I stopped it at the Worth boat ramp. I've never had my truck broken into, and I always felt safe while there. Its about 30miles one way from the ramp to downtown.
I put a backup camera in my truck that goes with the factory wiring little expensive but was worth it Bob's automotive in mirrors and more makes his own wiring to plug in to the existing wiring if you're interested works just like it shows on the videos can see the hitch perfect camera is in rear view mirror his email is rearviewmirrors@csinet.net website is www.bobsmirrors.com like I said a little expensive but it's worth it when hooking up to a trailer and backing up sorry for the long message if you have any questions let me know installation is very very simple
@@MrTomster1812 I launched at the ramp in Worth. That's a good question, If go based off of my average moving speed maybe somewhere between 70-90 miles. If I were to guestimate.
Hitchin Mitch all great info, thanks for that. Local here myself and looking to get something fun for the summer either a boat or jet ski. Would be nice to be able to take the river downtown and now have to deal with traffic that would come with launching downtown. Looking forward to your summer videos. Do you see much pedestrian boat traffic on that part of the river when it’s summer?
@@MrTomster1812 boats are definitely more family/ friend orientated. But I prefer jetskis because you can have more fun with them. Haven't been on the river to much in the last few years but it's usually a little more busy downtown but nothing like 55 during rush hour. We keep our boat in portage so I'll usually launch out there. However there are a few more ramps along the canal closer to the city so you don't burn up too much fuel. I'm looking forward to getting out on the lake this year but who knows when that'll be. Most ramps are closed right now. Lightfoot is out full force!

I put in at the worth boat ramp in Illinois. I'm sure there is a way you could from Wisconsin, but might take a while.

I was going to ask same question. I was going to trailer up from Atlanta. I was afraid of my truck getting broken into.

I'll have to look into that! I like keeping everything as factory looking as possible. A backup camera would definitely come in handy some days.
