Whether you play as the legendary general or against him, the outcome of war can never be guaranteed. The course of history relies on your ability to lead your troops through the most intense battles as never seen before in a Total War game.
    About The Peninsular Campaign
The Peninsular Campaign is an independent campaign based on the conflict in the Spanish Peninsula between 1811 and 1814. It was during this era that the Spanish resistance gave their style of fighting its name: Guerrilla, or the “little war”.
Play the campaign from three different perspectives, each with a unique feel:
    • The French fight to keep resistance at bay while converting regions to their political alignment.
    • The British are very limited for regions at the start but receive enough income from Northern Europe and North America that they can afford to liberate regions back to the Spanish in return for Guerrilla aid.
    • The Spanish also have a limited starting position but have permanent access to Guerrillas for effective battlefield use against the French.
Choose one of the three nations involved - France, Great Britain or Spain - and experience one of the most intense conflicts of the Napoleonic era.
    Key Features:
    • A new and independent Iberian Peninsula campaign map featuring 32 controllable regions.
    • 5 new Guerrilla unit types, recruitable by all nations, adept at battlefield stealth and with the added ability to deploy outside of their faction's deployment zones: Tiradores (Skirmisher Infantry), Cazadores, Lanceros (Lancer Cavalry), Husares (Light Cavalry), Leader (General).
    • 28 new units in total, spread across the three playable nations including the British 95th Rifles, the French Vistula Uhlans and the Spanish Coraceros Espanoles.
    • Two new agents to enforce political conversion:
    • Provocateurs (French and British nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions, incite unrest, decreases turn time for research and passively spy.
    • Priests (Spanish and Portuguese nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions and incite unrest.
    • A new Guerrillero agent for the Spanish nation: similar to a Spy but with the new ability to Harass enemy armies - lock them in place for a turn and cause them attrition.
    • Political Alignment system which sees the French battle to increase pro-French sentiment throughout the peninsula.
    About Coalition Battle Pack
The Coalition Battle Pack features 6 brand new units and contains the Battle of Friedland fought between France and Russia.
The Battle of Friedland (14 June, 1807) with Napoleon's empire at its height, he took a chance and defeated Russia in detail, knocking them out of the war and bringing the Fourth Coalition to an end.
    Unit Descriptions:
    • Lifeguard Hussars: This fast light cavalry unit is best used for dealing with skirmishers and artillery who can attack from long range.
    • Coldstream Guards: Disciplined, well-trained and respected, these elite foot guards inspire nearby troops in battle.
    • Archduke Charles' Legion: This highly-disciplined line infantry regiment excels at weapons drill and accuracy.
    • Luetzow's Freikorps: Swift light cavalry, the riders of Luetzow’s Freikorps are excellent in melee and on the charge.
    • Life Hussars: Sabre-armed light cavalry, the Life Hussars are powerful on the charge and effective in melee combat.
    • Semenovski Lifeguard: Immaculately turned out, these elite guards have excellent morale and are superb when used against skirmish troops and artillery.

Just started my first campaign in Napoleonic War, chose Prussia because my great grandparents were Prussian immigrants and I’m having more fun then I expected. Allied the Russians so I didn’t have to worry about my Eastern side and right now I’m making Napoleon regret he ever declared war on me

If I remember what I learnt in GCSE history classes many years okay correctly - Napoleon changed the national animal of France from the Gallic rooster to the imperial eagle. 🦅

Looking forward to this, whenever I play as prussia (my favourite) I always find there's some trigger point and EVERYONE just decides "right, that's enough of prussia". Admittedly that is on darthmod.

Prussia was my favourite country to play as it was probably the most challenging , surrounded as it is by nearly all the major powers.
Historically France had taken Hanover from Britain (George III was its Elector) while Cleves had been Prussian since 1701 (technically the French had taken it in 1794 and Prussia didn't get it back until 1815).
Taking Hanover and uniting your lands is a good first move but it will bring France and its allies against you which will see the Dutch threatening Cleves first so make certain that army can hold on. If the Austrians and Russians do well in Bavaria you won't have to worry too much of a French reaction as they will be focused in Southern Germany and Northern Italy.
Taking the Batavian Republic is your best aim as taking that gives you Amsterdam and its massive port which allows you to explode your trade capacity. Taking Flanders is a good buffer and then you have a threat against France itself. The wealth here far exceeds anything the small German states can offer and you are not alienating more and more countries while you are weaker. As always try to avoid more than one front to fight. Besides Louis Ferdinand and Blucher your generals are old and tired and not very good until late in the campaign (1810+).
Saxony and Hesse can be a pain to take and it will alienate the Austrians who are just vindictive enough to try and win the Seven Years War and invade Silesia so think very carefully before attacking Saxony.
Basically watch how the Coalition armies are doing in Southern Germany and get your armies ready on the Hanoverian border while fortifying Cleves. Take Hanover, unite with the Cleves army and push on to Amsterdam. Take the Batavian Republic then try and go to peace with France to allow you to consolidate your new acquisitions before France gets around to declaring war on you again.
    Good Luck

I think Saxony would be an easy take and build national morale. We desperately need warships to protect our merchants or they will be picked off by marauding frigates.

You should take down Saxony. It is a good income but they start alot if revolts in the begining but if you have troops and improve their administrativ building they will be fine.
Gunsmith makes it cheaper buying troops.
Can you watche the build browser in Berlin? What to see what buildings you have 😊

I just found your video and since I have always enjoyed Napoleon I gave it a look One thing that you can do on turn one is take Saxony and Mecklenburg before they are allied with anyone getting you and extra trade port in Mecklenburg and trade tech like fire and advance [which is worthless ] with Austria / Briton for tech you want .I have enjoyed your campaign and plan on watching more of your Prussian saga thanks for your great work

IRL, the British made the best ally for Prussia(they loaned Prussia a lot of money). Don't know if the game reflects this. Russia would be second for me as an ally. Clip Austria and smash France(in order to secure the German States)when ready.

I’m sure this has been answered as I’m a little late to the game but the Gallic Rooster is the French national animal. It is the symbol of the French people because of the play on words of the Latin gallus meaning Gaul and gallus meaning coq, or rooster (apparebtly, the Romans thought the Gauls looked like they had ‘chicken heads’)
Coolest national animal is definitely ours (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿). Scotland’s national animal is, and this is true, the unicorn 🦄

You need to crush Saxony in the first turn with your Army in Brandenburg. Wait too long and all kinds of alliances are in place.. Now attacking the smaller German states will drag Austria in a war you can’t afford.

🦅 Preußens Gloria! I’m jumping onboard for this campaign. I sadly missed your British adventures. I would watch Austria and Russia closely. Being either too weak or too aggressive will entice them to attack you. I’m not sure immediately going straight at France is the best option, as your troop options and most of your generals are Seven Years’ War types and Napoleon’s are modern. It seems the better option would be to either go after the Dutch (💰money!!) or try to unify the independent German states (⚡️💪🏼power!!). The Dutch might embroil you with France, the German states (non-French controlled) might entangle you with Austria or Russia. You should concentrate your forces in one direction, aim for a quick war, and quickly sue for peace upon victory (or if things are dire). Gott mit uns!

I like to drop the taxes on the lower class from the start. Also upgrade roads in every province.
    This promotes growth.
What's left of the $6000 on the first turn I upgrade the farms, limber camps etc. As they appear as growth continues I keep upgrading them.
You don't have much money to start with but it pays off.
With the armies you start with you are still able to make some gains on Saxony Hannover etc without too much trouble.
Try not to recruit too many troops as you need this money for upgrading the buildings.
Once your growth has produced you a lot of new buildings you will start seeing an ok profit. Put the lower classes tax back up to medium and this profit will x3 You'll be making bank.
