  • My son Gaven came over after school for an extra hand recording. I didn't quite understand what he was asking because I wasn't using bleach but for him not knowing much at all about my business he did well. Sorry there isn't much for you to see as I didn't want my son on the roof. This was the longest stretch of this roof cleaning, I had to connect 2-6ft wands together. Thanks for watching!

You're a lot braver than I am. I slipped on steps the other day with SH on them. I was skidding around for ten minutes trying to catch myself.

I have a roof similiar to that. Some low pitches which run into high pitch. What footwear are you using. Mine gets very slick when wet. I have trees around so it is covered in sap. Thanks

I'm wearing muck boots in this video. U want a shoe with vibram soles. It shouldn't be as slick once you've cleaned the area you're going to be walking. If u can't walk it then a lift or tying off to a harness is the next option which gets expensive

Roof doesn’t look oxidized but how does it work for you with oxidized roofs. Do you only soft wash it or use pressure on it as well

This roof was definitely oxidized under all that black mold lol. The other sides where the sun is on it all day obviously had more oxidation I just didn't film cleaning it. With oxidation, you're always going to have to use pressure. It's about the same process as cleaning wood surfaces. You have to have a steady perfect sweep in and out of the surface or you're going to mess it up and leave uneven marks. The key is to hold the wand perfectly the same distance and angle from the surface. And when u come in and out with your pass, it has to ease in and out so u never see a start or stopping point. I've been doing this so long it's just the way I clean everything, I get called to clean roofs a few weeks after a soft wash company comes in and just throws a ton of chlorine up there and leaves haha.

@@aquacleaning4994 have you looked into using cleansol bc for the oxidation, instead of using pressure to remove it?

@@BJMolette I have but if I'm having to pressure wash the building anyways, then I just clean it exactly like u see here. Now the blue, green, and red color roofs are a different story. They usually need to be cleaned like this and brushed and then repainted every 5 years or so in Florida. I always tell people to get unpainted metal if they're getting a new roof.
