This house is very beautiful, but i am Vietnamese people i want say that, this is not traditional house in VN, may be ít only use traditional Material. But i love it
it was inspired. and the house would look gorgeous as the day it was just built in the next 50 60 years. it incorporated the modern thinking of architect designing the house with his consideration of vietnamese climates adding heritage elements in it.
I love this house. Except of the most basic of essentials, it is literally empty yet the space was executed with beautiful features so that the eye has things to dwell on when you're in it. One thing I would change though is to use wood instead of painted concrete for the front fence.
SouthVietnam is a very wet region...and hard, dense wood is extremely expensive in VN. Labor and concrete are fairly inexpensive, thus it's practically utilized for outside structure.

i say it'll be hot in the summer. no insulation or ceiling under the roof, i get it the designer want to expose the beauty of neatly arranged tile roof. even if theres many big opening and folded/pivoted see-thru doors that can help with airflow, but still. if you can see, almost all room have a big ceiling fan. that means its hot.
I doubt it. Those are some high ceilings in addition to the tilted roof that will create a vent effect drawing hot air up and out. While the doors and external walls are perforated, so cooler air will have no issues being drawn inside the house. Looks good for a tropical climate. Ps. fans are for additional comfort, not a necessity.
such an inspire simple life project. I am from the Gentry, a team working to share educational video(for Cambodian people) on architecture. I wonder if I can feature some part of this clip in my channel. I will give a big credit to Dezeen and architecture team. I believe this video will give a big inspiration from other tropical climate country. Much thanks ! I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
it would be better if there's some explanation abt the house...........like why do you say the house takes cues from traditional vietnamese homes...........
These style of houses takes the essence of traditional houses and injected in a contemporary design. like the free flow of air inside the house. The design and the space planning was actually really good
it is beautiful the roof, but any architecture loses the charm when not the people, is paved is impassable, too much inclination, even the person who passes in front uses the street of cars
It does feel like a suburb where dwellings close themselves off...looking in, rather than reaching out. In a way, this could be a metaphor for how much of the populace views the world...'this is my bit. As long as my bit is pretty, I can ignore the ugly bit'.
Michael Powell this quite common countries without proper building regulations.Surrounding building don’t seem to have pedestrian pavements too. An example watch the woman walking the dog she’s walking in the middle of the street.
tellabati sandeep if you watch the video again look closely the steepness of the pedestrians walk ways in front of the house. It’s impractical for pedestrians to use it.
No sidewalk is a pretty common thing in asia at least in most part of my country..since walking are not a common practice. I mean we ride motorcycle even it is just a 5-10 mins walk to buy a soda.
The purpose is not to provide a powerful blow of wind to cool the users. It's there to circulate the stale air upwards and bring it to the upper windows a.k.a "Stack Ventilation"
Like the volume of space and refined simplicity of design

Simple but beautiful...
The song’s Dance PM from Music For Nine Post Cards by Hiroshi Yoshimura if anyone’s wondering
Love the video. So descriptive and evocative. Beautiful. The timing is excellent too. Leaves enough time to absorb the beautiful design.
it was my dream house
love the design of the house

Zen like ! Minimalist , clutter free house, mind and life !
Ngôi nhà thiết kế rất đẹp, đúng phong cách truyền thống của Việt Nam 🇻🇳
The stairs literally give the impression that the lady just floated up to the next floor

Beautiful indeed
I wonder how the acoustics inside the house works out. I bet there will be a lot of the outside noise entering the home from all that opening.
wow ,,,, superb design 💖💖💖

Bad videography.... Can't understand the house properly
i loved the videography. would've been better to show a girl standing on the balcony from the outside, though.
to show off the roof
Is she short ? Or everything is too big ?
Maryam she is short, by western standards, but she seems to be the average height of an adult female se asian
nice design, love it
We have this in ho chi minh city???? How could it be

It very beauty and wonderful, can you tell me where is it in vietnam!
Suburbs of ho chi minh city
Either the house is huge or that woman is small ...
It was a Vietnamese woman, she was about 1m50cm tall
很棒的设计
beautiful but less practicality. And I'm not sure it secure enough... Seems like easy to rob... too easily visible
Things which are hidden are robbed. This is open kinda house. Nothing to rob.
why does the description say Ho Chi Minh City and the end says Saigon?
Saigon actually is the more common used name because HCM city is too long.
@@thaihangtruong4559 okay thank you I didn't know, I thought it was different cities
@@mariushagelskjr5452 yeah, Saigon is the old name of the city
@@thaihangtruong4559 the one true name of the city, it will always be Sài Gòn.
Woah😍 what a beautiful house!
What is the fence material?
🏵
No bugs?! Seriously?!
pretty, but I don't feel the 'warmth' of traditional houses.

Just one word "mosquitoes"
Yupp
But without it: "Oven". In my country, the whether is hot and humid
Two words. Mosquito net

good for a huge family eh
I'm sure the inclination is the result of wanting to have exposed tiles but I would still feel uncomfortable without proper insulation and sealing
Love this

The house so fancy and yet seem cold/bad design and have no furniture. Not very warm and welcoming.
I stayed cause of Hiroshi Yoshimura
But, no carport.

I didn't get you ! Can you pls explain a little more elaborately

It is a house but not a home.
what an idiotic thing to say, who are you to say what is or isn't a home to somebody else
