What if i bring a device like this one and scan after any code was been cleared.. will any show up as cleared and is there a log to check? Are cleared codes gone from any diagnostic tool? That could make buying a used care even more tricky if the seller has bad intentions..

Well i just tried v3.0 on my 98 w140 it didn't work ☹️ Update i found out my car did have the 38 pin plug also under the big black cover on passenger side engine compartment by the front side of shock mount i had to buy adapter and now it do work i dont really understand why Mercedes put both obd 2 and 38 pin socket but ok

Can the scanner make actuation of valves and pump air on Airmatic, or is reading only? I bought it already, but would be nice if I can operate Airmatic, that is what I have problem on my E class
You have to manually search through each module to locate any possible fault code,... rather then the system showing any faults detected upfront? When like you said you have 20+ modules to search, thats a bit of a negative if your havent pinpointed where any potential problems exist...
If you select the OBD Check menu, it displays the fault which is causing the Check Engine Light. However if you have multiple codes you can search manually through the various modules.

@@TECHNOCHAD it tells you the code straight away but only if you have a check engine light on, otherwise you have to laboriously go through every module one at a time which is ridiculous. It needs a software update from the dev team to immediately show post scan if there are any errors.

@@ambientsounds1416 It had the same level of functionality as my Autel Diag Link so didn't keep it. Turns out my Yaw sensor was fine but the ABS control module was bad. Got a used one on eBay (plug and play) and problems went away
Have you actually fixed the issue? clearing the code will be pointless unless the underlying issues being fixed otherwise the code or reappear again instantly
Complete failure on the Service Module on a 2015 Sprinter. Updated all the programs. Says my Vehicle does not support the scanner in the Service module. Scans well in the diagnostics module.

You need to diagnose what the actual issue is first, likely something with the Braking System. Take it to a garage or scan it (if you have a tool) to find out what is going on.

Will this scanner support older 1997 Mercedes Benz S420 (W140 Chassis). Is this model listed out of 56 available models? I understand you need to purchase 38 pin adapter to make it work. I bought iCarsoft MB II , but this scanner only supports my younger 2003 Mercedes Benz S430 (W220 Chassis)
@@nickplenzick2602 so I did the transmission oil fluid replacement without a reader. I had a temp gun, from Lowe’s. I filled the transmission with 5 liters, I disconnected the return line from the transmission cooler to the transmission. I had someone start the car while I was holding a container at the disconnected return line. The container was one of the transmission oil bottles, so I was draining 1 liter,stop the engine, pump 1 liter of clean fluid back in. I did this process several time( 4 times) until only clean fluid would come out from the cooler. This way I flushed the torque converter and cooler. You know you have the correct amount of fluid, the transmission is warm, when removing the plug there is just a small streak. If there nothing coming out, you need to add more. If it pours out on a solid steady stream than you have too much.
@@nickplenzick2602 right after the torque converter. I would drive the car around a bit because the transmission takes time to get warm. I prefer driving it instead of putting in drive/reverse and have my foot on the brake. That’s not good at all. I put my car in P even at driverhru’s
Does anyone know if an icarsoft can pin point which component failed in a heating system? My car won't blow hot air and from what i know it could be a few things. Would icarsoft be able to detect which component failed?

@@killerhertzmercedes Thank you for answering my question. I have an SLK 55 that went on hard limp mode after the battery drained. I disconnected it and charged it up and the car still had check engine light on and still in limp mode. I took it to an indy and all they did was to clear the codes and that took the car out of limp mode. I just don’t want to keep getting my car towed to the the shop every time I need a new battery just to get the car out of limp mode. Anyway I appreciate your answer.
Carly is too gimmicky, I don't want to pay a subscription just on the off chance I want my change some setting I hardly use ok you can take it from car to car but they'll charge for the privilege. Definitely the iCarSoft for the win if you intend to stay with MB.

This scanner is GREAT for checking ACTUAL miles VS what the odometer says. Most shady car sellers only adjust the odometer not the ECU mileage.

Need to replace the aux battery, located in the trunk. It’s a smaller battery dedicated to brake hold system.

You should be able to via the CR Max unit (check my review) - however they will of course return unless you fix what is causing the issue.

A quick Google suggests it wont work with a W140 im afraid :(
it does work with w140 but you need the carsoft 38 pin adapter

It can clear the code, but it wont fix what is causing the issue. address the issue or it will keep occuring.

I cleaned my adblue and did a stage 1.5 tune the best money spent
