    On the VL150 to override the cable problem you can mount the bracket not in vertical on the light stand, but in horizontal, you see there's a second hole to change 90° the orientation on the light stand; it's also useful if you have a large softbox and you need to tilt down the light, in that scenario the front tilt is reduced, and so solution is mounting the light with the bracket horizontally.

      Oh dude that's smart! I don't know why I always missed that hole or didn't think about it. You just opened my eyes haha can't believe I pointed that out.

      @@DaniDo until you "see it" you don't think about it, but the second you realize... 😜
      When I buy any kind of light, either strobes or led, I always check for the 90° mounting hole, for me it's a plus for a light, and when deciding what to buy, if specs and price are the same, that's where details like that become and important reason of choice.
      Especially when a light has a side hinged mounting bracket, single or double side, instead of a bottom bracket, it's really important to be able to mount it also horizontally, can totally change the usability; in your case, aiming the light at the ceiling, you'll have the cable socket and cable being free under the light, because with the horizontal bracket they're offset from the stand, and so you can aim at the ceiling with a wide range of movement withoutout any interference.

    I personally love the module built in and not hanging off the ballast. Been waiting for a strong powered b-colour. This looks like the one! Thanks for the video.

    Hi! Quick question I don't seem to find the answer for (including from Smallrig support). They state in the product page: "when temperature is too high the system activates self protection". Does self protection dim the lights, shuts them off completely or just bumps up the fan to noisier levels? Did you run into that in your usage of the light? Thanks!

      Hi there!
      Well to be honest I didn't faced that problem yet and I used the lights for some productions for 4-6h (with some small pauses in between when moving the setup). I mostly powered it very high about 80-100% and it didn't dim down or shut down automatically or so. And the fan noise also didn't get noticeable louder in my opinion.

    Thanks for the great video! Does the 450B plug into a regular residential 110V outlet, or does it require a larger 220V outlet? Thank you!

      Thanks though! Actually I'm not sure since I live here in Europe I didn't think about that. But I think SmallRig made it compatible for the US market as well. But I can ask someone at SmallRig to confirm that

    What light stand did you use for the 450B?

    • @DaniDo
      @DaniDo  5 месяцев назад

      I actually used one of the cheap Walimex WT-806 lightstands, but I wouldn't recommend that one because it breaks pretty easily. I use some without any branding on it, so I'm not sure which one's I'm using now, but they look similar to the Neewer ones on Amazon

      @@DaniDo Thanks for your response, do you think a light stand with a 5kg max payload can hold the 450B with a medium sized softbox or lantern?
