Why did you and The Beauty Of decided to cover the same movie at the same time?
I don't want to insult and compare with other films because a lot of people work hard on them, but I would be a little embarrassed if a film with less than half the budget looked infinitely better than almost everything this year
I think one of the major issues with the big budget films is theres alot of studio interference which results in late reshoots and then overworking/rushing VFX workers.
Another huge detriment is the lack of shooting on location and just using the volume or green/blue screens to save costs.

Some other indie movies still look better than this.
The bigger the franchise, the bigger the demand
So when they can they hire the cheapest people they can find to work as fast and as cheap as they can

This film and “Godzilla Minus One” both prove that you don’t need over 100 million dollars to make your movie visually incredible.
Apparently the film’s budget would be much cheaper if it wasn’t for covid protocols and restrictions. They might have even made to $65-70M.
This movie has a budget of $80 millón dollars and it looks better than most of the movies released this year. Also, we need more movies like this who offers originality and passion for the cinema.
I'm very greatful that people like Gareth Edwards exists on Hollywood.

He might become the auteur Hollywood needs right now
And Joseph Kosinski (director of Tron Legacy, Oblivion, Top Gun Maverick)
But first, he needs to either hire other writers or at least hone his skill for it. His big budget movies have amazing directions, yet underwhelming screenplay.
He’s now working in a Jurassic park movie, the suspense and the horror is back BABY!!
I expect nothing less from Greg fraiser what he did here and in Dune part 2 he’s brilliant man
This movie was the most underrated of this year, I hope that in the future it becomes a cult classic along with Babylon.
For sure it’ll a grow an audience. It’s in the same niche as Tron Legacy and Oblivion.
Gareth Edwards is a great visionary, since Godzilla and Rogue one, in The Creator although the script was his Achilles heel, the production, costumes, sound, soundtrack, and cinematography take it to the tenth degree.
It's incredible that a movie like this with a little budget can do great things and The Creator proves it more than ever.

I got my glasses the day before I went to see The Creator. This was the first movie in years that I have experienced with perfect vision, and my god, was it beautiful.
FUN FACT: The camera used to film this movie. (The camera alone, not the cgi, sets, or other visual effects.) Cost only $4000. The Sony FX3.
the entire movie is full of beautiful shots and amazing how minimal resources this movie used and manage to look better than most 200 million dollar movies of 2023!!
This needs more supports of this film how great this is
I really hope the rumor that half the film was cut is true, because so much about it was fantastic. A longer cut with more character moments, more time to explore themes, and so on, would have benefitted this movie so much.
I'm just gonna say it.
I think that The Creator is the *best directed* film of the year. I honestly mean that.
I saw both Oppenheimer and Barbie, and I love them both, but nothing will compare to the atmosphere Edwards created here.
There's many things I would have liked to be different regarding story, characters and overall screenplay.
But dang that movie just looked so good and everything was just so well crafted!
It's crazy how this video came out literally at the same time as The Beuty Of's video on the same movie! Anyway, excellent job as always

I rarely make any suggestions on this channel but i recently watched "Are You There God, it's me Margaret" and thought the cinematography was pretty good!! Plus i just love the overrall pallete and visual creamie-ness of the entire film if that makes sense. Also caught my attention that this movie JUST came out this very year and it's probably among the few movies this year that wasnt shot on an ARRI Alexa but in fact it was shot on a *Sony Venice* 👀
So yeah maybe an *Amazing Shots* of that film would be great haha, and on that note i'll just mention *The Edge of Seventeen* as it is a film by the same director...Kelly Fremon Craig.

Yes, most films are shot in the standard 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The Creator Shot in 2.76:1

I miss the time Hollywood used to make tons of big-budget movies without trying to build a franchise out of it
No sequel baits or post-credits scenes
This is what they need to do right now to put an end to this era of artistic bankruptcy
Don’t kid yourself. Movie studios are in business to make money. The goal for a studio is to always turn a profit, and if a blockbuster movie does turn a profit they are going to want a sequel. The Creator was not a big hit so there probably won’t be a sequel, but if it was a hit I guarantee Part 2 would be in preproduction right now.

Its such a shame this movie wasnt successful. Its rare enough to get a original movie not based an something else and with fresh concepts. Instead were going to get the 100th mediocre superhero movie no one cares about, because generel audiences have been so dumbed down that creativity is actively punished. This movie may have made history with its production and yet no one will remember it.

Remember what? 😅 Seriously, though, everyone loves to blame comic book movies these days if a movie fails. Could it be that the public just wasn’t interested? A dark movie about war may be a turn off for a lot of people with the current state of the world. The public doesn’t care what camera it was shot on and it’s not enough to be original. They care about being entertained by a good story well told.

I have never seem any movie like this, the visual effects were one of the best work I have ever seen, world building was pretty good, Madeleine’s acting was spot on, but the whole plot was written so poorly and many things didn’t make sense, one side of me really wanting to love this movie but the other side of me is refusing to, this movie could’ve been one of the best sci-fi movie, and I am so sad because I have to say this movie isn’t good.
