- In this video, I am taking a closer look at the One Piece anime. Let me know what you think of the anime itself.
One Piece has been airing for over 20 years! But, has the quality of the animation evolved? Is the pacing awful?
The adventure, characters and world building all make One Piece fantastic. But, this has been created by Oda. What have Toei brought to the table themselves?

I'd rather watch 1 good episode 4 times a month than 4 bad episodes within a month.
Id rather skip filler than have to sit through dragged out “canon” episodes.
The manga is usually easy to read honestly.When it comes one piece anime it’s sadly not consistent especially when you watch it weekly and while it’s better at bingewatching and I would say it’s a mixed bag the anime watcher
At this point there is no way they will turn it to a seasonal anime, no other studio would take that challenge as well. So I’ll just stick to readin the manga and watching scenes that elevates the manga
Yeah they won’t make it seasonal, but was suggesting it would benefit greatly if it was. I feel like how you consume One Piece seems to be the majority lately. Everyone comes back to see certain scenes animated.

One piece really deserves reanimation like Hunter x hunter hope they reanimate all these episodes with good pacing

I've been reading and watching the series since 2005. The anime never really bothered me too much until Dressrosa, but then again I appreciate the difficulty of being a weekly show when Oda has to take regular breaks to maintain his health. A part of me wishes that we just get week breaks here and there to allow Oda to push ahead. I'll be though, as someone who grew up in the 90s animation doesn't bother me as much as it does for younger audiences and I'm here for the narrative not flashy animation... it's why Demon Slayer does little for me... it's okay but the story, characters, world and themes are pretty hollow in places. That said I enjoyed it, and man when Megumi Ishitani directs an episode it's something else
Dressrosa is the most turned down arc ever, imagine 200+ episode with 2 frame per second and got recap every f ing episode, it's an eyesore. New world supposedly has many island and many adventures. Now ? It's only 5 island they go and oda promised to end it in just 3 years. What a disastrous
Dont justify their laziness.
Boruto being made by way smaller company could keep the pace with unique animation and filled each episode with content, while one piece takes forever to progress anything forward, and there is only like 10 minutes each episode of story
Facts. It's shocking how many One Piece fans just accept the bare minimum like this and call it good. You can watch LITERALLY any other anime and see the difference very clearly. A few rare spectacular episodes do not fix all of the other problems with the anime.
When you watch it weekly it becomes obvious. Toei just seems lacking behind other anime studios. Perhaps way into the future they will go down the route as they did with Kai.
I wouldn’t say they accept the bare minimum, in op the animation is amazing although Toei has flaws are you gonna ignore the fact that op and dbz are still famed not only for story but for it’s art style and how exactly is it bad ?
@@naswitch493 The story being great doesn't change the fact that Toei is lazy. No the animation is not amazing. What crack are you on? 1015 doesn't excuse the other 1000 episodes of subpar animation.

Yeah I would rather see a seasonal shonen series usually I know because I have caught up with the recent episodes for one piece .I got into the anime 8 years later
I agree. The anime was fine by me, with a little bit of annoyance due to inconsistent animation. People just like it now because of it's new art style. But that was all UNTIL THIS EPISODE. Luffy was flying in base, keeping up with Hybrid Kaido without Advanced Conquerors. When he figures it out it'll have no reward. Same with, THAT.
I don't think it's toei's fault Fuji tv and shueisha want it to run weekly
Did not say it was but the weekly scheduling impacts the deadlines for Toei to meet and therefore the quality will be reduced because of the scheduling.

It’s an opinion I can respect that after all everyone likes different anime everyone is calling some anime bad when others disagree and I do I agree with some of these points you make but I still love one piece after all no anime is perfect.

The anime is trash! Watch it till the end of Fishman Island. After that read the manga!
I wouldn't say it is trash, but I agree that I found Fishman Island underwhelming. At that point I was watching weekly, awaiting the time skip and for fisherman island to feel dragged out as it was in the anime sort of killed the hype for me after the first few episodes of the time skip.

I have been following this series for more than 10 years and the pacing is really bad, but I still watch it because I love it. I don’t watch it weekly because I love to binge watch it. I watch it arc to arc by the moment I got caught up. One Piece is not the best anime but it is to me (it’s mainly subjective). And I don’t think it’ll leave that #1 spot. 🏴☠️💕

I do agree with the pacing part toei ruined it for me like the anime is 1 year behind the manga and yet toei still releases stupid fillers I feel better reading the manga its just way better then the anime and one thing super annoying is that toei loves ruining shows and I hate that
I also like how you not only showed the bad stuff about one piece but the good stuff to I respect that

My personal opinion is idc about the pacing im enjoying the show for what it is, 20min of my life every week is hardly anything, i grew up with One piece and been watching with my brother for the whole journey.
