I’m grateful this was documented, even with only one camera. We composed this piece spontaneously following the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. The studio was big and had us far apart, which makes it challenging to breathe together with the music. I was surprised that the piece came together so well, like a song. Our videographer Adrien was exploring with us too, not knowing when the song would end. To me, playing free means listening to and trusting one another, as we’re pulled into the unknown - thanks to Reuben Rogers and Eric Harland for being part of the journey. - Joey
