    My daughter has recently showed me one of these but it was sewn with cloth. That was a bib type apron and held more eggs. I will show her this and see if she would like this. We have chickens also but my husband seems to think he would smash the eggs while bending over and tending to the other duties. Thanks for this great tutorial. It was fun.

    Cute, cute pattern and good idea about the belt and underneath pocket.
    One suggestion. I have trouble dealing with the small pins. What I used were hair curler picks that I found in a bathroom drawer! They work just like stick pins in fabric. I don’t know if they even still sell these but they are perfect for holding together crochet/knitting for assembly.

      @CrochetWithTiffany  10 дней назад

      My apologies. Apparently I did not record that information which doesn't make any sense but I can't seem to find the dimensions. When I was creating this pattern I must have made the assumption that people could customize this egg apron to fit their own body best and so didn't provide a one-size. If memory serves me correctly, I believe the egg strips are 3 inches long or tall to just cup the egg. This pattern can be really easy to make using a tape measure and measurements. I hope you enjoy the process of making this egg apron to fit you best. 🤗💖🧶

I have made a few of them and have a few suggestions, I hope you don't mind... for each pouch I skiped 3, instead of your 2, makes them so much more secure. Also we found that the weight of the eggs, pulled the apron down, so I added a strap around the neck to keep the apron from falling off. Thank you.😊

    Hi Tiffany! That's an adorable apron! I'm a chicken owner with a cloth/sewn egg apron. The concern about the eggs falling out isn't necessary; when I bend over, the weight of the eggs pulls the apron forward, keeping the apron in a vertical position. I love the inside pocket; mine doesn't have that!

    Love the apron great idea, I have a friend that has chickens and would love to make her one. I have a suggestion why can’t you just make a long strip and then measure the size of the pocket and then sew the side to make it much easier unless tedious. Just an idea I’m gonna try that.

      Hi Sandy! I can’t wait for you to make this egg apron! You can absolutely make one long strip instead of 5 individual pouches. It can be a little tedious making all the pouches even on a long strip but it can be done! Whatever way works best for you, do it! 😁🤗❤️🧶

    Sorry don't know anyone with chickens at this time but ages ago I knew a family who had chickens and you had to watch for 1 rooster because he would peck at you and chase you if he could so children wouldn't go into the pen; he had chickens who laid blue/green eggs, brown eggs and white eggs this would have been perfect and when I was in grade school we had chickens so it would have been great then to; would duck eggs or goose eggs fit in the pockets; my father loved these eggs too

    Hey Tiffany, I have a question.
    I recently learned to do the chainless foundation row. I find that my stitches are far more uniform when I use this method. Will that change anything from your pattern on the belt portion? Instead of chaining one and moving on to the next row up, I flip the foundation and crochet my first row on the bottom row of stitches to keep the bottom edge looking nice and looking like the final row on the other end as well. I just was unsure if I could translate that into a round.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +1

      Hi Samantha! That is a great question. I think the chainless foundation could work with the belt as long an you are able to make those 4 stitches in the first and last stitch space. I haven't played with the chainless foundation row yet to have a firm understanding of what it can and cannot do but if you are able to accomplish everything I do in the pattern with the chainless foundation then go for it! 👍🏻🤗😊🧡🧶

    I’m making this as a gift but not sure what to do for the belt. Is there one size fits most length you would suggest?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  8 месяцев назад

      Great question! It can be tricky making a wearable item as a gift. Yes! The belt size I created in this pattern is for a one-size-fits-most. I put a lot of thought into that when deciding how long to make it. The adjustable clasps help with that so much so even if you have to take them to the very edge of the straps you can, whereas you would be able to do that if you had to tie them behind you. 😊🧶❤️

  • @dorothy5111
    @dorothy5111 2 года назад +1

    How would I change the size for children?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад

      Great question Dorothy! I would take the Main Body of the Egg Apron shorter by 10-20 stitches (Depending on the size of the child). This will also impact how many egg pouches will fit. Maybe make and place the egg pouches as you go so you don't make too many. And hold off of actually attaching the egg pouches until you play with placement. 👍🏻😊🧡🧶

    How long should the apron be before assembly?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  8 месяцев назад +1

      Great question. To me it looked short. But once everything was put together it ended up being the length you see in the pictures and the video. Those are the exact dimensions I am teaching in the pattern. You can absolutely add rows and if you want to remove a row of pockets you can for something shorter. The yarn you use will also affect how the project turns out. If it's thinner yarn, the dimensions of the apron will be smaller. I hope this helps. I do not have my egg aprons anymore. I gifted them to my neighbor who has chickens. 🤗🧶❤️🐔

    It would have been a whole lot easier to just make 3 long panels & sew to divide into pockets.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад

      That really depends on the crocheter. I have actually made this egg apron both ways, long strips and individual pouches. Honestly, fussing with the long strip wasn’t much easier. Still had to secure down with a lot of stitch markers and still I swear getting those pockets sewn evenly took some work. When designing this new apron I purposely made the individual pouches. But again, neither way is better.
