After Downgrading using recovery mode, will the data on my mac remain safe? In case I don’t have any backup

Guys, I had a problem with the final stage of the procedure. I performed all the various steps (M1):
    1. I downloaded the Ventura installer.
    2. I configured it via terminal in the USB stick.
    3. I backed up the disk data.
    4. I shut down the Mac and booted it into recovery mode.
So far so good, except that when I got to choosing the startup disk, it didn't let me use the disk I created with the Ventura installer. It says: ''It is not possible to downgrade the volume''
    HELP ME :(

Make sure you rename your USB "Ventura_installer" (Don't forget the underscore!)

@ 5:17 "...and choose the USB stick," I'm not seeing that in the video. I do not have the option to boot using the USB stick via SystemSettings/General/StartupDisk.

@@user-xn3lg9kg6n I did this a while ago, can't remember specifically, but it has to do with a permission. Somewhere you have to allow you machine to see that usb stick. Maybe in securities/privacy preferences?

The solution is completely outside the workflow outlined in this video.
