What would be your answer to this question? 🤔👇
Tryhackme
both,, is almost the same..
Im agree with you
Udemy xD
@@majdaonline udemy aaah hahahahah sorry
The best thing i ever heard which i struggle a lot: information overload 🤝
Glad it was helpful!
same situation 🥴
Thanks!
Same situation. Perseverance is the only way through
That's helpful, I just finished the first year of my career in cybersecurity, and I will be jumping into pen-testing in 2024, but I wanted to be one step ahead before the course starts and have a little more practice.
If you don’t mind, could I ask you some questions about how exactly you got to this point in your career?
@@technoxvi8243 Sure
After i watched this video 4 weeks ago, i tried both as an beginner. I say start with THM to start with, and HTB if you want to challenge yourself.
But i preffer how the courses are written in HTB.
But HTB will let you head bang everything you see in your room, because as an beginner its really hard. And some questions are just werid, i hear that a lot.
I use THM trough the week after work, and in the weekends i head bang my desk with HTB 😂.
Do you specifically just mean HTB puzzles? Not the academy right?
Thank you for this because when I was using HTB I would sit there like “how did they come up with that answer.” I’d get so frustrated lol
@@ead3nblvck938 yeah, dont waste to much time on it. Just search it after some time, but try to understand the answer if you where not in the right direction.
Don't waste to many time on things like this, you cannot learn everything 100% anyways (okay some people do, but not as a starter).
Just go through it, look things up and make volume in work. Helped me alot. I had the same problem with learning python.
Then i just starting building things and learned more in one week then 12 weeks before.
Enjoy your progress!
HackTheBox does have academy now though, so this question is complicated a bit more.
I think THM is a little easier to get into, but the HackTheBox courses feel more thorough and professionally written.
that is a good take. HTB is a lot more niche when it comes to course writing
As a person starting at ground zero, I tried both. This man speaks the truth.
I didn't expect to find exactly what I needed from the first video I found on this topic. Awesome job 👍🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Tadi.. I have been around for a while now. Picking up what I can learn from everywhere I could. As you said, it becomes daunting with the overwhelmingly available resource pool to learn penetration testing. I got my THM subscriptions today to get a better access and use to the platform. Your video is quite detailing and I appreciate your insights. I am excited for me!
i'm excited for you as well lol, all the best
simple stuff for simple beginner like myself. Thanks for the opinion, i find it reasonable!
"I was stupid don't be stupid like me." You can literally see the regret on his face😂, great vid anyway.
Thanks man LOL, the regret is there
I'm Naruto !
I'm happy to have a confirmation of what i'm doing right now as a beginner. I had the same conclusion, not enough knowledge to do HTB and doing all the paths in THM then we will see.
Well Naruto, all the best in your journey!!
thank you!! out of all of this, your voice it's amazing for an asmr video
uhh thanks?
Thank you so much! I'm about to start my journey in cybersecurity and I have been looking for information about how and where I should start learning. You gave an answer to all of my questions by putting this short but informative video and answering the questions n the comment section. Keep up the good work mate, you've got yourself a new sub 👏
Glad it was helpful!
Are you self taught ?
@@PenTest3r Yes and so far I have found TryHackMe to be really helpful
@@mustafadawi369 Can I add you on that?
I’m also self taught since September and also on THM and HTB ( but I don’t work on that already )
( my ID’s are available on my profile if you want )
And how is it going?
Thanks - I’m glad I watched this. I’m wrapping up Linux Essentials and needed some fun for my next step. You put me in the right direction
Great to hear!
I don't know anything about hacking , I'm learning about cyber security. I'm going to follow step by step of your advice. Thanks bro. Let see how I do. Respect 🙏
I like the hack the box academy but without tryhackme I would just be laying on my keyboard. Great video thank you.
You know Hack the Box and Hack the Box Academy are different right? Hack the Box is very hands on.
You just confirmed what I already pretty much knew so I’ll master all the learning paths on THM first and move on from there. Love the Naruto references btw you got yourself a new subscribe 🔥👍
thanks, appreciate it!
Thanks for this video! Do you think that THM is a better starting point even when compared with HTB Academy? In your opinion, THM still has a better "beginner approach" then HTB-A?
PS: *not considering* the financial factor
Yes, definitely. I tried HTB academy at some point and I was just very confused. And you can' t exclude the financial factor, I ended dropping it because of the interdependencies in the modules that force you to end up paying
@@tadii Yeah, I started with HTBA and felt a little lost, especially at the Windows Fundamentals. Will give a try to THM today :)
Btw, you know how the internet works: you give love to the community, and community gives you love back. So a made 2 RUclips backgrounds for you, hope you enjoy (it's on the next comment, and of course, you don't need to use if you didn't enjoyed).
This was SUCH a good video. Exactly what I needed to hear, specially that hot take. Thanks
You're welcome!
the advice was much appreciated, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, sir. I love your hawk take!
man I love your video, thanks for the advice !
Thanks for watching!
Great as always
Thanks man
Helpful video, clear and concise, thank you!
you're welcome
THIS VIDEO IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
heyyyy thank you great video! saved me from buying bunch of courses from udemy lol definitely going with THM now and starting with the beginner path...could you tell me which order to take the rest of them since you have done them before? I'm pretty new to this and only have basic python knowledge, some networking and thats about it lol I will do all 8 but would appreciate if you suggest in what order go through them :) also the modules are bits and pieces from learning path or you studied them too?? thanks again and keep sharing your cyber security journey =)
I recommend you this order: Pre Security, Intro To Cyber, Complete Beginner, Cyber Defense, Web Fundamentals, Junior Penetration Tester, Offensive Penetration Tester then the Comptia one. The modules are just there to give structure on certain focus areas, so once you know what you like and what you don't like, you can take a look at those. All the best!
Hey man, I recently got my CRTO + OSCP and am on track for OSEP, if you want to learn the offensive side of things, do intro to cybersecurity > jr penetration tester > offensive pentesting > and then the red team path. No need to do the web and defense stuff since portswigger can teach the web stuff if needed
@@80572 cool thank you for sharing your experience. those learning path you mentioned would they get me ready for oscp or close to it? I also bought TCM security ethical hacking and Privilege Escalation courses. i really want to get there by end of march next year. I've looked at job market here in Australia theres lots of opportunities for someone holding oscp so I'm aiming to get there in next 6 month "hopefully"
@@Ben-xw5uo the THM Offensive Pentesting path is designed to be a nearly identical pathway to the OSCP. it even has a similar icon to hint that its OSCP oriented. the Red Teaming path also has some more advanced oscp topics like bypassing antivirus and stuff but in general everything up to the offensive pentesting path will prepare you extremely well for oscp. like i said tho the red teaming path goes into more advanced topics than the oscp in some ways too
@@Ben-xw5uo also the tcm privilege escalation course is great, i did it and from what ive seen its easily the best out there for the money
bro you was very helpful and straight to the point
Appreciate it
I love your channel!
Great explanation, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I can relate a lot, nice video and thanks
Thank you! Straight to the point
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing bro!!
Thanks for watching!

Quality content bro. Thank you
I appreciate that!
Great video! I appreciate it!
You seem like a super nice guy! Godbless brother; have a great day/night!🙏
I appreciate that
Thank you! That was a great video!
Glad you liked it!
Ty bro!! Nice video!
Glad it helped
Great video that Westbrook part was good lol … question I have trouble with is what laptop to buy or OS to start with and specs needed . And does dedicated GPU matter in the pursuit of coding / cyber security and all things .. intel vs AMD vs M1 is one better or best for compatibility using specific tools . currently have a 2018 MacBook with i5 and 8gb ram which are low specs and looking to get new laptop with better specs . Seems windows is the ideal and since it would be easier to access Linux via VM’s . But yes any recommendations welcome would be greatly appreciated!
i have a video about the best laptop for cybersecurity, you can search for it on my channel
in my opinion htb was a bit complicated when learning linux fundamentals since im a pure newbie so i prefer thm, ive tried it b4 and ij kinda easier
Bro you are amazing!
I appreciate that!
Bro made it simple, Thank you
Welcome 👍
Hey Tadi thanks alot for the info. ... Best practice KISS Keep It Simple and Learn ONE thing very well.
Thanks man was really confused now I can begin my journey.
DATTEBAYO!!!! 😂😂😂
Happy to help, LOL
Thank you bro defs subbing 👍

i tried both THM and HTB personally THM is more beginner friendly.
Thanks bro im so glad i came across your video.
Glad I could help

Haha thanks for the info! You are so hilarious 😂
Glad you enjoyed!
I try 2 and realize that your words are true
thank you su much I was so confused
The best answer
I just wanted to know if i should start with THM or HTB since both seem to be pretty good.
Thank you for making it easier.
Any time!
nice Video ! and correct!
Thank you!
Excellent information.
I just completed the room "Easy Peasy" Which was not so easy! I got 320 points out of 630 points even though I answered all the questions, in 3 hours. How are the points determined?
i actually have no clue, maybe it's a time vs number of flags found type of thing
great video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
You are really awesome
Thank you 😊
No problem
I have never tried TryHackMe but went straight to HacktheBox. My background is two years of college focusing in cybersecurity. HacktheBox can be very challenging even with a basic understanding of the concepts.
yeah go to THM then circle back
CC: try acne vs tag the box
I recognize Heath Adams from TCM, but, who are the others?
I have read some concerns about HTB or THM, it seems to not be safe and you are open for hackers to access your HOST.
i've never heard about that before
awesome video
Thanks!
@@tadii hope to learn from you
great video!!!!! straight to the point... concise and....im DEFINATELY NARUTO.
well good luck Naruto!
Do I have to go premium to finish the SOC 1 ?
Which path should I chose bro.... Pre security or intro to cyber security?plz help
Do all of them
@@tadii start with which one?
I will do all but which one first, also i highly appreciate that you replied to my comment, it means a lot.
I GOT the answer thanks, i read your reply to other comment and provided the path their......
Thanks again....

Thank you
Welcome!
Hey @tadi how is your hacking experience going? I see it’s been 2 years since you made this so how has your progress been?
I actually appreciate the follow up. I work as a pentester now - did a couple more certs and now working on all sorts of projects and research. Hope that answers your question
i start with the hack the box but i start the penetration test path in hack the box to get the foundation, is that good or no ?
yup, if that's via the academy then you're good to go. the academy wasn't really a thing when I recorded that video
@@tadii thank you sow much
@@tadii how can I earn some cubes to continue my learning path, they tell me i need 50 but i have 29 do you know any free way that I could do.
Thanks for the guidance 😊
No worries
What’s your advice on doing active machines on HTB? I’ve done multiple retired boxes but I would like to start ranking up and earning points. Seems like even the easy active machines are way harder now
The vetting machines go through nowadays is really strict. I'd say find people to tackle the machines with and eventually you'll get to a point where you can do it yourself, like I said it's an experience game
Give some tips to start as a roadmap...
do all the tryhackme learning paths😂
Dude tysm
No problem
Thanks Mate!
what about htb academy?
Can they help you to get a job, and maybe stating your own company?
job, maybe. starting your own company would be a long shot cause you need a tone of experience unless you're hiring from the get go
@tadii Good to know. Just trying to figure out of what to do to start my own company.
Thanks
How about HTB academy ?
Good option too, but it is not as cheap as other platforms
@@tadii student discount makes it 8$ a month up to tier 2 boxes.
Thxx
your link on the SUBMIT YOUR SETUP gave me a virus on my computer bro
uh i can't tell if this is a joke or nah lol
THM is cheaper as well, roughly 50% and it gives you unlimited "PWNBOX" connections, as opposed to 24hours/month that HTB offers for a similar value; that's what solidified the deal for me. I don't want to rush my remoting in time.
good point made there!
broh where you form
Have you seen Hack The Box Academy?
Yup, it lost me when I saw the prices
@@tadii Comparatively its really affordable compared to the competitors and they have updated certifications now that are really well done and becoming industry recognized. Also, many of the fundamental level modules are free.
You have a really annoying speech that you don't emphasize the end of words, and you whisper.
But thanks for the information
Hey man, thanks for the vid. I was wondering if there are purple team roles/jobs out there that require both offensive and defensive skills?
there are tones of them, i know most of them are engineering roles though
Tryhackme is fine. But before going for tryhackme I suggest watching some of those 15 hour cyber security videos, so as to get familiar with the tools. WHY? I got stuck on a path in thm where i was supposed to change a method from GET to POST, i tried using developer tools, it didn't work so i googled and found that i had to use burp suite (it had never been introduced to me) how was i supposed to use it then? I spent hours on that problem alone
Summary: before going for either, go in with knowledge of some tools and techniques, then anything you learn there will be a sort of reminder and you wont get easier frustrated all together. Also, the thm machines can also be very slow or unresponsive sometimes
fine take for sure. hackersploit has a bunch of good videos on his platform
whichs explanation is the easey?tryhackme explanation is not clear.
Yea but I don’t know if you know this but hackthebox has a similar training stuff like tryhackme that teaches the fundamentals and stuff
Code Red, Tryhackme, hackthebox, hack101??? In order or am I crazy?
Most of the modules in tryhackme are paid for, will the free ones give enough knowledge for a strong foundation?
pretty sure they will, but tryhackme is not as expensive when compared to other platforms so you should consider subscribing
I would say tryhackme as for beginners to learn from the scratch
Thank you
