In contrast, the Modi government has steered India in a direction riddled with controversies, economic challenges, and social unrest. Policies like demonetization and the flawed implementation of GST disrupted India’s informal economy, leaving millions unemployed. The current government’s focus on divisive politics and superficial schemes has overshadowed the core needs of the nation-healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
Dr. Manmohan Singh believed in uniting the country through progressive policies. Whether it was the implementation of the MNREGA program, Right to Education, or the National Food Security Act, his policies were aimed at uplifting the marginalized. Modi’s tenure, however, has been marked by widening inequality, corporate favoritism, and suppression of dissent.
As we mourn the loss of Dr. Manmohan Singh, it’s time to question the path India has taken in recent years. Can we genuinely claim progress when farmers are protesting, unemployment is soaring, and communal harmony is deteriorating?
