I bartend in a really nice restaurant in Charlotte. We have an amazing burger. 20% percent surcharge for cooking and bringing the burger?? That’s insane. Never heard of that in my life. I would be embarrassed to have to tell a customer about the surcharge.
Tipping is yet one more way that corporations and businesses and owners - capitalism and heirarchies - pass their costs off onto working people. Meaning you have to pay the waiters. Another way they set us against each other. Glad Peter noted this.
Yeahhhhh I wouldn’t be paying that. That isn’t how a business works. You gotta show that upfront somewhere. You cant have hidden cost. It must be noted. That’s 💯 a lawsuit if not noted somewhere.
That is true because I was down in Miami just passed weekend and they don’t put that on their bill. It’s a gratitude which is usually like 10 to 15% not including tip so I don’t know why these restaurants are starting to do this because they’re waiters are not sharing with the cook I don’t know none of my business, but when I see a gratitude on the receipt, you know I’ll be like well at the tip for the waiter and they’ll be like no let me ask you something. Why am I paying for this and the waiters doing all the work only cook is doing slapping on the ground frying it upor you already charge 30 $40 for the damn piece of meat I work in the meat industry and I know meat prices are high but they ain’t that damn high just saying just saying
i never pay a fast food worker or barista a tip that shows up on the screen. It may look rude but idc im not paying someone extra to do their normal job, that's the owner's responsibility
@@zachstolpa6521 business owners would automatically have to increase wages, if customers stop tipping cashiers, baristas, and fast food workers. This would happen because employees would end up quitting, which would eventually force employers to start paying them more if they want people to work for them
@@zachstolpa6521 and no i don't complain about people who don't want to work for low wages. I tell business owners to pay their employees more if they are having issues finding employees. Businesses have already raised the prices for the products they provide, due to an increased cost of materials, and now they expect the customer to cover a decent portion of their employees wages too

Michael is 100% correct and a good guy for giving the tip anyway
Bingo, the person at fault for this being in place is the boss.
It's a scam. American employers need to pay a living wage or get the f- out of business.
The point of business is to make money why the fuck would anyone do anything that makes them less?
Didn't recover from the summer of love !

It’s pathetic what bosses do because they don’t have the guts to do themselves

Ban service fees in restaurants
Why do customers have to pay for the food and the employees wage
I noticed tip suggestions on tabs went from 10%, 15%, 18% to 15%, 18%, 20%
@@ShakiraTwittersonn tips aren’t service fees you dunce

it’s the metropolitan grill and yes it’s in lieu of tipping because the server is salary, and the server purposely left that part out 😂😂😂
@@shasavi97This isn’t true. The get $5 an hour and 10% of sales on food.
I agree with this yankee fan this time 😂.
still cheaper than 5 guys

Then the waiters and waitresses get taxed on tips. Let's get Donald Trump elected and tax on tips will stop!!
