It is unlikely that the market will experience big gains anytime soon in light of the latest developments involving SVB, therefore it is prudent to set reasonable expectations and get ready for a potentially protracted recovery period. It is advised to postpone making big investment decisions until the economic climate in areas of concern has stabilized. It is best to take precautions and stay out of the current disturbance.
Although the economy has so far held up, the SVB scenario serves as a warning that Fed rate hikes are still having an impact. Excellent Panel on Inflation! The Phillips Curve is an economic theory that inflation and unemployment have a stable and inverse relationships. Phillips Curves are widely used to produce inflation forecasts. Economists such as Blinder (1997) argue that Phillips Curves should continue to play such a role because these curves summarize empirical relationships critical for policymaking.
In particular, I am interested in whether we can reduce demand in the supply chain as we do not have a varied of supply chain. A policy to stimulate the Labor Market is necessary to overcome the low consumption evidenced by the different economies. One thing that I see happening is in on the green investment for clean energies and new technologies for smart manufacturing. And we need to do a lot of our global warming I think is crucial to have carbon taxes.
My last point is A Fragmented World is not conducive to dealing with the inflation issue and it is costly. In terms of economic security what all countries need to do is to diversify their economies and something that could help them is to reduce their debt trap.

Nice panel and good points of discussion. 1. The US should have concentrated on economic development than starting a war after the pandemic. 2. Politics mixing in central banks do not work, that's disaster formula. 3. The US lived with a highest privilege of having the world reserve currency state without a challenge, which is getting challenged now and the new pricing of goods and services are going to be the new normal or it might go higher too.

Central banks were created to cheaply fund their host governments. Maintaining a currency with stable purchasing power is a goal that is only pursued when it is politically convenient to do so.

Just let the market do what it does naturally and there will be alot less confusion.
All these experts appear to be supporting a higher inflation target. While this might be beneficial for central banks, company growth, and for the rich/wealthy people, its impacts on the general public and the inequality it may create needs to be considered more as wages do not keep up with inflation.
It doesn't help a lot of the people you listed but you're right that it hurts wage earners the most
Unfortunately we can't convince the wage earners of the value of some money and the majority of our peers are fine with printing and spending on green energy and all of the other bologna that destroys the honest hardworking people's savings

There is something that doesn’t add up here. We are told that with lower productivity and older populations inflation and interest rates will be lower. Yet if governments continue running large deficits, they must continue borrowing large amounts of wealth and increasing their debt burdens relative to the size of the economy. Why would citizens be content to save and invest in sovereign debt with ever more negative real interest rates? At some point folks will stop saving because the consumption penalty to saving will be so high given higher tax rates, means testing, and negative real returns on fixed income.

With all due respect to the conventional wisdom, often repeated by Dr El-Erian et. al, that the US Fed was late to raise rates I would remind people that the Fed started raising rates in March, 2022... about a month after the omicron variant of covid ravaged the world. The Fed practiced *common sense* in supporting the economy and people during the pandemic. They are dealing with the aftermath now, but they were not late. If you want to put a fine point on lateness, Volmageddon in Feburary, 2k18 was the first signal that Trump was overheating the economy (and bullying the Fed) and that we would have an inflation issue at some point down the road. It was an echo of Nixon and Burns decades ago. And none of these economists dare speak of it because they are afraid of... the orange man and his minions.
