    Holy cow, I forgot that I am as old as the character in this story. As soon as she mentioned covering school books with paper bags, milk and soda bottles, one television for the family,at least in the mid 60's me and my siblings had our own radios. The transister radio was like the equivelent of a tablet today. Geez, i am the old lady. lol

    • @sonyafox3271
      @sonyafox3271 2 месяца назад +4

      No, I don’t think so, as in a I-Pad cost a heck of lot more than a transistor radio! If a transistor radio cost the same amount as a I-Pad not everyone in the house would have ever had their own transistor radio! The cheapest transistor radio would cost under $10 while the highest quality one would cost close to $20! Which my last one, I got on my birthday and, it was close to $20! A basic I- Pad of decent quality cost over a $100 the better quality of brand the higher the cost! I surely could not see families in the 70s giving that price for a little transistor radio, even if it was a bigger one for a family room or kitchen. 9:47

    I was born in London, UK in 1944 in
    WWII bombed but we survived, my
    Mother being Jewish and my Father
    left the continenal Europe because
    in 1939, war and Nazism was looming.
    We came to NYCity on the Queen Mary
    in 1949, and I started school in 1950.
    I was a Polio Pioneer in the early 1950's.

    It is amazing to see how quickly a divide has been established by the youth of today. I'm in my mid 70's now, but I remember that, when I was young, we were taught to respect not only our elders, but anyone who needed help. Even today, though I require a cane to help me walk, I still hold doors open for others and I make sure I smile while doing so, meaning that I enjoy doing something small to show respect for them, regardless of their age. There are fewer "thank you's" these days, unfortunately. But it doesn't stop me!

    What a wonderful story. It made me remember how it was back in the day. So many things I had forgotten that we did. I remember taking coke, milk and some juice bottles back. Twenty dollars got you a whole week of groceries. We made it without central air conditioning in our houses and cars. I miss how our town would decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving. You could ride down the middle of town and see Christmas lights all around. The lights on the tree didn’t go out because one light didn’t work. You would have to check every light to see which one needed replace. But then again I think about what the generation did without before me. It’s good to remember and appreciate what we have and show respect for every one. In my 71 years I have seen so many changes. Some good and some bad. I wished my grandkids could have known what it was like to say grace before lunch at our school. Back then we remember our God and thank him for his blessings. We need to get back to those ways again. God Bless America. 🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼✨🙏🏼

    Does the Bible say anything about our responsibility for the environment?? NO. Because God controls that.

      God doesn't control that. He gave us a choice to do it like everything else we do.

      @maryanngreatbatch931 So, did God give us power to control the sun and the moon and the stars too?? 🤣😂

      Nice way to abdicate responsibility. Does G control your behavior? Your personal choices? Your $ex life? Your in/fertility? Your job, your boss, your commute? Does G hand you a gun and tell you what or what not to shoot? What about shooting people? Children? Cops? Now change that G’s name to Zeus - what then?

      You can’t even spell your insult right 🤦🏻‍♀️ over 10% of the worlds population are seniors. We built the communities, invented the majority of the products you use. You’re insulting your friends & coworkers aren’t & grandparents, and you’re disrespecting your own ancestors. What an asset you must be to society.
