- Never did I think that Kraft would launch vegan cheese products but here were are and we couldn't think of a better company for them to team up with than NotCo.
Today, we're trying the Kraft Vegan Mac & Cheese and the vegan cheese slices and letting you know our 100% honest opinion.

Vegan Cheezwiz! It had to be practically vegan to begin with, it was like plastic but so good!
The American slices taste EXACTLY like I remember Kraft singles tasting. LOVE them! The slices are thicker, so the texture is a tad different. Haven't had a chance to taste the provolone flavor or the mac and cheese, but now I'm excited to find them in stores near me!

I am so excited to try these. All the vegan boxed Mac & cheese is subpar (use intended!) in my opinion. Like you, whenever I taste a vegan product that is unusually non-vegan tasting I get scared that they mixed something up. I hope my ShopRite will carry these so I can finally make a GOOD grilled cheese sandwich! Thanks guys! :)

I tried both Mac & cheese and they taste SOOO good and exactly as I remember! Sooo good, I don’t taste the coconut flavor at all either, can’t wait to try the cheese slices!

Chris just got us these last week! I see that they use coconut. I always taste that. I still have to call on the boxed mac and cheese about cross-contamination. Most have cleaning protocols, and we trust certain brands.

Another fun video. Thank you for sharing. I am in the Texas Panhandle, and I haven't seen vegan Kraft products yet. I am a 58 year old female turning 59 in February. My husband is also 58. We are retired and both like staying home. The only time we socialize with others is visiting our adult children and their families. They live 4, 5, and 8 hours away. I am the same way about cheese. It depends on what it is as to what type of cheese I would use. Also, Velveeta is a Kraft product.

A little worried about the taste tests because there have been _very divided_ reactions online to the Kraft plant-based mac and cheese . . . Wow, seal of approval from you two! Your product reviews are the best I've ever watched, I always look forward to them! Based on how often I agree with your reviews on things I've also eaten, I know to trust your judgements. This is making me really, really want to try the slices in a grilled cheese. Speaking of, the way I make them is to drop a little bit of butter in the pan when hot (I love Country Crock's plant butter in stick form) and then move the sandwich up/down/side-to-side so that every surface gets buttered. When ready to flip, I take the sandwich off the pan entirely, drop more butter in, then do the same thing. It's perfect every time and you end up actually using less butter.

I saw another review this week on the cheddar mac and the reviewers hated it. I was shocked! They said the coconut oil powder taste was prominent. I’m so happy you guys loved it. and I really hope I can find it in Cali soon with the slices.
We didn't get that taste but some people could be more sensitive to coconut flavors

Haven't seen anyone reviewing the slices. Have seen several reviews of the Mac&Cheese and they were pretty negative - the thing I heard most often was that they were coconut forward. If they show up in our stores, will have to give it a try and see for myself. That gumminess is my main issue with Daiya, although it does melt well. If the Kraft is as good as you say, that would be exciting. So far, I actually prefer my own made from scratch vegan cheese to anything I have bought, not because it necessarily tastes just like dairy cheese, but because it has a lot of flavor and no aftertaste.
Have you tried Myokos or Chao?
@@terryo9105I refuse to try any Chao vegan cheese slices at all since I tried their frozen vegan mc and cheese at lease twice in my adult life and I found it to just taste nothing but salt. It tasted too salty for my taste, so I would assume the Chao vegan cheese slices to taste nothing but salt meaning it would taste too salty for my taste.
we liked the Chao slices more than the frozen

I think it really depends on if you’re introverted/extroverted, single/married, kids/ childfree. Some people also have midlife crisis at that age and I feel those people go out/stay out more.

There’s a tiny little aftertaste- but it’s still the best boxed version I’ve had. We don’t eat it often, but it’s nice to have when you get the craving!
I can't wait to try these, but I haven't seen them in Canada yet. Andrew is WRONG...you butter the outsides of your bread and put the cheese in the middle to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, LOL! Also, Velveeta is made by Kraft and it sounds like JUST Egg has its own facility? Not totally sure though.

I had to order mine on Amazon lol. I have tried the white shells so far. I had to tweak it a little but its definitely something I would buy again ( if I couldnt drive the hour to Target to get Goodles vegan) but typically I make my own.

This vegan cheese is surprisingly delicious to eat cold! I actually prefer it this way lol. The texture is like dairy cheese and the American has that Kraft smell! However, when I melted them, they didn't taste exactly like the dairy cheese to me. I do prefer the American if I had to choose, but that's because I cannot find the provolone yet! I bet I would like that one the most. My bf and parents all prefer the Cheddar lol.
When it comes to melting it, like on a burger, I still prefer FYH American or Provolone (I haven't found or tried their mozzarella slices). 🤷♀️ But eating cold sandwiches, I really like the Kraft American. The only other vegan cheese I could eat cold is FYH Pepper Jack! When cold (or melted), it legit tastes just like dairy pepper jack!! Have you tried thar one? I wish it was available near me, no one sells it anymore so I need to buy it online and pay even more money for a huge shipping charge for perishable items. 😒
Regarding Velveeta, the closest I have tasted to a vegan version is the Daiya Cheddar Style cheese packets. They're even in the aluminum type package like the boxed Velveeta. But, try to find just the boxes of the Daiya cheese packets, not the pasta. That gluten free pasta is gross! Sry gluten free people! If you can only find the boxes with the pasta, make it with real pasta. It makes a huge difference! I also add a tiny bit of olive oil and tiny chopped pieces of broccoli because I loved the Velveeta broccoli Mac and cheese! The Daiya version with real pasta, oil, and chopped broccoli is very close to Velveeta! I'm sure you've tested this one in the past, but try it my way and see what you think!
I cannot find the Kraft Mac and cheese yet, at least one store near me better get it! I cannot wait to hear your review on the new Daiya Oat mozzarella shreds! You should try the NotCo chicken patty if you already haven't! Omg they are so good! I haven't liked any plant based chicken patty besides MSF! I've been eating that brand for almost 30 years. The NotCo is the only one who has possibly surpassed them for me! Had them tonight, yum! My bf also agreed that these might be the best ones!
Finally, have you tried Good Planet cream cheese? Apparently this is only available at bagel shops or restaurants. Not many people have reviewed this, but every review I've heard or read has said it is the best vegan cream cheese and you cannot tell its vegan. I NEED to find this! Have you tried it?

@MakeItDairyFree I’m so glad Kraft is now making a vegan sliced cheese. I’ll definitely be trying it. Probably won’t be trying the box mac and cheese because I’m allergic to gluten and I don’t wanna take any chances And, I grew up making grilled cheese sandwiches with only the outside, buttered and cooked. But I’m definitely going to try it Andrew’s way the next time I make a grilled cheese sandwich.
I've been looking to see if any of my local stores have stocked either product and just found just the plant based Mac & Cheese at Albertson's - none of the slices. I've been vegan for 6 years so I still have memories of the original (not vegan) version as a child (low income family so mac & cheese showed up often) so I just had to make a box of the original. It is a good boxed mac & cheese, could i make a better version? probably but the memories it brought back? Yeah, those were awesome. Will I make it often, no but it definitely qualifies for me as something special to indulge in every now and then.
NOTco's burger is the best plant based burger i have ever tried better than the regular top two overly popular plant based burger brands and its thick and juicy like an expensive burger spot restaurant

I’m a 42 year old woman and I definitely agree that the party is in my house these days. And my homegirls are named Peace and Quiet. 😅
Also I would like to know if you have heard of azure standard? It is organic food and you can buy in bulk. But you do not have too. It does not have a membership but a semi truck brings in supplies once a month. And you go help unload truck and pick up your order. They sell a lot of things I feel you could get for vegan and specialty diets. Lots of fresh fruit or even frozen.

Thanks for reply. I have made comments on lots of RUclipsrs and nobody has ever replied back. Now azure. I have not used them, but we are in process of moving a 3 generation family in March. We are not vegan or have lots of allergies but are interested in eating healthy and better. So love you channel. While looking at azure I saw that they do have several allergies alternatives. And the way you cook from scratch just thought it might help. And if you did video. I would be interested in your opinion. I could write a book lol. But thanks again.

i've tried the slices and they were okay but i barely remember what real cheese tastes like so i'm really not picky when it comes to vegan cheeses. i miss the miyokos slices and shreds they were my favorite. i don't really eat mac and cheese but im curious and i want to try it but i can't find it anywhere!

Ermuhgah! A vegetarian could side by side these to see how close they are! I’m a vegetarian but I don’t eat eggs or drink milk which kind of defeats the purpose but I could deal with a dairy product if I make it with plant based milk even though it’s got dairy in it if that makes sense. But it could be a fun thing to try side by side while keeping it mostly vegan yet comparing next to the original. I’m babbling lol
