My first wish I granted this year. mexican3girl ships Luke/Lorelai, but always liked Lorelai/Chris too and as one of her wishes she wrote she'd like a non-endgame ship vidded. We discussed it and she said she'd appreciate this kind of vid.
With news of the Netflix 4 mini-movie revival of the show, I found myself not only hoping Luke/Lorelai and Rory/Jess are endgame, but also hoping we'll see Christopher again. I just... I love when I see David Sutcliffe in any other TV show. Christopher has such a special place in my heart. I think I always related to Rory and maybe he reminds me a little too much of my dad or something. But idk, maybe it's something else too. He was so hated by certain sects of the fandom, I latched onto him more and just... LOVED him? :P
In fact, I think I've always been more passionate about Lorelai/Christopher and more in love with their story and scenes for what it was than I ever was with Luke/Lorelai. I ship Luke/Lorelai as endgame but something about Christopher, and Lorelai and Christopher have such a history and chemistry and banter... I don't know. I didn't like some (maybe most) of what they did with them in season 7, or what they did in "Wedding Bell Blues" with Chris, but especially in seasons 1-3 there was something so amazingly nuanced about how they were written, and acted, and all of it. But I definitely love Luke/Lorelai, don't get me wrong... I'm just often a multi-shipper and for me it's complicated. For me, shipping Chris/Lorelai didn't necessarily mean I wanted them to end up together, and after season 7, really after Luke/Lorelai got together happily at the end of season 4, it definitely didn't mean that. :P I root for Luke/Lorelai. But I'm thrilled to see scenes for Chris/Lorelai.
I can't believe how few of their scenes I managed to get into this vid despite vidding the entire length of the song. I love so many more of their moments. Supsi85 & I got a lot more into our "Tattoo" Lorelai/Chris collab. :P

Oo I accidentally lied in my end credits. I think Tanner Patrick may have arranged the whole piece, but it seems he only plays piano (keyboard) and sings background vocals (and like 2 lone lyrics) in terms of the performance. Kris Williams is strumming the guitar AND singing in this song. Whoops. I hate when I mess up my end credits... :P ALSO... (edited to add)
I've recently (January 2021) made a new Rory Gilmore, seasons 1-3 tribute: ruclips.net/video/7Byw5U5g4xo/видео.html that I'd love it if more people watched and especially COMMENTED ON and/or Liked for the sake of the algorithm. I basically have maybe 10-15 friends who comment on my videos but get very little feedback these days on most of my vids, and not as much as I'd like even on new fanvideos for my biggest fandoms, like Gilmore Girls, and while I do have 6.55 K subscribers right now, I've had this channel over a decade and a lot of these subscribers are no longer on RUclips, are not checking notifications or checking subscriptions, are not subscribed to me with notifications on, etc. It's just frustrating and disheartening sometimes. I also don't get enough views on so many of my vids that I'm really proud of.
I have a lot of ideas for new Gilmore Girls videos I'd love to make, including a new Rory & Lorelai vid or more than one! I really do love their relationship at the heart of this show and find it really interesting now that I just rewatched the entire series.

I feel like Lauren Graham didn't get along with Scott Patterson. I think that reflects a bit in the acting for Luke/Lorelai in the later seasons. I thought I got that vibe from a couple interviews but I never was as invested in the behind the scenes stuff so idk.

You've saved me from falling apart, as I've just watched the episode when Lor realises that Christopher is not the one. :( It's breaking my heart but I KNOW that they're going to stay these important people for each other... They just HAVE TO. They have so much in common and even though I also like Luke and Lorelai, I need her to love Chris forever, and I know that he will love her forever too, in a way only these two can love each other. ♥ I like Chris a lot, so cheers, mate! I think they are the couple that should've ended up together. I think Amy Sherman Palladino thought so too and split Luke and Lorelai up in the first place. And then she left the show and the writers decided to go with what the audience thought they wanted and shove L&L down out throats again.
L&C are perfect. They speak the same language, they have the same character, the history, they have a daughter together for cryin' out loud! They don't have to work so hard like L&L (who never agree on anything, Lorelai has to tiptoe around him and convince him things will be fun etc. etc.)- I mean come on! the writing's on the goddamn wall!
Anyway- thanks for the vid! I liked the little Parenthood glimpse there BTW... can you make a Hank/Sarah or Mark/Sarah (another couple that reality screwed for us) vid next? :P

Lol that is a first. I've never heard people say that think right before leaving being showrunner that Amy Sherman-Pallidino did what she did at the very end of the season 6 finale *because* she thought Lorelai/Chris should be endgame and Lorelai/Luke should be broken up. I highly, highly doubt that to be the case and could write a long meta essay on why but it is an interesting theory! ;)

Oh my gosh! Emily! This is SO GOOD and SO PERFECT for these two! I agree completely with everything you said in the description...I love these two for what they are and have always enjoyed their journey together, but that doesn't mean I want them as endgame. I totally have my fingers crossed for seeing Chris in the Netflix movies though. And if Jess/Rory aren't endgame, I will never be okay again. :P

I too had forgotten some of the voiceovers -- I really loved a chance to vid so many of them since I don't think I -- or maybe anyone -- had ever vidded some of these voiceovers before. :P The moments were all pretty much still stuck in my memory though, I like, sought them out specifically for lyric matching haha. :P I still know this whole show way too well from all my years vidding it, apparently. I had to figure out what their "very last kiss" was though. That one involved some re-watching of their last season 7 eps... Lol.

Los guionistas arruinaron esta relación al final. Desde el inicio se marcó la pauta de que ellos debían estar juntos. En la temporada 6 se armó la linea de que ellos por fin podría estar juntos y en la 7 no solo cambiaron por completo la línea argumental, sino que mataron su relación por completo. Toda la química y complicidad que se había mostrado durante todas las temporadas, en la última no se vio. Durante todo el show Lorelai nunca se sintió cómoda con ningún chico, como con Christopher, y en la temporada final simplemente marcaron que el personaje repentinamente se sintiera incómodo. A diferencia de Luke, con quien desde el principio la relación se marcó como una amistad, lo cual se refuerza cuando estaban juntos, por que si bien todo parecía que están funcionando, al final
siempre terminaban con Lorelai no siendo ella misma. No solo me decepciona que al final Chris y Lorelai no terminaran juntos, sino que toda la última temporada es como una serie de capítulos que no siguen la secuencia de todo lo construido en las anteriores. No hablo del revival porque ocurre lo mismo, pero con incluyendo a Rory (lo único que esta bien construido ahí es la evolución de Emily). Realmente es una lástima que tan buen show terminara así.

As I said in the end credits yes I used some Sarah/Mark scenes from Parenthood (and a Sarah/Hank one), merged with some David Sutcliffe stuff from Private Practice.

Yes I mean I made the effects clear that those manipped scenes had Lauren Graham moments from Parenthood and David Sutcliffe moments from Private Practice, and credited both shows in my end credits within the video. It was not a very significant part of the video, just capturing a couple final "Wildest dreams" lines. Obviously I'm the one who edited this and I know where all the scenes come from so it feels weird reading this comment, like it's telling me something as if I wouldn't know. But I guess that comment was perhaps for trying to be helpful to other viewers?
I love this so much!!! I don't ship these two and I didn't like Christopher that much. I did like them together in season 2? Before Sheri got pregnant. I can relate to how you feel about these two. I ship April and Dominic so much but I wanted Leo/April to be endgame. I'm glad you vidded the whole song as most people don't do that. This was enjoyable to watch :D
Thanks! Yeah that's when they were at their best, seasons 1 & 2. I still liked their moments a lot in season 3, and probably less and less after that.
Funnily I never really shipped Dominic/April... didn't quite hate them the way a lot of Chasing Life fans did tho either... but yeah i see some parallels.

Yeah when I broke up with my only boyfriend I essentially gave him a version of Lorelai's "I need you to know that you're the man I want to want. You have no idea how badly I wish-" speech from 7x14 "Farewell, My Pet". It's way too relatable. That might be part of why I love Chris/Lor so much too. I think I've always been a sucker for unrequited love, and as a person who finally figured out she was asexual two years ago after trying out a romantic relationship for the first time, and who is now starting to identify as wtfromantic, I think I finally understand maybe why I'm drawn to that kind of angst or imperfection. I may not relate to Lorelai's loving the sex and the friendship but not being in love with Chris, or being more in love with Luke, or whatever, but I do relate to not wanting "as much" as my boyfriend did, or not wanting the same things as my boyfriend, or not wanting as much (like sex, and maybe other things) than most potential romantic partners in my life would, or wanting different things (like adoptive parenthood) -- while still appreciating a lot about them as human beings. While liking them a lot, as close friends or people with the potential to become such to me, as maybe more, I don't know.
Yeah...makes sense. I also always have the problem of "not wanting enough" at least what the commitment is considered. I always feel in the wrong place or sth like this :/ But awesome that you found the right definition for yourself and feel comfortable with it :) Do you get asked a lot of question about this? like "how come you know this?" or "how can you not miss 'it'?" ...?

I could've sworn you commented on my Champagne Problems 🍾 Lorelai and Christopher vid and was answering you about that vid not this one.
About this one... um. Those are not clips from Gilmore Girls. You're absolutely right. In the end credits I credit two other series, Parenthood and Private Practice. The clips of Lauren Graham that you don't recognize are all from Parenthood and anywhere you see David Sutcliffe in a scene you don't recognize it's Private Practice.
The sexy scene from the show Parenthood is I think end of season 2 ish? I don't recall for sure. That's Sarah Braverman living in the guest house of her parent's property and having a sexy moment with Mark Cyr. But I created what is called a manip where I used video effects to combine two different scenes to be on the scene at once and manipulated it to look like she's kissing David Sutcliffe who in his original scene was kissing Addison on Private Practice.
Look up David Sutcliffe on imdb and find where they list the episodes of Private Practice he appeared in and watch that storyline if you're curious. It was pretty good. I think he was a firefighter or something lol.

What editing app do you use?
I used Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 Platinum Edition for this. I've moved onto the new Magix Vegas 13, soon 14, still Movie Studio Platinum, pretty similar. I purchased these programs but like all video editing software they do have 30 day trial options. Plus, for some of the coloring or some transitions, I use some New Blue FX that I downloaded from some other vidders sharing...

As I said to someone else, I think Luke and Lorelai were at their best seasons 2-5. They are special and Lorelai and Chris... Were special too, but Lorelai needed someone not in the money world. I ship Rory/Jess more than anyone and i think Lorelai/Chris have a lot in common with Rory/Jess in some ways. A lot of songs that fit one will fit the other kind of stuff. Idk I always rooted for Lorelai/Luke for endgame and stuff but I also think I always saw more chemistry between Lorelai and Chris than Lorelai and Luke, maybe...
@@VioletEmerald I see your point, i just think Lorelai and Luke are THE couple and their chemistry shows that. I was always rooting for Luke and Lorelai, never for Lor and Chris though. Chris is Rory's dad, he's always going to be a big part of Lorelai's life, but Luke was Rory's father figure growing up and Luke was often the first person Lorelai called if something happened. Like Lorelai says, Chris is the man she wants to want, but Luke is the one for her.
I can I don't see how anyone thinks Chris and Lorelai are endgame when he keeps hurting and running away from his problems. They may have chemity together but that's all. I see nothing romantic or cute about Chris's and Lorelai relationship.

This was beautiful. This is the first Lorelai and Christopher fanvid that I have ever seen and I really enjoyed it. I think that they should have been endgame. I think that they had more of a connection than Luke and Lorelai, they had more fun together and Lorelai could just let her hair down, and just be with him. And be free and childish with him. I wish that they ended up together. I wish that at the end it was Lorelai and Christopher and Rory and Logan.

Also i agree i think about Lorelai/Christopher vs Luke/Lorelai but i mostly multi-ship Lorelai and have different feelings on some of her ships depending on the episode or the season. So, I will definitely be checking them out, as well as the Rory and Christopher ones. I do love Luke and I do love Lorelai I just don’t love them together. I think that they build up to them was better than them being together, I loved watching Luke pining for Lorelai. The chemistry between Luke and Lorelai when they weren’t together. That was fire. I totally see the similarities between Christopher and Jess. I just love Logan, I love that…exactly the reason why I said I love Lorelai and Christopher “they had more fun together and Rory could just let her hair down, and just be with him” Rory didn’t have to worry about being perfect, Rory was flawed, and Logan saw all of that and loved her through all of that. I just think that they are wonderful.

They mau have chemistry but Lorelai never loved Chris like she did with Luke.
In my mind they stayed married, had two more kids - a boy and a girl. They ended up buying a bigger house, but Rory lives in the old one with Logan, and raise their baby daughter there.
In my mind Luke and Lorelai will be marridd and have kids and Chris will move far far away. plus Rory and Logan will not be together.
Chris was the one!! He just loved Lorelai the way she was and actually enjoyed and got her quirky jokes.
Chris wasn't the one he the loved the 16 year old Lorelai not the adult Lorelai.
