Yay, hard rubbish day! I love these videos. I can't believe how much stuff people throw out, but at least you're rescuing some of it. Keep up the good work.
Wow, after watching a lot of your videos and seeing this much scrap on the street in every video I just don't know how it's possible...in Australia do they only let you put that stuff out once a month or something? In America I have never seen nearly as much trash piled up outside a home before...
It's really nice to find a scrapped out pc with everything just sitting there waiting for you to depopulate/sale Then the next pile you get another motherboard, slot card, hard drive and more! Yay, Fun Fun Fun!!!
You tittled it very well. PC mayhem and cord food, Very appropriate considering that may have been the best scrap day with what you got in the minutes you put in!!! Not to mention the Caliper, WOW!!! I'm amazed at the things people throw in the trash. I've found many, many things. The best was an antique rocking chair that I picked up because I was always wanting to get a regular one (not an antique). I just never got around to buying one. I looked it up when I got home and found that it was OVER A HUNDRED YEARS OLD, & valued at $1,600.00 at the low end some have SOLD for as much as $4,000.00, I couldn't believe that someone thought it to be TRASH!! But My Treasure!!!!!
I live in Indiana. The city I live in has a heavy trash day the 1st week of every month. Here it's similar to what Ben is getting, he does have the edge because there's so much scrap (actually to much to go through) here we have it 12 times a year to what Ben has once or twice a year. You can predict that you can get several hundred pounds of Christmas light starting in October and a.c. units & fans in April, you can pretty much tell what's going to be at the curb each month! It's really a good system. Except it brings in scrappers from 30 miles away by the dozens. But I've learned the trick to get the choice items before the out of town guys/gals do!
41:30 This looks like a x79 board. Mostly sold with i7-3820. Common issues are weak power supplies in these ebay plug n play machines. Not bad. This cpu can easy be overclocked to 4.7 Ghz with a cheap watercooler. Still a good comp today.
mozyrevo He's actually done that a few times on previous Trash Picking vids. Check some of the videos of the beginning of this year and other seasons. He's organized and stacked it, but not in time lapse.
They most certainly do in my neck of the woods. Better yet - a quick ad on CL offering to haul e-waste for free manages to get a LOT of calls. Tons of TV's and the usual PC waste. Day after normal trash pickup is best. People set out banned items, the trash men leave them, and I take them. Winner, winner!
Australia seems so wealthy compared to the USA, based upon the trash. Around here it's scorced earth for the scrappers. You pass up more metal than I've collected... but I am a part time amateur.
Nice caliper score. There are a lot of fake Mitutoyos out there. If they read out to 4 decimal places, 0.0000 in imperial, then they are the real deal. If it shows only 3 decimal places then they are fake.
In the states they do, they prefer if they can see the ##s but if theres at least 50% or more of the bill, they will take them. Some offer bank exchanges to doing it by mail.
the digital calipers are top quality,we use them at my 2nd job, machine plastics on cnc, lathes etc ,boss dropped his the other day,no good now.handle with care ben.
Hey if you Remember the Street of that photocoppy machine ? you can go back and ask them if they want to get them from you ? obviusly you get them with PCs and you said plenty of times that you dont like to scrap them out - Wish you Luck with that hope it works out .
Have you ever tried to fix some of the laptops you get when getting a batch of the same model? You could make some decent cash selling them plus usage to part of the lcds
Certain companies buy digital goods like motors, circuit boards by weight, the laser diodes in DVD and especially blu ray players can sell for quite a bit, lots of value in things that all add up :) remotes, stepper motors in printers, fans, etc. And if you can handle it, taking small fridges, washing machines and dryers, old water heaters, for a great amount of material for not alot of time. Just add a few big tubs to the van and sort it out later lol. I like to hoard in bulk and take them/sort efficiently. Drill, mallet, Long screwdriver bits and my favourite for big stubborn items, my trusty sledgehammer haha. Steel generally isn't worth it unless you have a big van and space for a drum to fit all the leftover panels and plates to sell.
Can do ebay, online and sell boxes of assorted diodes maybe, might be lucky to find an electronics shop or ewaste buyer but dont expect as much. If it has a CD/DVD burning capability the lasers are alot stronger and where most of the real value is. Careful if you want to test it though, you can really hurt yourself. Still, its free money rather than throwing it in the dump, sometimes good components get missed in favour of finding metal content
Me too. I try to see up, down, right and left. They all do a great job filming and editing the videos, I wish I could actually find half of the good stuff Ben finds.
When your street scrapping like this , is that a normal weekly accumulation of trash on the streets or is that like where I live in the state of Oklahoma a yearly citywide free trash cleanup
Hello Ben, I have a question about a small Dell computer tower and the Hard Drive is locked. Do you think that if I buy a new Hard Drive that the tower will work? Or will it become locked also? Thanks for the update.
Ben, you have to put your hand down inside the crack under the cushions of the couch sides and the back. I have found money, remote controls, toys, keys and a complete set of manicure kit held together with one of the pull chains like you find on the ceiling fan.
I've been watching your videos since the top ten valuable cpus and seeing you pick up multiple PCs, that got me wondering, what's the chance I can find a PC or Projector in a Texas suburban neighborhood?
Sometimes I do when I have space but at the moment i'm cleaning up & winding down for holidays, when I come back i'll have a better setup to handle more space taking stuff like pots & pans
It’s always funny to watch people who don’t understand what is and is not valuable for recycling, try and sell you on why their junk is good for you to take...lol.
Scores like that is exactly why I love scrapping
Your sidewalks are paved with gold and copper. You're living in a scrapers paradise
Yay, hard rubbish day! I love these videos. I can't believe how much stuff people throw out, but at least you're rescuing some of it. Keep up the good work.
You had an awesome haul. You are Blessed by the scrap Gods.Another great video.
Listening to you bubble about those calipers as a huge smile on my face. I would have been pretty pumped with them also.
Your videos are always enjoyable. Thank you!
Another top notch video by eWaste Ben. Thank you.

Oddly satisfying watching you scrapping, so I subscribed. 😊
I think because of my childhood and looking through trash that these are my favorite videos from u ben

gnarf.. I wish garbage days would look like this here again.
U have to call in individually for getting rid of bulky garbage.

heck yeah man! nice caliper score. i curb scored some skookum starrett dial indicators the other day, i share your excitement
loved the video....just can't get use to you driving on thar side of the street....it would be a disaster here in USA! lol
American scrappers would be drooling at what's in just one street!
J DeWitt I now what your saying scrapvulture would have a whale of a time getting all this stuff!
J DeWitt and taco stacks

Wow nice digital calipers, I saw the box and recognized it right away. Nice score...

Mitutoyo is top quality gear
Yep they are. Ive seen ones of 500mm and 1000mm. Amazing to see.
just what ben picked up is broken lol

Yeah they are top of the line!
today's cheap chinese version are knock off of the original japanese model. Great score ben
Nice one Ben I missed you this weekend. Maybe I'll catch up next weekend
Happy for you on your finds. Great videos.
10:40 turkish caliper (kumpas) wonderful :))))))))))
40:26
It's not the coins or lighters, but the odd gold or silver jewelry that find their way into the couches I look for.
Great vid again ben - would love you to process all your haul in a big time lapse so we can see how you sort and process a street scrap haul
mozyrevo He's actually done that a few times on previous Trash Picking vids. Check some of the videos of the beginning of this year and other seasons. He's organized and stacked it, but not in time lapse.
Another fun scrap day, thanks
If i lived there i would always have free pc upgrades. walk down the street and do shopping on the sidewalk or open my own pc shop. lol
Yeah and you would have 100+ DVD drives!
There was money in them Macbook boxes for future reference they bring decent money on eBay.
when he chucks a motherboard i been looking for for a while in the van ouch
omg, I would have picked these radio batteries, you could diy battery pack for laptops or ebikes, and sell them for like 300 dollars on ebay
It amazes me how many PCs you pick up. In America and Britain nobody would put out a pc in the trash!
Me too. I find pc's on the curb alot. I live in the center of the U.S.
As allways brilliant video cool stuff keep them coming 👍👍
Thanks for sharing Ben
Easy money, those cords! As Scrap Vulture says, they're bread and butter. Awesome score. Get some rest, Ben!
Can’t believe you found that caliper.right up there with starertt. Hope its still in calibration!
Australia seems so wealthy compared to the USA, based upon the trash. Around here it's scorced earth for the scrappers. You pass up more metal than I've collected... but I am a part time amateur.
Greg Fridholm US doesn’t throw out anywhere near the stuff Oz is throwing away.
Like a kid on christmas when you found that caliper 😂. I do the same especially if its a tool or something ive been wanting & its over $50 😅
Nice caliper score. There are a lot of fake Mitutoyos out there. If they read out to 4 decimal places, 0.0000 in imperial, then they are the real deal. If it shows only 3 decimal places then they are fake.

Annette Petrin We dont throw anywhere near this much stuff out in USA, Oz is a goldmine compared to USA.
the digital calipers are top quality,we use them at my 2nd job, machine plastics on cnc, lathes etc ,boss dropped his the other day,no good now.handle with care ben.
your the best, bloody hell u clean up and make so much money

An awesome haul of PCs as usual.
So glad to see you wearing gloves xxoo

Man all that eWaste, that I could tinker with.
Have you ever tried to fix some of the laptops you get when getting a batch of the same model? You could make some decent cash selling them plus usage to part of the lcds
8:51 looks like the $318 plant 🤔 say it isn’t so 🙏 love the channel and will keep watching either way
They upgraded from that Toshiba to a couple Macbook Pros!!!!!
You can always sell the calipers on eBay and buy one that's adequate and use the cash for the fridge.

Thats a good scrap run man!

keep eating something mate dont starve! I would like to see some more videos hahaha ;-)
Fun
like the way you handle the stuff you find. o this is nice-BLAM just trow it in the van
Dood you are passing up tons of good stuff that would sell on eBay easy. Even the empty used cases will sell.
Am I the only one that 'ducks' down to get a better view of the road ahead when he's driving? Just asking lol.
I do it all the time.
I've said asked the same question in one of the previous videos.
Me too. I try to see up, down, right and left. They all do a great job filming and editing the videos, I wish I could actually find half of the good stuff Ben finds.
Yeah bud I do that on vids sometimes not just Ben's either.
great vid mate when you gonna do a vid going to the scrapyard again or a challenge injoy them vids what drew me too this channel :)
Take that bill to the bank. They will give you cash.
The $10 note is probably ok at shops. If it didn't have the window thing it wouldn't be but you got the good side. Should have got ya lunch with it
When your street scrapping like this , is that a normal weekly accumulation of trash on the streets or is that like where I live in the state of Oklahoma a yearly citywide free trash cleanup
Sorry you missed out on the cashless lounge suit try and try again Ben.
Do you scrappers hate “cord cutters”
I only pay $35 for my callipers now i own 3 wow Ben what a score
awesome score
Who the Hell throws out perfectly good tools?
Mitutoyo. TOP SHELF!!!!!
Should do a house tour

you still need to load windows onto the new hard drive, best to try bypass the password, not my speciality
Good finds!
Make sure it's not the Chinese clone of the Mitutoyo. AVE has a good video about it.
I still think you need a simple box trailer to throw the scrap steel and throw the more valuable stuff in the van
you missed getting the fan, u can get free copper coils from inside the motors
dude. some of those gaming cases could be worth up to 200 bucks and maybe more.......
Yeah you can sell decent looking cases especially if you score say a thermaltake for $25-80 on gumtree/facebook/ebay
I've been watching your videos since the top ten valuable cpus and seeing you pick up multiple PCs, that got me wondering, what's the chance I can find a PC or Projector in a Texas suburban neighborhood?
don't know but the pc's would be huge there, everything's big in Texas I hear
hahaha
Oy Ben could you scrap out an old vinyl record player?
I love it
I picked up a laptop yesterday and i wasnt even looking. Lol!
Asoume find Ben good work.
Why No pots and Pans Ben?? Love your vids
Sometimes I do when I have space but at the moment i'm cleaning up & winding down for holidays, when I come back i'll have a better setup to handle more space taking stuff like pots & pans
Do hoses not have brass for the connector in Australia? I never see you look and I’m curious
We do have brass fitting, but lots of plastic ones too.
Maybe they have plastic connectors like in Europe.
Thanks I’ve never been to Europe or Australia and was curious. Thanks
We do have brass connectors but they are less common because they are like 10 times more expensive.
Some of those TV's must work?
Full speed ahead Ben.
Ben, how much do you usually get out of a run-of-the-mill PC?
52:55 I want that Toyota Camry manual..
Quick question, how come you get excited for DVD players, but always seem to pass on car radios??? It's still a cd drive.
Possibilities I can think of: The board's not as good. Car radios are harder to get into/take apart. Some might be older radios without a CD drive.
Haha $8 bill. Can you up date us on what the bank says?
Why are people throwing out so much stuff?! I never find this much!
Did the bank take the 10 dollars ?
100-300+ for a vernier gauge??? they are only 15 quid on amazon lol had mine a few years now use often and workers perfectly
How often people left their private data on those PCs, photos, videos, online account passwords etc.?
If its a hard drive and not an SSD then the memory is still stored regardless. It is simply 'marked' deleted by the hard drive.
I know but there is software that can be used to wipe free space with several passes of random data or you can boot DBAN and wipe whole hard drive.
It’s always funny to watch people who don’t understand what is and is not valuable for recycling, try and sell you on why their junk is good for you to take...lol.
Please can you let me know in advance when you go out scrapping. Because I'm on holiday and slightly drunk .. love you all. Xxxoooo
Luv you Mexicans over the boarder friends xxx
Great vid mate with suburb is this?
I think it's Kingston
HEY I HAVE A SOCKET 754 AMD SEMPRON,DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO,IS THIS ITEM SELLABLE IN EBAY ????????
Scrap it its a piece of shit
hey ben good video
Leaving stuff like this piled up in the streets is so absurd, in Finland you have to take your trash yourself to recycling center and PAY for that...
Don't need to finish the video to know this is the best find by far. 9:57
I've always Wondered what wood come easier losing an American accent or an Australian losing there's basically swap accents
I think american accents are easier to pick up and harder to lose
this Digimatic Caliper we use mutch in Europ Industrial this cost new around 30€ so wtf 300$ price tag is stupid
ben the cord cutter
