I'm from NZ. Ive made this dish for last 40 years, but I put potatoes on the bottom, cover with grated cheese and drizzle enough melted butter and olive to lightly cover and cook at 180c until by bubbling, browned and crispy. A great way to feed family of six if you've only got 3 potatoes!
@apaul13150 neither, there's meat and heaps of veges of all colours as well. And when the children were at school there was always a home-made pudding like Upside down cake, steamed pudding, chocolate self saying pud in winter and lighter things in summer.
I'm going to have to christen that mandolin I've got now 😊. This recipe looks amazing. I did slice my thumb. Lesson learnt 😅. Made this for tea. Gave some to daughter and her hubby some. It tasted great and looked great. I will definatly be making this again. Thankyou for sharing. Everyone enjoyed it. 😊

Instead of rolling the whole thing into a roulade, you leave it like it is once you take it out of the oven, the way you handle lasagna. Then you cut it up in squares and - voila.

Don't cut yourself. Those things are dangerous. Shouldn't use your bare hands...
My hands got wet. Didn't think to dry n my thumb slipped. I've used it a fee times since and managed not to slice myself.
@@sue5488 you MUST use the guard. My daughter didn't and lost a junk of her finger. I ALWAYS use the guard as I get close to the end.
