Awesome technique, thanks for this! What's probably also worth mentioning is that inside of the evolution options you can check the evolution to loop. This way you can animate the evolution over time (for example with the "time" expression) and have it loop after a certain point. Very handy if you're trying to design something like an organic background loop for motion design.
Very cool and smart tutorial. I think that it's great that you show the "boring" parts of the process because then it's most likely for errors/bugs/missed pickwips to happen. The trick with the brightness was awesome :D
Another fantastic, useful and hard to find elsewhere tutorial from You. Your explanations are always clear and to the point. Thank You very much, awaiting more :)
Great tutorial! I just tried to inverse adding lines conterside to those that were added via changing the expression to substraсt function. So like the whole "landscape" would be covered with lines. But failed. Even trying to add some -1 function to "index". Any idea? Would be glad for any help. Thanks
you have to keyframe any of the controls you made. such as: evolution, scale, etc. start at the beginning and put a keyframe for evolution then move to the end of your composition and change the evolution and put another keyframe and the topographic map should be animated
Yes, you can always link stuff like the Fractal Noise's Offset Turbulence or Scale to the amplitude of your music. All my audio visualization tutorials cover how to do this.
Let me know what you guys think! More quick tips similar to this one?
Great tutorial! Is there a way to have a 3D aspect to this effect in AE?

Great Tutorial! Do you know any ways to smooth the line edges so they aren't jagged, kinda like vector graphics?
Thank you so much!, It can be done using an image instead the noise map?
Yes, you can convert your image to black/white, crush and manipulate the image map, and do something similar!
he forgot to add the animation part :'(

Can it react in some way to audio?

I like these but they are random landscapes.
Nice tutorial, but all the "in here" "right here" etc, almost drove me crazy :P
Will keep that in mind in future tutorials. Thanks for the feedback!
@@CreativeDojo I hope it didn't come off as being an ass or trolling. I just got hung up on those things, but the rest was really good :)
dude seriously. i was close to losing it lol
Would anyone be willing to help me out with this? I dont have a copy of Ae and would be willing to pay for your time
