  • We built the iconic 1959 Topps baseball set, and in this series, we’re going through every card to talk about the players, teams and people who made up major league baseball in 1959. Today, we’ll cover cards 300 through 309 in the set. We discuss Phillies Hall of Fame centefielder Richie Ashburn, one of the most prolific on-base machines of his era, as well as Jim "Junior" Gilliam, Sal Maglie, Norm Siebern, Earl Averill Jr., the Cubs team checklist and more.
