Last month I got a massage gun like my chiropractor has and yesterday I spent 2 hours massaging the hip I dislocated 6 years ago, my jaw, and my poor feet that are clenched every morning from plantar faciatis. I cried. I relived traumas I'd forgotten. I wish I'd gotten a massage gun YEARS ago! I've been stretching and soaking in hot water but the massage gun has actually released the tension in the facia. 12 out of 10 recommend a massage gun for anyone with a body!
If you are able to and can ( Don't have surgery) I wanted my bunions done and I was told my ankles were turning inward so I had both procedures done. They slice your whole heel off and screw 7 nail and a plate in your foot. Two years later and I'm still hurting. Steroid shot in my ankle once every 2-3 months and then I repeat each time the pain comes back.. better shoes and physical therapy. That's what I recommend.

@@andreaorsmond6124 That's the brutal challenge of engaging with a trusted therapist. I had to do it myself to start with because like you, I couldn't even tolerate touch. Also, something that helped a lot was actually starting with my calves before getting to my feet. As always, deep tissue.

I've got/had plantar fasciitis. Nothing was working. Chiro suggested dry needling. Couple of sessions and the major pain is gone. No sore feet in morn. No sore feet after an 8hr shift standing all day. Might be a rare occasional brief ache but 98%better. Highly recommend it.
Enjoyed watching this and know how painful fascial release work in the foot can be! Seemed to be one glaring omission though. What causes these kind of feet issues? Conventional footwear, i.e thick padded soles, narrow toe boxes and heels. Doing all this work and then continuing to wear bad shoes is a waste of time. Get some barefoot shoes and experience the freedom and athleticism of allowing your feet to function as they were designed! I made the shift 3 years ago and could never go back. Truly game changing.
I know that everyone has mentioned that this doesn't work long term and you know it too but I just wanted to add that I did flat foot surgery 4 months ago. It takes long to heal 100% maybe even to a year but it is absolutely worth it and it works! 100% recommended
The fact he turned into Smeagol 😭😭 that was great! But high key I wish I could do this. I just have issues with my right foot and a very slight (VERY slight) bunion and I'd love to get this done as well as build the muscles up to help support positive maintenance
My grandmother has a similar problem in her hands and I straighten her hands out every time I see her. It hurts but they've gotten so much better she can use them now. I'm not a professional but I've studied this stuff and I don't know if I could do it professionally, it's draining
My knee surgeon advised me to strengthen my feet as well as the rest of my body. When my feet are strong I can squat, when my feet are weak the rest of my body is unpredictable, very unpredictable.
Your self control NOT to hit him is admirable. I had slept on my neck once badly leaving me unable to move my neck for a week. A friend went to massage it and I'm telling.. I didn't meant to.. by I hit him and jumbled to the other end of the room in 0.2 seconds. The self defence kicked in so fast I didn't even realise it. 🤣
I have been wearing barefoot shoes for almost every day for 4 months (I’m 30 with high arches, tailors bunion, and have always had a lot of foot pain working on my feet for 10 years) and I’m already feeling and SEEING such a difference in my feet! My toes are visibly widening out again. I have no foot pain anymore, even after a 10 hours shift on my feet, unless after occasionally wearing normal shoes, and I can feel my feet getting stronger, back and hip pain have reduced. They’re not lying guys, your foot health is everything! Can’t wait to see what a year in of daily barefoot shoe use brings me!
I am a big guy 6’4 360lbs, I have big feet U.S size 16 4e, but as a teen I couldn’t just find/get shoes that fit. The biggest I could ever find were 14s. So I never actually had shoes that fit. I blew out every pair I did have which wasn’t many because of family financial issues. I played sports, hiked, worked out in way to small shoes. I’m 33 and only just at 28 genuinely had a pair of 16s, but I think I might still need wider than 4e. My toes are crunched together and curled sideways (to fit in small shoe) and about 10 years ago while hiking something happened (no idea what) and I have pain randomly in the same spot of my right foot that hurts to relax.
take a look at the brand altra. They have some of their styles in 16 and have actual toe shaped toe boxes. They are not cheap but as far as size 16 shoes and having a good toe box they may be your best bet before custom comes into play. Once you go a toe shaped toe box instead of our pointy toe boxes big name brands love its harad to ever go back
As a dominatrix I can tell you the feet are the most vulnerable painful area on the body. Especially when you can’t escape. Pure undeniable torture. So lovely!
In 2008 I had bunion surgery on both feet, they had to break the bone reconstruct it then put pins then 2 weeks later had the pins removed nd it took 3mnts to recover, BC MY FEET WERE REALLY BAD, i had it since i was very very young, they said it can come back in 10yrs, they look pretty much the same (they separate the big toe from the rest with bandage so it can stay in place) SALUTE TO U FOR DOING THIS NATURAL!! But I believe they have a brace for the foot that separates the big toe from the rest that u have to wear everyday nd it's supposed to help... Again SALUTE TO THIS MAN but I would stick with surgery, I ain't got nothing to prove, though I've had 4 children, IM NOT GOOD WITH EXCRUCIATING PAIN!
I'm an office worker and god, I wish there was a place I could get this done locally. I'm pretty sure on some level bunions are hereditary (possibly something about a learned walking pattern? my feet look the same as my grandmother's, down to the matching callus patterns, the angel of our big toes, and the fact that our right bunion protrudes more- to the same amount) I've had mine since I was a child. I remember them impacting shoe decisions as young as 10, but they didn't start giving me issues until just a few years ago.
I have plantar fasciitis, flat feet and bunions. I even had a bunionectomy performed on one foot which only removed the "knuckle" of the big toe. Both big toes still totally cross over the first toe. This is beneficial for foot health but there is no way to "fix" bunions. As you mentioned, they are orthopedic issues, calcifications as well as the toe growing in an abnormal direction over a period of time. It cannot be helped or reversed simply by myofascial release. I still believe this is extremely healthy and helpful and will increase foot flexibility, but no, it will not reverse a bunion, especially if it's congenital.
You're lucky for being able to cope with that kind of pain! congrats on the hard work of getting flat feet fixed. I've had flat feet since I was a kid and I believe therapy most be terrible, because if I walk with my toes, as if I wear high heels, I suffer A LOT for that awful horrible pain. It takes a while until it passes, but it's a 10/10 pain. I suffer from chronic pain, allodynia, hyperalgesia and other forms of constant refractory pain myself since decades ago, and this specific therapy scares me so much... Well done!
How often can you have this trigger point therapy done? I wish you would show a video how to release calves and other muscles in the lower leg as they affect your feet and ankles. I am in too much pain and can't seem to find a trigger point therapist in my area. I would appreciate it very much.

So glad I came accross this video in my search for what might be wrong with my left foot. I've been seeing a chiropodist for what were diagnosed as papillomas but a day after they remove all the hard skin I'm still in pain, even without pressure on the affected area. I'm now leaning towards the idea that it could be a bunionette (bunion on pinkie toe) and will ask them to explore this during my next appointment. I'm a runner and wish I'd looked afer my feet better but becasue of pure bone-idleness I am now paying the price.
my brother needed the flat feet thing, they fixed most of it with massage, and Physical therapy, he used to work as a fedex moving boxes but now works as airport security, so he's finally able to walk a lot withoutpain!
This is only half of the therapy. Proper training changes the movement patters and alignment issues. And you don't need to go heavy with the external weights. Proper form increases the intensity and results. Also, I wear spacers either during the hours that I'm working, in which I'm on my feet for hours training clients or the spacers are worn when I train. As uncomfortable as it is, there's always a HUGE difference in the way my body is forced to function. I move in more relaxed, but powerful and more efficient patterns. This is also a great point of focus when training clients. Fantastic vid!🎯 However...🤔 Why did he have to take off his shirt? What was the purpose?
I had plantar fasciitis and it was so bad that it nearly burst from all of my work so had physio and now I’m perfectly fine I just make sure I stretch it out some numbing cream on it massage it and do some exercises ect
The patient is ripped and sh*t... but a couple of presses in the right places at his feet, and he seems very mortal. Medicine and holistic care is truly amazing.
You may be watching and laughing... but for years I had ingrown toenails... The Feet are no joke when it comes to pain receptors. You can push as hard as you want right now and think 'oh, I could take it' or rip a nail and think it cant be much worse. No... it is. When there is injury and inflammation in the foot just gently touching to move the area is blinding pain... imagine that same sensitivity except you're folding a nail back that grew into your toe... or someone is giving your foot an Atomic Noogie. I definitely felt this dude's pain.

I wish I was the patient in this video! This video was absolutely great!!! Lots of explanation, lots of laughter and pain. Loved it! Thanks so much for sharing. ❤
"Relationship goals." LMAO 😂😂😂 Edit: I wonder if maybe some less constricting shoes in the toe area or those toe separators for painting nails would help with that.
It is true that it really is you getting abused for our pleasure. I'm glad it's helping you, but it's doing more for me than just informing. It's quite fascinating to see a big man show up to voluntarily submit themselves to pain.
12:50 a lot of cracking is infact not good. The cracking you hear is scar tissue from plantar fasciitis. And its super painful. it's like an abnormal burning pain. To get relief you can massage it but it will come back if you don't do the proper exercise or wear the right shoes.i used a cork ball and roll that under my foot and it worked womders. For the bunion however its a bone deformation. So no amount of adjusting will fix that unless your bone is made out of rubber you would need surgery to remove the bunion.
Just as the last treatment 2 years ago didn't work neither will this..... It has been long proven that you can not distort fascia via manual pressure. It actually takes approx 2040lb of force to distort fascia by 1%! If manual pressure of that force could be applied do you not think it would distort the skin first!!!?
It's not about distorting anything. It's about relaxing and stretching out contractions. The rest is going into it's place naturally afterwards. If you don't understand deep tissue treatment, don't try to be smart about it. 2 years ago it worked...that's why he is back only now. The body tends to recontract if you are doing hard workouts and professional sport. The result of the therapy does not last forever. Every serious sportsman and therapist knows that. I am a professional deep tissue sport therapist also....btw.
I've worked with a spinal client for a long time now and these foot massages are game changers. You can really appreciate the effect in someone who doesn't have the muscle activation to overcome chronic foot tightness. One massage can spread the toes for weeks, making it way easier to practice standing, sitting and walking.

Back pain? -> Deep tissue massage or chirurpractic Shoulder pain? -> Deep tissue massage or chirurpractic Feet pain? -> Deep tissue massage If you squeeze your eyes hard and focus maybe u can see a pattern here and guess why its not getting better. @@oneness70 I do understand deep tissue treatment, that's why I know that the narrative being used by this therapist is inaccurate... He is talking about distorting things! 'Stretch the fascia' 'break down adhesions and scar tissue' etc... all things that are impossible to do with human touch. However, we may be able to change the perception of 'tighness' or contracture by calming the nervous system and by creating conceptual explanations. This therapist is definitely not changing the morphology of these feet in one session! Simply impossible without surgery! And to say his last treatment lasted 2 years that's bullshit.
About time man been waiting for these think the last one I watch was almost a year ago love the pain but hope it makes a difference for your health man
For those that don't know, you can fix flat fleet and bunions by wearing barefoot/minimalist footwear. The shoes we typically wear these days forced our toes into a point, which is completely unnatural for our feet, and the arch support actually hinders our foot's own ability to support itself resulting in flat feet. If you transition, you should be careful and research.
I agree, shoes are everything. Wearing Chaco sandals and Altra hiking shoes (zero level rise) has stopped my plantar fasciitis symptoms. Were I to wear a shoe with a heel, the symptoms would come right back.
Not if you have plantar fasciitis!! NEVER GO BAREFOOT! The bone spur under your heel can slice thru your muscle. ( not literally out the other side but it will cause pain & more damage)
@@Bambisgf77 If you have plantar fasciitis, going barefoot is what fixes that problem. You just have to be careful and slow while transitioning. The crap shoes people usually wear these days is what is causing plantar fasciitis.
Backing this up - I used to go to work wearing "doll" shoes because it was part of the prescribed uniform (it was that or heels but I chose the former). I would experience tremendous pain in my foot everday and my bunion would always be throbbing. When the pandemic happened and I shifted to online work, I got rid of my former "work" shoes and bought sandals/open footwear. It was immensely comfortable and I no longer feel pain in my feet/bunions. I still have bunions but they no longer swell/make me uncomfortable. Changing your footwear can really do wonders.
Dude, your feet actually look really good for the work you have put them through. I am working on same rehab and crazily, Pilates on a reformer has really helped build some health in my feet-I believe it is feet in straps physically pressing the arches of my feet and then the foot work outs on the bar, using body weight to build my feet ‘back’ B U T my feet are a mess after years of terrible foot management and injuries. So, coming here to learn how to deep tissue my feet and share some pain. {Believe me, if I could see the professional to do this for me, I would} Excellent channel. Thank You!
Why’s he not wearing foot-shaped shoes if he’s struggling this bad with toe spacing? A pair of Xero shoes or Vivobarefoots has to be cheaper than this doctor visit
I’ve been doing the treadmill almost every day for a month in an attempt to finally lose the 20lbs I gained over the pandemic once and for all (down 6 pounds so far). My feet are in tremendous pain lately, I’m wondering if I need a massage like this (it doesn’t seem very pleasant going by this video).
I rebuilt my flat feet using Dr Jolie Bookspan's protocols, using my muscles to pull up my arches.. they stay up but I do notice if I get very exhausted they might lower.. takes time, persistence, body awareness.. now working on my tibilus and muscle between heel and big toe and knee rehab. I have used many of the home suggestions and see my feet changing over the years.. shows with wide toe boxes are essential. good luck everyone.
Toe spacers along with wide shoes with arch support actually helped my feet get back to normal. It feels weird at first but I started seeing results after the 15th day.
@@hoddy1368 you can forget the need for arch support if you are trying to build an arch its kinda counter intuitive. anything in a human body supported long term will weaken its just how it works. But a cheap toe spacers to wear when not in shoes. and even say a brand like altra who has a foot shaped toe box will help stop the progression of your bunions.
I did that by my own over weeks. All three days giving pressure, the others just massaging. I can handle pain better if I am the reason so I just can imagine how horrofying that has to be if you have no clue whats happening next :D
@@ambersykora352 what are you qualified in? What is your profession? Where the toe is pushed medially this puts stress on the toe joint ( metatarsophalangeal joint). The body starts building bone to support the stress, bone cannot be broken down with soft tissue work, because bone is not soft tissue!
@@ambersykora352 flat feet is mainly because of weak plantar arch muscles (if not congenital) these need to be strengthened. It can also be from a dropped/weak navicula joint, this may need different treatment. Therefore, flat feet will not be fixed by soft tissue work. Maybe a high arch could be fixed by soft tissue if it's due to muscle /ligament tightness.
I wish I knew about this last year because I had surgery for PTTD stage 4 from a flat foot (1 out of 10 people can get it at an early age since it mostly happen to seniors from so many years of standing). The healing process of surgery was the worst that my vocal cords were sore for a week from screaming when I could of gotten this and wouldn't have to deal with the surgery
Never allow a surgeon to convince you to do an ankle osteotomy to create an arch when you haven't had one in years. It doesn't work the way they claim and, if you've already had other fusions, you will chronically break the fusions and be in constant pain the rest of your life.
There are SO many ways to warm areas up before digging in and fighting against a muscle group that can avoid so much unnecessary pain.. there will be some discomfort regardless in deep tissue work, but you can definitely dampen the amount of suffering during a patient's visit.. Otherwise, a cool video.
yes. as long as your flat feet are not caused by some tendon disease or other skeleteal problem. alot of people have what is called "fallen arches" If thats you, then you can get your arch back. Its not instant and the older and more support you have had to use the harder it may be. But it sure beats surgery. we have tons of tendons, ligaments and muscles that modern foot ware causes to atrophy. If you have built up to alot of support the transistion period may be slower then others. I'd reccomend looking at a brand called altra if you want a good toe box but still have cushion. But just know its not some magical fix it will take time and if you rush into strengthing your foot injury is quite easy. but its a sad time that instead of first suggesting rehab a doctor would just go "Oh, Surgery"
This poor man is gangster! I know the pain he must endure every single day, I pray if he stayed the course he’s better now. I’m looking at surgery in the next few weeks and determined to correct it through rebounding.

In 2008 I had bunion surgery on both feet, they had to break the bone reconstruct it then put pins then 2 weeks later had the pins removed nd it took 3mnts to recover, BC MY FEET WERE REALLY BAD, i had it since i was very very young, they said it can come back in 10yrs, they look pretty much the same (they separate the big toe from the rest with bandage so it can stay in place)
SALUTE TO U FOR DOING THIS NATURAL!!
You know too much, massage therapist scammers hate you.
Well done!
it's worth it
This is oddly satisfying to watch...

Fantastic vid!🎯
However...🤔 Why did he have to take off his shirt? What was the purpose?
I had plantar fasciitis and it was so bad that it nearly burst from all of my work so had physio and now I’m perfectly fine I just make sure I stretch it out some numbing cream on it massage it and do some exercises ect
The patient is ripped and sh*t... but a couple of presses in the right places at his feet, and he seems very mortal. Medicine and holistic care is truly amazing.

How did it go?
You may be watching and laughing... but for years I had ingrown toenails... The Feet are no joke when it comes to pain receptors.
You can push as hard as you want right now and think 'oh, I could take it' or rip a nail and think it cant be much worse. No... it is. When there is injury and inflammation in the foot just gently touching to move the area is blinding pain... imagine that same sensitivity except you're folding a nail back that grew into your toe... or someone is giving your foot an Atomic Noogie.
I definitely felt this dude's pain.
Each time you were in pain i thought you were going to punch him out of reflex just from how your body was reacting. Hope things are getting better

Mmmmm....not so sure

What type please I try searching but it’s just wide fit only
@@hoddy1368 you can forget the need for arch support if you are trying to build an arch its kinda counter intuitive. anything in a human body supported long term will weaken its just how it works. Real bunions are a bone deformity, therefore cannot be fixed with soft tissue work.
Bullshit. It's calcium deposits that should not be there. Therefore your body can dissolve and flush the inorganic calcium deposits.

It doesn't work the way they claim and, if you've already had other fusions, you will chronically break the fusions and be in constant pain the rest of your life.
this has been the most informative and entertaining lesson on taking care of my feet.. EVER.
That Gollum impression though, that was bloody great
I don´t know why but physical therapy + martial arts sounds like a scary ass combo
I couldn't do it. I prefer deep tissue massages but that's too painful
There are SO many ways to warm areas up before digging in and fighting against a muscle group that can avoid so much unnecessary pain.. there will be some discomfort regardless in deep tissue work, but you can definitely dampen the amount of suffering during a patient's visit..
Otherwise, a cool video.

Wait....this is a real thing?! The first thing my podiatrist said was "oh, surgery". I can work on my flat feet like this instead?!??
yes. as long as your flat feet are not caused by some tendon disease or other skeleteal problem. alot of people have what is called "fallen arches" If thats you, then you can get your arch back.
I've had stuff like that for rehab..I swear that was more pain than I could have ever imagined before /D
