Fixing my $1000 car for less than $300

One of the best engines they made but they are prone to oil burning , clogged pcv valves and if you dont have the over drive button on the gear shift it will be wound up on the freeway and go up steep hills slowly.

is there a fix ????? besides pcv valve replacement ??
