    Averaging no more than 22 minutes or 11 points a game… playing on the same team as Wilt Chamberlain? Are you kidding? You call hanging in the NBA for this long a failure? Perspective, man. The man made a living out of playing basketball professionally and that time spent on NBA teams led to a Hall-of-Fame coaching career then executive and minority owner of an NBA team. Everything counts, just seeing old footage of Riley in a Laker uniform is surreal. That's stuff of legend, right there. Shouldn't be discounted in any way…

Sidney was a direct reflection of that team- hard working night in night out. And when they added Paul Pressley as their 'point forward' & Ricky Pierce- wow! But timing is a hell of a thing as the East was TOUGH as nails then & like that Knicks team, management should have pulled the trigger on an additional scorer to give those 76ers, Celtics, Pistons, etc... something else to deal with. The east was all most impossible to win you had to go through the Celtics the bad boy Pistons and Phil Jackson had a dream team with MJ & Scottie Pippen & the Bulls bench could beat you with out Jordan!!!!! Reggie Miller lead the Pacers and if you survived all that you had to go out west and face Magic and the Showtime Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Knicks had a team but they was going against the greatest of all times in there prime!!!!!!!☹️

  • @plainsimple244
    @plainsimple244 5 лет назад +8

    This was a great interview by Pat Riley... he allowed us to see what makes him tick and what he's all about which is why he's been able to succeed in his profession. I like how reflective he was in examining his decisions and I still say that the 1992 and 1993 Knicks made Pat Riley look terrible because those guys choked and 1994 and 1995 was worse because Riley isn't that type of a coach that chokes but those players were scared to win, yet they worked hard but scared of that championship pressure. As far as Miami, I do think his 1999 loss to New York was pretty-much a payback for that instigated fight in 1997 when the Knicks had Miami down and out and then 'it' happened... good for Miami bad for New York. I still think Miami should have been in the NBA Finals in 2005 and won back-to-back titles... the disgust in 2007 was sickening because those Miami Heat teams should have given more effort to Pat Riley. Pat Riley always succeeded, at times he didn't have the personnel that matched his ability to win yet all of his teams had Pat Riley's work-ethic aside from the 2007 Heat.

      Nba commissioner Stern that Knix fan homer and his ref Knix lavetta rigged it for the Knix Knats to win against the Heat. I even saw that playoff game back in 1999. Look at how it worked out for the Knix Knats since. It goes to show cheaters never win. As it is also happening to another knix knat homer fan nba commissioner Adam Silver as he is cursing his Knix Knats more for also doing it. Pat Riley and the Heat both got the last laugh in the end.
