So smart how she soloed in a way you could hear them both individually but teddy not drowning her out with his deep voice. Yes. She won American idol. I believe
Yeah, I thought Teddy held back. Both did actually. I can’t listen to his song without her accompanying now. This was amazing.
They both held back. Especially Kelly. If you watch any of the duets she has done on her show she always holds back and let the other person shine.

I love this duet! I can’t listen to the original version anymore because I love this version so much!! Kelly most definitely held back to let Teddy have his moment. She is a very gracious duet partner. She is a huge fan of Teddy & really just wanted to sing with him! She mainly did bgvs but it still added such magic to this song for me! I think he may have held back some as well. Check out Kelly’s new album Chemistry & live performances of the songs from it. So good! ❤
This performance was a last minute decision on the show, unplanned. Although they did talk through the song as to who would sing what part at what point, the performance was unrehearsed. The song is totally a solo which means that Kelly ad-libbed her duet part on the fly! That is why they both looked so happy after the song finished because they knew that they had just captured lightning in a bottle!

You said Kelly wasn't really doing the music thing anymore? She just finished a Las Vegas residency and is going back for more shows. She also sings every day on her show. She does the music thing every day.

And she let him shine which is why she's one of the best duet partners She hit those killer notes but she pulled herself a good foot and a half from the mic. I have loved him for years and I have loved her since AI and they got to run through this song sort of once That's it
Yeah.The band, both singers, and song hit a grand slam for sure. A perfect musical storm. :) I felt it and loved it.
