I went to school with, and knew Amanda. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was something I'll never forget. She was a good person. One of the kindest souls you'd ever meet, and a friend to everyone. I no longer live in Brownwood, but check to see if anything new has come of her case from time to time. Hopefully one day, we'll know what happened to my friend.

I will never forget. This is my hometown, I was about 8yrs old when Amanda was murdered. It rocked out small town. The girls weren't allowed to go outside by themselves for a long time, etc. My Dad was out of town training, and I remember my mom was so scared we went and stayed the night at my grandparents. There's a lot of speculations on these murders. I've heard several different things myself.
Just read today that they're pretty close to solving a 30+ year old unsolved murder of a local 15 year old girl. My great aunt was raped in murdered in her 70s in the 70s. Her case is listed as unsolved, but we know her murderer is also dead. Justice was a lot different back then.

Whenever I hear of the name "Amanda", I think of the old Boston song. It is always tragic when justice was never given for these victims. Thanks for giving these long ago unsolved murders a spotlight so these people aren't totally forgotten.

Lamont you have such compassion, such great respect for the deceased especially the unsolved cases, your reporting is excellent you continually tell the story so there is not a break , where you get lost in the story , in the storytelling of these heartbreaking cases truly professional. The rate of unsolved cold cases being solved due to advances in DNA tech has increased tremendously. Hopefully these unsolved cases are solved soon.
It was raining the day she was murdered. He left her by the side of the road, in the pouring rain. They’ve always said that getting dna was not possible because of this.

As you mentioned, 2 of them, most of us here know who did it but nothing was ever done....especially the Amanda Goodman case, which infuriates me still!! 😡
I just shared this video on Facebook and added my 2 cents, and also advised anyone with information to come forward and who to make contact with.

There was a murder here in NY and a child in Oregon who disappeared. Everyone knows the persons who killed each of these victims but no arrests were ever made.
I'm from here too. And I was so shook. When he said brownwood. This small little town. I'm a big fan of Lamont.

This is one of the saddest cases. So many unsolved murders in close proximity. Makes you wonder if they're connected. RIP Amanda.

It is very doubtful that it was a serial killer. The MOs are nothing alike. Mrs. Inlow interrupted a burglary. Mr. Laurales was killed ny someone he had a sexual relationship with. The only one that was truly unsolved is Amanda's murder.

Oh, that poor girl! She was 11 days older than me, for some reason that kicked me in the gut harder than I already was. May her murderer face judgment on the other side & I pray that she's at peace & with her mother!

I grew up with Sissy... we know exactly who did it. His old ass is living his best life in Illinois. Even the ADA who was in charge admitted that they know it was 100% him. And it wasn’t his first rodeo.

@@charlalar14 everyone called Amanda “Sissy”... her family was in the funky little “church”... you gave the pastor all your $$& and he paid your bills and gave you an allowance to live on. You weren’t supposed to engage with anyone who wasn’t in the church. What pastor said was like word of god.
Amanda’s mom would send her off with this dude for weeks at a time... he is slime. He was obsessed with little girls being sinless until they became “women” and that happened on their 13th birthday.
The police in Illinois, where he lived before and lives now, have said they suspect him on 2 crimes involving other young female parishioners. But, they won’t testify...
You got class and you tell the stories with compassion god bless you ,let find scumbags who did this to her ❤️

These unsolved murders just showed up on my Facebook a few days by a few friends from Brownwood, I'm originally from Brady Texas about 45 minutes from Brownwood, stories are just so sad. Glad to see you are back in Texas and hopefully no hailstorms stop you!

My name is Tammy I had a person murdered in my family over 30 years ago her name is a brandy Hutchins she's buried in a cemetery at meadow Creek in Clarksville Arkansas but she was found buried in a shallow grave in coal Hill this is what the killers did to her she was beaten raped they cut her hair her eye was gone she was only 14 years old when she was killed and her Killers have never been brought to Justice
somebody knows something. Cases like these are solved all the time decades later. The wheels of justice sometimes turns slowly but I think you will find resolution some time. Maybe if Lamont goes through Arkansas he could visit with you or the spot of the passing. Sorry for your loss. I know it still hurts now as the day you found out. The human spirit and soul are not defined by space and time.

The older murders are harder to solve without the cameras and forensic evidence they're able to get now. So sad, sounds like it showed evidence of previous sexual abuse. Yes, I agree with your opinion on this.

I think he was saying they couldn't conclude which type firearm it was because they couldn't find a bullet. But since it sounds like a through and through shot, the round is somewhere in that field near where she was found or in the car she was shot in.
None of these cases are unsolved on finding their killers!! You see they at one time will be in front of their Maker!!! God is Justice!!!! May they all Rest in Peace!!
