So glad you were finally able to make this video. Been waiting for it ever since that mail time video where you opened it. I’ve had one of the Italian versions for months now and love it!
Sold. Congrats on 250k brother!! Glad to be a long time supporter!!
I live in texas I can open carry a sword if I wanted to
Your Average Citizen do it
Jay Camacho whole point about carrying is to not let people know you are so I most likely wouldn’t but you’ll see the occasional katana it’s pretty funny
Same with Canada. In fact, they would rather you open carry a sword than conceal carry a 3” folder. Makes a lot of sense eh? Although no weapon or tool can be used for self defence purposes or you will go to jail. Knives are for utilitarian purposes, not for protection here or your fucked.
but not brass knuckles lol
GOOD.
What a great review! You really showed the viewers what the knife looks like and how it works and fits in the hand. Thank you.
Nice video man,enjoyed it!
Great that you've already reached 250.000 subs, you deserve it!
Got in on the folder preorder! Definitely going to be my new EDC knife! 🐼🐼🐼
Literally was just wondering about these knives back from your mail time cause I wanted one. You the man.
I’ve kept a Colonel on my ballistic vest for a few years now. Really like it.
Knife designs like this are extremely fluid and intuitive. In fencing, the standard foil (straight sword) is not used typically, but rather a foil with a handle and blade angle just like this. Thanks for this, I might pick one of these up! Subscribed!
Thanks, welcome to the channel!
I absolutely prefer the American foil with this style of curve! So much better tip control! And as a fighter I can say they line up with the structure of your wrist bones and that's everything when delivering power.
Both are very nice, I really like the Italian one. Congratulations on the 250k!!! Keep em coming Talon!!!
Thank you David!
I've stopped carrying a knife separate from my multitool, but that folder's got me reconsidering. Looks pretty sweet!
Just ordered one Colonel Folder. I was tempted to get a karambit for a while now, but glad I held off on the temptation.
I love your videos Talon, especially for the diversity of products you cover, but man they are hazardous to the health of my bank account. Definitely picking up the foldable version when they're available for pre-order in November. Keep up the great content, congrats on 250k, you've earned it!
It's really sad that this company had shut down. The folding colonel blade is one of the best EDC knives. I still have not seen any other company make anything similar.
I was a fool and only bought 1 when they were available. Wish a grabbed another before it went out of business.
I really like this Concept ! Thanks great video 👍
YES!! I have been hoping they would come out with one of these. Can't carry fixed blades in my state
Dont quote me, but concealing a fixed blade is illegal in some states. Carry a folder is usually ok.
Sweet vid man keep up the good work.
Great looking knife!! Great video also! Keep up the great work boss!
Bro! Keep up the good work. Great dedication! Love the content!
Thanks brotha!
I really like the locking design of the knife
Excited for this one
Lets go, love your videos
That thing looks awesome
I love the folder. I wish it was available in my country.
Great video by the way.
The folder looks pretty cool
Cool informative video. Thanks for sharing mate.
Dude love the video bro really want one of those knives
I been thinking about replacing my edc knife to something like this in all black that looks a bit more tactical. Thanks for the vid!
Need to get me one of these for sure!
I'm definitely looking into this
Awesome blade!!!
I used to box when I was a kid and never really worried about my safety to much, but I carry a push knife from a popular maker and have never had to use it. Thats a karambit a nice one with that trigger ring but its a karambit.
Great video keep up the good work
Never seen this but it’s sick thanks man
thnx 4 sharing -good no-nonsense advice
Love the review talon you really are the best show on RUclips big fan bro....
Thanks William!
I tried to order one of their folders from their website. The website
said they were out of stock, but I could sign up to receive notification
when they get some back in stock. The notification function didn't
work, so I sent them a Facebook message asking them about it. After
several days, they finally replied, but they didn't really answer my
question. So, I commented on one of their posts, telling them I've been
trying to get a straight answer from them for about a week. Instead of
reaching out to me with anything that could be construed as customer
service, they BLOCKED ME! Are you kidding me?! Now, I've made it my
personal hobby to tell everyone I know online, and in person about the
AT&T-like customer service I received from Colonel Blades. They
WILL answer my question "When will your folders be back in stock?" one
way or another.
I just tried going on their site today and all their social media sites. Their shop is empty and all their social media sites are gone. 🤔
Roger Ta - I guess they didn’t block me then. Looks like the company is going under. That’s a shame.
Yup. Still nothing. I guess the shut down the business.
Wow if they company really shutdown I guess all the colonel knives right now are really valuable since production closed down.
@@GCasey, I gave up on these guys, but check out the Clinch Pick from Shivworks. It's a cool little blade. I love mine!
Sweet! This would be a great supplemental option in places where I can't carry concealed.
Slick knife!
USMC knife handling when I was in was part of our daily p.t. so it's like tying shoes for grunts from my era. At times I would rather have a knife.
Deam! the new hotline miami looks awesome
Great blades
love your vids
Hi I'm starting self devence and this knife would really help me out and keep up all the great and awesome videos
Carry my lo viz everyday at work. Was hot when I got the email of the folder...couldnt afford both. Definitely in my future.
I have the folder. And i love it.
I carry it daily. Use it at work alot. Its a very handy work knife.
I originally bought for when i rode the bus to work. It would be good at tight areas. But the downside to me. If someone had a large knife, i would feel overmatched. But would be a lot better than nothing.
But still my favorite edc folding knife. The ulu has great potential also, but slightly larger.
I would love that!
The design makes sense
I didn't have much interest until you showed that folder blade. I'm in Canada, where no one really carries a gun. I've always wanted some kind of self defense, but could never justify carrying anything purely for defense. That folder blade would be awesome as an EDC knife + self defense knife.
I never trusted myself to use a normal knife for self defense, but the fist filler / punch stab action of this blade makes sense to me
As long as you can spin a good story that it isnt a self defence knife but a tool, then youre good
Thanks to you I just bought the last colonel combo kit 😂
That bih dope af
Thing is pretty sweet
Thanks
Haha I knew that was you in that carry trainer video where they covered the colonel blade!! Was thinking... I know that beard!lol
Attach the fixed blade to a pocket shield and the curved shape will translate well to the pocket, I've been carrying a h&k/benchmade plan D that way. Also, you can still carry appendix, just carry opposite of your firearm and draw with your support hand.
Spyderco Introvert? Solves all the issues........ EDC'ing it for over a year now. Killer knife.
I know you said that you would always just use it in a punching style but the reverse grip is the best grip for extremely close quarters (kissing distance as some would joke). I trust you are a truly decent person as well as anyone else reading this so use this info with your best judgment and not to harm anyone outside of defending yourself.
Hey! Keep up with the great videos! Quick question, what's are some good ways to carry a knife and a gun? Thanks
Yes that flipper is great.
Colonel Blades are a great design but just like you, I carry my firearm AIWB plus I don't believe I can carry a fixed blade concealed here in Michigan. The Colonel folder is the perfect answer! Thanks for the great video as always Talon! Your channel ROCKS!!
I thought they legalized all knives in michigan
As of right now, in 2022, you cannot conceal carry a fixed blade of any length in Michigan.
Just ordered mine
awesome video!!!I keep them coming please sir !!I want that folding blade ✌✌✌
Thanks for watching Carlos!
I carry the low viz version as my edc since I can't carry my gun at work I like it
Good content buddy
Just bought one ! :)
Bad ass knife
Its been years since Al has given any classes. He gave a class or two with Carry Trainer(saw you in the video background) and Northern Red. But AL has sort of vanished. Would love to take a class with him.
Great vid... interesting blade and also I like ur fold blade also in the vid what is the pocket u have?
Man I can’t even have a nail in my pocket so waving a knife for self defense is basically illegal here in the Netherlands
same here in Australia, we can only carry a knife if its for work or another "prescribed" purpose. In Australia our self defense laws are flimsy, and dangerous.
You have a link for the folder one
Wow, terrible! I hope you can at least carry pepper spray or a kubotan or something. Even a self defense ink pen can do the job. I'm in Texas...we can carry daggers, switchblades, guns. No brass knuckles though, you will go to jail for that!
Ja echt he ik vind messen echt super leuk om te hebben maar die regen zijn zo stom
Tactical pens. Steel toed boots. skateboard hard plastic wrist guards. Tactical walking canes. Tactical briefcases. Tactical umbrellas. Tactical cell phones. Tactical personal flying cameras/weaponized drones Tactical soda cans/water bottles, filled with hot pepper oil Hire a bodyguard.
Do you know when more of these will be available? Everywhere is sold out
God I love that intro music man
nice blades
Hi, this knife looks great. I just don't know if I should get it since I already have nice push dagger. Not sure if there is any point of getting this one.
The idea makes sense. I lile them both but the flipper would be easiest to carry considering a fixed blade, where I live, is illegal to carry concealed like you would a handgun.
Personally I carry glock27 appendic carry on my strong side and tdi appendix carry on my week side just in case I should every find myself in need for a knife such as in a fight over my hand gun
I would prefer, when I can get one, either an Emerson or a Fix Knives karambit but that is just personal taste.
Such a sick knive :)
I've always believed that if you are carrying a self defense specific blade you should also have an edc utility blade as well. I've gotten pretty good at putting a wicked sharp edge on my blades and If ever needed I would want that self defense blade to be exactly as sharp as it was after I stropped it.
Did they already discontinue? I looked for it online can’t find anywhere..
I wish I could see exactly how close your fingers are to the lock-disengage button when in a full tight grip.
QUESTION: does the lock work when the knife is closed or only when it's open (I prefer the latter).
Another benefit to a dull backside to the blade is that you can put your hand on the ridge and multiply force on the cutting surface
Big reason you dont skin with daggers and most sf groups dont have dual edged blades unless its strictly for killing ie fairbarin sykes or applegate designs
Also god can you imagine grappling with someone while also trying not to get cut by the side of your tool facing you
Nasty
The Fox Dart is a really good carry knife also
My EDC is the Marcaida 5.11 Folder Karambit.
Okay......... I recommend pointed sticks. Wow kola', nice blades. Don't think I'll ever have the mazaska to trade for those, but if they need a new home, we can make sure they get one.
I would love to see you review an emerson
Love the ZT your carrying looked at that one for awhile ended up getting the Sinkevich 4.1 inch ZT model which I love still want the one u have but it’s a pricey blade one day. I have to say I hate aus-8 steel but if it’s only used for self defense I guess the steel doesn’t matter to much like a blade you’re gonna use everyday N690 on the other hand is probably one of the best stainless steels that’s not considered a super steel great steel.
What model ZT is in video?
I have been watching your videos for a while, so, how many times have you pulled your gun for self-defense? Shot someone? Do you have ccw insurance just in case?
do you think they will ever start production back up?
Again you solidify my decision to buy more gear
You have a rare knife here. They have been discontinued everywhere I look. I really wanted one too.
There's the Warrior poet society x fox Knives collaboration coming up, their model is pretty similar
@@---Michael--- thank you so much! That knife is sick, going to for sure try to pick one up.
@@ethanshrum9933 yeah it's pretty cool, really has me thinking 😂
I think that fox knifes also has the capacities to produce a lot of knifes, which seemed to be the problem with the colonel products as they aren't available anywhere
K bar has a similar knife
@@jerremycooper8659 what is it called?
I live in a state where anything goes but I travel to states where flippers and loose folders can be seen as near automatic and cause trouble with the law. I bought the low Viz fixed and with a 2.75 blade I'm legal in those odd liberal states even with the way the knife looks. Yes the price is higher than some competitors but I went for the USA made label and some good marketing on their part. When I bought it they cut the price on a tac pen I'd wanted for when I fly and can't bring a knife or gun. Yes a tac pen is just a strong pointy object but it's something when I have nothing else. There are other options but if you can afford this one I'd say it's a good choice
@talon which knife is that one you show at the beginning?
Is the fixed blade legal to conceal carry in New Jersey and Philadelphia?
Any idea why they aren't available anymore? I keep seeing rumors of "personal issues" but haven't gotten the whole story. They aren't available for purchase or backorder anywhere and the link on the Colonel Blades site goes to nothing when you try to purchase one.
I want one!
What was the other knife? ZT?
I’m in!!!!
Great thing... alas, I think that it's not allowed in Holland / have to look into the law here ... good concept and talk, thanks
And , wow, that flipper thing... man that looks great! This flipper must be legal in Holland as a normal pocketknife.
You should hold a straight blade with the back side of the blade along your forearm for combat
#TalolSei yo love the videos man keep up the good work. Could you possibly do a flashlight EDC in the future?
