How does it even AFFECT the 'gentleman' in the Midwest? I guess you're a threat to him in some manner...I LOVE that you started out your video calling him out!
Before watching Casey’s channel I wouldn’t have thought of watching a video on frame forks. Now I’ve just watched 29 minutes, transfixed. Well done Casey on your attention to detail, explaining what you are doing and all the good, community work you do
I don't work in a field where I'd ever use any of this stuff, but I continue to appreciate all the little details in the Zacklift's design that make it easier and faster to use. It's so nice to see when the designers of a product put that extra little bit of thought into a design, and, undoubtedly, incorporate feedback from real-world users.😻
My father was a journeyman machinist for 27 years making damn good money before his feet died. Good! Let them be mad! They don’t have the work request or the phone call from U-Haul that specifies that it’s a rear tow because damage to the rear. They’re complaining because they lack that vital information

I drove a wrecker for Uhaul , (NE) for 5 yrs, back before that rule was in. I did it every time. All I had was a sling & J=hooks. 26' diesels. Best job I ever had. Stayed w/Uhaul 30 years. Good work!
Casey, another very educational video that provides the viewer with easily understood information and rationales for the same. Now, a new marketing concept from "Armchair Engineering". The concept of "Just in Casey" As in applying an extra "Cable Seal" to the drive shaft and the redundant checks to make sure everything is addressed and made right. Before the towing begins. That and a new T-Shirt for the Merch store with the same phrase "Just in Casey".. Cheers!
I’ve towed several from the rear when wrecked from rear or axle problems too . Funny how they get butt hurt when I pull into their yard then I have to explain why…. I’m lmao with them
I don't always agree with you. With that being said, I have the utmost respect for you and your wife. It's almost impossible to do a start-up towing or trucking business these days. The cost of equipment, insurance, plus starting with limited exposure. Young man with a young family with all the forces against new start-ups. Sounds like the towing company in the midwest may have started with a silver spoon in his mouth. Fuck that pick! You have my respect, as I said at the beginning . Safe travels!
Our yard is next door to a regional Uhaul repair centre & we rent lot space to them to store broken trucks. I've def seen the blown in door syndrome but if you talk to them it's pretty much a non-issue now & the policy is more an insurance requirement on their end. They've updated the design to be more structurally sound & it's less of an issue when they're towed behind highway trucks like yours compared to a little f550 scooting down the highway giving the roll-up door the whole flat blast. Side note - if you ever transport portable toilets there is only 1 orientation you can sit it on the trailer where it won't fill with air & shoot the roof to the moon on the highway. Most guys run a strap over each roof but get the new guy with the delivery trailer they'll pop off like Halloween mortars XD
The toilet story relates because I could see air pressure being a big issue if they just glued the roof panels down. If the door bows in enough for air to fill the box it 100% would lift the panels up where the slipstream could catch it & rip them off. Kinda like how the roof can pop off a house in a hurricane once the windows break. Thats just ex-septic truck driver/mech & current trash truck mech speculation though. I know those Uhaul bodies aren't built like any other box truck

Casey just an idea from a UK watcher, but when your towing in reverse how about putting a beacon in the front wind screen/wind shield (of broken down vehicle) to warn people following, i know you like safety so much, i admire the way you work things out on your recovery's!
If they were stead-fast on tow from front only, one could always remove the axles and away you go, bung the tubes of course, also noticed paint on wrecker/accessories starting to get worn, suggest spray cans in Zac-Lift colours to keep unit looking as good as new, have a good day, stay safe.
We can't rear tow our paratransit vans because of the excessive rear extensions they have. In this situation we would have had to pull the axle inserts and cap the hubs, letting the hubs freewheel. But we have greased rear wheel bearings. I don't know if that would work with oil bath bearings.
the office desk guy that decided to put it one the front bumper probably thought it would be the best place for people who rent the trucks to see it when they open the hood to do the pre-trip inspection to check the engine oil, coolant and headlights before every trip they make so they can then tell the tow truck driver how to do his job when they break down on the side of the road. 🤣
When they say it's our rule that you don't tow from the rear when it has a rear diff issue that is when you say it is on their insurance when something happens like wheels taking out a car or it catching fire and if it burns up your truck it's on them to replace it also
Like all towing situations these guys have to adapt to the situation which is presented to them ,not all tows are perfect and the main point must be the job is tackled and common sense is used . Casey thinks ! The only solution must be a giant Tee shirt that is fitted to the box body to stop the wind getting past the Door ? Another suggestion would be for U-Haul to fit simple port hole caps that can be removed for towing ,fitted to the front of the box ? relieving the air pressure inside the box . But all this must be thought out ,as how many times have these trucks been towed from the Rear ,and how many have been destroyed ? How many has Casey damaged them ? Even the Semi Trucks that have been towed from the Rear,Casey has take steps to midagate the damage to the truck Aero panels .
What I remember the people at Uhaul on 82nd in Portland told me is they are OK with rear towing if the rear axle is compromised. One of shop managers also at 82nd also told me that rule was put in in the early 90s when a lot of towing companies still had a Holmes wrecker with sling belt and they setup the sling wrong and would break the fiberglass….
I love your attitude when someone messes with you. You have figured out what works and what doesn’t. Armchair quarterbacks try to plow ground that you have already gone over. Hi Cassey I've been following you for a while and have watched a lot of your older videos, one of them where you talk about how RUclips pays you for your content. One of the things you mention is the advertising blocks where you say that the more people see the individual advertisements, the more income you get. Before watching that video, I always pressed the cut button whenever possible !! I don't do that anymore. Unfortunately, I currently do not have opportunity to be a patreon member, but have the time to see the whole advertisement block, because then I do my part to contribute. The reason I'm writing this post, Cassey, I think it would be a really good idea to talk about this a little more often in your videos, that if you don't have the opportunity to be a patreon member, then you can see the whole advertising block, then this gives you more to help others. Keep up the good work, the link between Us and the world around you.❤ The warmest thoughts❤ from Jesper Denmark

I get the impression, from previous videos that you get along pretty well with the Springfield U-Haul service center, hard to believe that u-haul would want to come after you.
A guy could design and build a fiberglass shroud / flare that ratcht straps on to trucks and trailers to not cause the damages and concerns of alot box truck / shipping companies

Keep up the good work, the link between Us and the world around you.❤

I saw one on I-90 bieng towed from the rear earlier this summer. Maybe it had a bad rear end too 🤷🤷. As far as the guy that tries to get you "fired" , gotta love busybodies!! 😂😂😂
yes was gonna say block it then use the risers but ya already were thinkin it ;)
25:54 the main thing is even in the business people that are supposed to be highly trained tow truck drivers can't comprehend the fact that almost all vehicles were not engineered to be moving at high rates of speed backwards,
Keep upsetting those that aren't doing what you do
Lot's of clearance, Clarence 😊
Sometimes you just got to say "FORK IT!"
Does light bar come from factory using a M18 battery or did you wire em up to use M18?
I get the impression, from previous videos that you get along pretty well with the Springfield U-Haul service center, hard to believe that u-haul would want to come after you.
Cool at least you are getting the job done.
A guy could design and build a fiberglass shroud / flare that ratcht straps on to trucks and trailers to not cause the damages and concerns of alot box truck / shipping companies
Corperate bean counter stupidity... Casey please keep doing what you are doing and the haters can just hate....
Casey just a quick reminder to change your winch remote batteries.
Hi, Think they meant that for the customer. Meaning for customers not to tow other things.
Never seen that sticker before. I towed one of those from a Police call it was recovered stolen loaded with stuff nosed downhill into a parking spot wheels cranked Officer when I hooked it up slingloft off the back was like you can't tow it back to your yard like that I told him not planning on it but need to get it out of parking space and on flat ground to get to the front end got him to block a lane as I needed two lanes to get up the hill had a Ford like your red oneton
Must be cautious in what you're forking 🤣
