I know it's probably part of the bit, but it's "The Shining" and was written by Mr. King after he stayed at the Stanely Hotel in Colorado; in the tourism off-season when it was technically closed, he and his wife found it while traveling in the mountains and while staying the night in the almost entirely empty property, he had a series of nightmares that ended up inspiring the book.
It's a beautiful old property and worth a tour if you ever enjoyed the book and/or the film/miniseries.
