  • Here's an installation video on my 2007 vw jetta. these are LED lights that looks great day or night. its an easy install that really changes the look on your jetta. they are brighter and last longer than the oem tail lights.They look great and are an excellent safety feature. Unfortunately the lights came damaged so i had to send them back, but it doesn't take away from the installation.

    Real cool DIY videos. I got an 08 jetta like yours. I'm obsessed now.
    I'm a lot older than you. I maybe in a mid life crisis, but I'm having fun.
    Thanks again for all of your help!

    I was able to get my bulb out without doing that. You just need a good light. I have those LED ones from Harbor Freight with the magnet. I just lay the light down so it shines up on what I am working on. I do my stuff in side a garage that has old fliourecent lights that are due to be replaced. They are those 8 foot 110 watt ones and they are finally starting to fail. The may get replaced with LED some day soon. I do much of my car stuff in there because the doors are 18 feet wide and that leaves me plenty of room around the car.

    Compared to normal OEM tail lights, are these hard to install? Is there any extra wiring or anything like that required for these? Or is it just a simple plug in installation? Ive been thinking about buying a pair but wanted to know if they were difficult to install. Thank you.

      +Darion Davison There are some with different wiring applications, especially the ones with the rear fog light. Iv never had a problem with different wiring its always been like a plug n play. Im sure it wouldn't be too complicated to figure out its an easy installation.

    Hey, if you can help me put with this i really appreciate it. I purchased the lights from the link you provided and had them rewired to work with the US specs and the funny thing is that they work perfectly when the car is off, but when you put it in contact or turn the car on, something strange happens, when you turn on the parking lights the signal (amber) comes on as well and then when you step on the break the signal light comes on again and its steady with the break light. Is there something you had to do to make them work correctly or was it just plug and play for you. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I have a 06 with facotry tails, if I install the LEDS is there any programming or codes necessary or simply plug and play.

      +Andre James Iv had that problem on the previous led tail lights I was replacing. When I started the car the light would come on then I would tap on the brakes a couple of times then it would go away. Idk why these don't do it maybe the connection is loose

    Hi. Would you be able to tell me where you got the dark cherry ones and the brand. I just bought some smoked black led ones, which are supposedly Helix, but they seem incredivly cheaply made. They have scratches and dust on the inside of the housings, and scratches on the outside as well. Yours seem quite a bit nicer, but I can't really tell. Thanks for the help.

    • @RVrecordings
      @RVrecordings  8 лет назад

      +Cameron Leavitt Of course. I bought the tail lights from ecs tuning, and yes I also got the Helix ones, unfortunately it was the only brand that offered the tail lights in dark cherry. I would recommend going for the oem European vw/audi ones if you can find them in dark cherry or just get the standard cherry, I know they sell they standard cherry ones in stock right now. here is a set without the rear fog light www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Jetta_V--2.5/Lighting/Tail_Lights/ES1899329/.

      RVrecordings Thanks for your help! Yeah, I got the black Helix ones. I also had to send mine back for a less damaged pair around the edges. Other than cosmetically though, have they held up and functioned pretty well?

    • @RVrecordings
      @RVrecordings  8 лет назад

      +Cameron Leavitt So far they have held up great!
      I noticed some scuff marks on the edge of the inner tail light for some reason, but when its on the car its not noticeable. I had a pair of LED tails before this set and the lens on the inner tail lights where fogging up really bad. I thought it was normal sun damage, but it was actually from the cheap plastic on the light that was fading. The brand for those were ECS so the Helix are really good for the money. This is the exact set I bought www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Jetta_V--2.5/Lighting/Tail_Lights/ES2771470/. I hope I was able to help you.

    hi, Where did you buy the lights? i have regular halogen now in the back, and i want to install the LED's but the one im looking at on ebay they all say that you need to change wires around due to the fact that they are Euro specs. Are these from ebay as well and please let me know where did you buy them. Also ebay suggest that we install led resistors to avoid hyper flashing. If you could help i would appreciate it. Thank You very much. great Video.

    You sell the old tail light?

    • @RVrecordings
      @RVrecordings  8 лет назад

      +Gerardo Ferrera Naw I still have them. The outer tail lights had some LEDs out which made it look really bad. Im sure I could have took them somewhere to pop the lens open and replace them. I just figured instead of paying to get them fixed I could just put that money towards the dark cherry ones. The inner lights are still good though.
