I must say this again that Chloe came and ATE! No crumbs left behind at ALL! In the beginning I felt like it was a seance and she was casting a spell over us. Definitely some Beyonce/Sasha Fierce stuff!
Let me know your thoughts on this performance and if I should react to any other VMA performances. P.S. Lil Nas drops his album tonight, should I react to that?

As young women i agree, her doing this isnt doing anything to my mindset but show me that her body is just as beautiful as mine and i can show it off in anyway i want because its my body. I mean all she has out are her legs. At this point every female body part is sexualized so we cant never get a break . But seeing chloe grow in to her own and do what she wants is inspiring to me as a teenager. I hope im as confident in my body as she is in hers when i get older

She said she didn’t realize she licked the mike until she saw the recording a day later 😂 I think you’re right, when she performs she really gets into a character that she’s really allowing to take center stage.
Also, someone asked her why she shows so much skin and she straight up says something like, “because it’s my body and I get to choose how much skin I want to show.” I think people tend to really judge young women for showing off themselves and their sexuality, I personally think people are afraid of young women showing their sexuality

Yeah, I notice the live performance arrangements have different production qualities that elevate the song. The instrumentation creates a bigger more dramatic effect. I notice a lot of live performance arrangements in popular music utilize electric guitar on impact moments. I think other crucial components include strong bass that adds a lot of depth and I think live drums and other percussive instrumentation that adds a real shine or sting to the sound.

Queen producer @koji Kali, I love your reaction to this performance of Chloe. The way you break down the song and draw us into it with your calming voice I love it. When you talked about the control of her voice and breath was on point. Sometimes it is hard to do as an artist to sing and dance at the same time. All that moving and trying to control your breath can be a bit much. I know as an independent artist when I have person and try to dance ooh wee lord 😰😥 well Koji you never seem to amaze me with your reactions. You hear things that I have to go back and listen to it and say “ yes Koji was right” 👏🏾👏🏾 queen keep doing yo thang. I look forward to your reactions every time ❤️❤️❤️

As far as the sexuality of the performance, yeah it's alot. It's very interesting all the white young artists ( Justin Bieber Taylor swift Olivia Rodrigo etc) are fully clothed and sell stream way more than the black artists ( Normani lil Nas x Chloe etc) who wear little to know clothing in performances and videos. I've noticed that alot.

tayor isnt always fully clothed. olivia has kid/ teen fans and is under a disney contract when she starts wanting new fans and grows from disney she'll start wearing less too. billie is and adele would be a better example but even billie shows her body as well at times and adele may do it too since she lost wieght.

Chloe said she didn’t even remember licking the mic. As far as people judging her, they need to be ashamed of themselves. Chloe is a grown azz woman. How is this performance an issue for people. Janet was the same way in the 90’s. She performed w/ the same essence. It’s wasn’t a problem when Brittany, Xtina, Madonna, Fergie or The Pussycat Dolls performed this way. Nobody had shiz to say about them. It’s really f’d up that it’s her OWN people & gender who are that hardest on her. What da hell are they mad about? Is it bcuz she did this on MTV & not BET, in front of a different race of people? If that’s even an iota of their issue, it’s stupid bcuz MTV & BET are owned by the same company. I mean really people, grow the hell up. Ur child shouldn’t be looking to celebs on how to be in life anyway. That’s ur job as a parent. U brought them into the world, NOT CHLOE!

If this was prerecorded then she KILLED the lip sync ! Cuz Normani was so obviously lip syncing...and that’s no shade...but being able to tell if an artist is lip syncing or not affects the audiences ability to stay lost in the fantasy of the performance

    • @valak661

Normani sang live when she hit the ground mic was on and secondly Normani's dance moves are so hard not just twerking and not copied every single moves from particular artist but nice try sleep well

    • @justsayin8895
      @justsayin8895 3 года назад

Um, actually Normani was not lip syncing. She was completely live. Her mic was hot (on) the whole time. Go back and listen, you can hear every time she takes a breath. You can hear the difference in her volume when she sits down mid-performance. Just before the dance break, she messed up the verse which I doubt would have been prerecorded. Also when she did that double drop move, you can hear the mic scrape the floor. She simplified the choreography, took a deep breath then hit the whistle range and held her note. Then again when she drops the mic at the end, you hear it clang. Baby girl was really singing.

    • @kaimosley6296

@@justsayin8895 when she does the whistle note that was clearly lip syncing. She literally bent over to hi the note. She was trying not to show that she was lip synching. People are saying there were synching mic issues with mtv on camera but the performance does look lip synched at times.

Um yeah it was . Many male rappers was against his image at first and clowned. He has talked about that several times in interviews about having to earn respect because he was "the pretty boy" and not street. Mj also talked about how Janet can express her sexuality but he really couldn't do that in his music. People had issue with grabbing his crotch for so long. Alot of male artists have experienced sexuality issues in their career.

The fact is some people just don't like Chloe being sexual lol which is her right as a artist.
If Chloe wants to be sexy and do what she wants with her own body it's up to her.

Like I said you can do what you want but when you do there is a price to pay. This is nothing special. Adele just goes out and sing and she makes more money then all these black girls put together. She has almost as much money as Beyoncé. Beyoncé has several income streams, Adele has one “SINGING”! Chloe can sing Adele out of the studio but Adele “NEVER AND I DO MEAN NEVER GET HALF NAKED” Her brand is too big!

Adele is a British artist who would never have been as big in America if she was American.
The novelty of being British helped her International success.
Plus size singers in America rarely if ever get Adele's success. The labels won't push their music historically e.g... Lizzo is a exception.
Adele and Chloe are also very different as artists too lol.
      Their music is so different.
Can you imagine Adele dancing in a leotard to Rolling in the deep or Hello.
Like it just wouldn't work because it doesn't go along with the music.
Adeles singing image is old sould e g... Which is why her music videos actually have monochrone or black and white filters lol.
She is a 60s /70s musician in the 21st century.
The only thing Adele and Chloe have in common is they are both women and can sing.

    • @joshuarobertson8866
      @joshuarobertson8866 3 года назад

Inorder for a performance to suck you need to judge the vocal perfomance of a artist too beyond the aesthetics which in Chloe's case was actually really good. The vocal choices she was making on stage were very good and different from the studio recording.
Many white female artists have done this and dressed sexy before in live performances
      Madonna
      Lady Gaga
      Britney Spears
      Christina Aguilera
      Miley Cyrus
      Ariana Grande e.t.c...
Many white female artists do it too but black women get attacked disproportionately for it.
Doja Cat tonned it down for the perfomance but her music to me is way more sexualized than Chloe's one song as a whole. The song itself isn't overly sexual at all or crude. Dojas songs can go there and have
Chloe wasn't naked either she was wearing a corset leotard with fish net stalkings lol.The only part of her body you can argue was exposed were her legs and she was wearing flesh colored stockings.
That's Beyonce's standard look , other artists also wear too e.g... Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande e.t.c...

I agree you can do what you want but also remember there is a price to pay. She has Beyoncé vibes to her detriment why because Beyoncé has Amerie vibes, so should she send Amerie a check because I know Beyoncé needs to send Amerie a check. Because if Amerie was on a different label she would have had a bigger career
