As has been discussed in the discord, it seems the "i" in the title stands for island. If it does, it seems likely that the entire game takes place on one island and that you will NOT be revisiting old areas from FL3DS. This does cause a few more worries people have that it'll be to much like Animal Crossing as that too takes place on an island (or a single town with the older ones). Worst case scenario this is just Animal Crossing with Combat put in a Fantasy Life skin. But I don't feel like that's going to be the case. Animal Crossing doesn't have a storyline (other than you come to this place and are in debt and need to pay it off). The trailer for FLi though makes it clear that this game has a plot, so even if it is heavily inspired by Animal Crossing, it should still shape up to be a proper Fantasy Life game.
I agree 👍 I do think the "I" could stand for island or "I" (myself) I'm happy for that kind of twist but it cant just end at animal crossing 😅 FL know for it's story while each life has its own story to tell as you meet so many characters along the way while getting stronger you do make somewhat a connection with them. And that what makes your favourite life plus the reason everyone loves this series (nothing else like it). None of that was really shown kinda in the tease. I look forward to the end of the month for more gameplay 😃
Never played the mobile Fantasy Life game, so this was very insightful. I'm a little worried about the "slow" RPG terminology. Not really a fan of games that tell me how fast to play or limit story progression by time, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.
I have lots of content for the mobile version coming in the up coming months. So you can feel like you did play FLO :) Yeah. I still have a lot of questions
I really hope there will be online play, and a lot of character customization, I loved to customize my character to match their life, and loved going on bounty hunts with friends in the 3Ds version. 😊 (Also, kinda hoping they'll bring the dye/beauty salon shop back, it was such a cute feature.)
I wonder if they will bring the yo-Kai-watch collaboration to the new game, I really loved the items and buddies we got. I really hope that most buddies from online are brought over too because it pains me to just leave them all.
I do feel like them staying away from calling it Fantasy Life 2, might be to set it apart as a spin-off/different than the OG instead of maybe a main-line. I think most people are expecting it to be different from Fantasy Life 3DS because it seems focused on one hub area instead of a world to explore. That's my theory about this part :D

When I saw the trailer I was shook and excited, I was worried when I noticed the animal crossing vibes and I just hope they manage to make it have the magic of the 3DS version that I so loved when I played it and don't make the animal crossing vibes the whole game, I wouldn't mind the ability for landscaping or village building as long as I could do whatever else I wanted whenever, I never cared much for animal crossing new horizons tbh, it was fun but too much for my silly little brain to keep up with, but having the freedom of fantasy life with the village building of animal crossing might not be so bad. We'll have to wait until it comes out but I'm just really hoping it keeps the FL magic alive
I started playing Fantasy Life on my 3DS 2 days ago because I heard a lot of good things of it from people reacting to the new game announcement. I really love that game. It has everything that was always missing in Animal Crossing for me to play it more than 1 day or so. Many jobs, an interesting story, more towns/areas and you don't have to stop every 30 minutes because everything is closed or you are out of stamina. And the writing of some of the characters is hilarious. I'm really looking forward to play the new Switch game but I have some concerns as well. Hopefully there are more areas than just this one town on the island. It was a lot of fun to travel to others cities and adventure through the caves. I'm not a big fan of building the town yourself either. It could look pretty bland and crowded if I do it 😀 In the trailer it seems a bit boring that everything seems to be super close to another. I liked the city design in the first one with the different districts. But let's wait for more information. Make it 4 fans
I'm not 100% recovered from FLO shutdown.... but this one is looking very promissing. For the first time in years i really want to buy a Switch game, but i hope they're get a bit moderate with the textwalls, as occured on 3ds title
To me I see the "i" as interactive Given how much they're adding with interacting with -The village/island -Your house now -Time For me I've loved both Fantasy Life and Animal Crossing; so I'm completely down for AC esque additions. However, I feel like anything we do to the island will have actual major impact to what's going on. "Explore the *ONCE* Thriving Island" tells me that something happened to the ones who lived here, and we go back in time to figure that out + Restore the island to its former glory. My take is that the present is completely barren outside of our Time friend while the past is all the old characters. While there's the immense fear of this game *just* being the Island. I can't see them doing that. Maybe if this WAS Animal Crossing, but there's just too many things missing from this island at a glance. It would grow boring way too fast for many. And, it makes little sense that certain characters would just happen to be on this island all together at the same time (at least to me.) The Island seems more like a hub to me while going back to the past has the "3ds" regions albeit adjusted. That way we have the island customization locked to the "present" while the "past" is free to do as it pleases. Likely having characters able to be "stolen" from the past and brought to the present*? But, that's a bit hard to tell for now given that everything important likely happens in the past. UNLESS we take an Oracle of Ages approach and have some whacky Time Manipulation based on our actions in the past. I'm hype and pretty hopeful this will be my next big game for years once it drops. Just praying for Online with friends and no Gatcha / Subscription stuff. DLC like the 3ds is fine, but please just make it a stand alone.
