They sure did! The thing is... NS or CSX really needs to put signals there. That car came right off Route 1, which is pretty big. This crossing has not a single sign around it -- unless you're a railfan, it's not likely you'll know to check for a train coming off the exit. And thanks! I love this street running so much.. maybe sometime soon I'll finally get an over-and-under. And that I'm not sure of... more than I think, though. I know it's at least once Sunday mornings... but I think more too
I know... I was actually gonna go out on it's last weekend on YP-MOR1... but I forgot. Oh well... but hey, now the rarest engine on NS' roster is on this train. I can't wait to see that beauty!
I think it's a P5... but the engineer was trying his best to go as lightly as possible. I'm not sure.. but I think they are supposed to be as quiet as possible due to the fact that once they come out of the street running (the street is lined with homes), they come out right in front of a busy Holiday Inn. And thank you !
Thanks, Dan! And that's cool, I didn't get to talk to him but he knew the local was coming once he saw me flying down Delmorr Ave ... um... I'll just say "way"... over the speed limit! LOL Why don't you come catch this sometime? I hear it may have my #1 favorite engine, #5290 on it sometimes.
Wait, you're coming to the Harrisburg Line? When? What parts do you plan on fanning? I can give you directions and everything you would ever need to know. PS, don't fan east of Reading on the Harrisburg Line, because there is like no traffic down there. Stay in or west of the Reading area, or east up on the Reading Line. If you're interested in catching the short lines Reading and Northern, or East Penn Rails, I'll give you that information too.
No problem, I should try it, but things have been hard lately. It's to bad that CSX 1554 was shipped out on Q418 two weeks ago, atleast I caught it in March.
Yeah... I thought that was what the typical protocol is. But, apparently the crew doesn't feel like it anymore. Did you run the train in the Conrail years or CSAO - years?
Conductor is supposed to dismount the STOPPED train and PLACE the flare on the road, then radio the engineer that he is clear to cross after which the conductor boards the train again.
your videos are a milestone keep up the good work dude
Sweet!
Great video.
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice, and very well done, great job!
You know, Dolwyn... I never knew it was active until I saw the train coming down the tracks!

Nice videos, btw the guy with the orange shirt around 2:16 hangs out at Woodbourne.
Priceless real estate!
very cool! You could have hopped on the bulkhead flatcar and gone for a ride!

I wish CSAO had they're own locomotives branded as CRQ and CR

cool catch!

Awesome video! I'll have to look for it next time I'm in Detroit.

Ill be in Altoona next weekend
Sweet vid 5*
Cool! Iam a future Conrail Engineer!
Invisible Ink conrail no longer exists it only exists as Conrail Shared Assets (CSAO).
Meant to say this earlier-horrible P5, he didn't like to use it, though. lol. Also, did that engineer yell at you around 2:37?
The conductor litters @ 4:51!!!!
I know but there a Conrail Shared Assets line in Detroit.
What was the engineer saying to you as he passed you?
Cool
This is New Jersey
@PRRE8 @boberttrain831 I didn't hear him so I never heard it
EXTRA..Nice
What was the engineer yelling from 2:38-2:45?
What runs on the CSAO branch in Trenton for the Trenton Iron & Steel?
@mikeyRavens52 I mean for CSAO
So, what did the conductor have to say?
At 1:25 the conductor throws a smoke bomb out of his window,is that normal?!!
LOL.. not a smoke bomb, it's a flare to let people know the train is there. Although you'd have to be pretty dumb to drive right into it lol
conrail no longer exists, u can only be for CSX or NS, there is no more conrail corp. they just didnt repaint all of em
