cranks require a washer between the crank and reel shaft. This distributes the pressure over a larger area and reduces the chances of crushing the surface of the carbon fiber handle. Without the washers support the soft carbon fiber handle can loosen from use quickly. They will start to wobble and become loose. This also can even happen to soft aluminum reel cranks too. The reason for left hand threads is they used them likely because the crank is on the left instead of the right. Right hand reels use right hand threads. This may not always be true and careful removal of the crank retaining nut is good practice. Using a large powerful wrench makes it easy to strip threads. Better to use a small style spanner wrench or buy a tool set for working on small delicate size screws and fasteners. If you learn to disassemble your reels and clean them annually you will see a remarkable difference in performance. Most new reels are full of more grease and oil than needed. I clean my new reels before using them and know this is a simple fact. If you owned twenty cars or boats you likely would have a well-stocked garage; this is the same for owning fishing reels too. Fishing reels are much easier to keep running perfectly than a vintage Harley Davidson.

Lixada is a good company! I’ve gotten several swimbaits from them on Facebook in the past and boy do they catch fish! If you haven’t tried them you should and they are cheap! i think that washer goes underneath that handle, and when changing size handles the gear ratio changes i believe but im just speculating.

How do the grips feel on the new handle? It might be worth keeping a spare in the truck or boat for a quick fix while out on the water.

Richard Doxtater ehhh so so, it was a $9.00 handle. I am sure there are better ones but the grips are a foam type but seem fine.

By the way what type of wrench or whatever is it? Like a 1/2 or what because with just got mine in the mail too because I might have raged a bit and broke the handle in half😂

Not exactly sure just test fit and make sure you get a snug fit before you crank on it.
