I know many love the trampoline back for air circulation but when I tried the Jade, I found the load moved and swayed more than I liked. I also had trouble with straps rubbing and being just a tad too short despite proper sizing. I much prefer the body hugging style of the Maya. The shoulder straps are way more flexible and comfortable for me as well. The 25 liter pack fit like a glove. Waiting to try a 30 liter before deciding on size but I think I have found the style I need in the Maya.
I got the Maya 25 and had to return it. I got very sweaty and because the bag is big at the bottom but only has one set of compression straps in the middle, all my stuff was sinking at the bottom of the pack all the time. It was driving me nuts.
How an individual's body interacts with a pack will differ from person to person and with what layers are being worn. The primary ventilation is the air channel in the center, so there are parts of the pack that come in direct contact with the body, and the air channel could get filled with an outerwear layer's material.

Thanks for pointing out the trekking pole bottom loop. Didn’t realize it was there.
Glad to help!

Did you replace it with another pack?
I’m trying to decide between the Maya 25 and the Gregory Juno 24. I’ll be using the pack for long day hikes. Which do you recommend?
Those are the two packs I am trying to decide between, too. What did you decide and are you happy with your decision?
Do you get pretty sweaty in the back though?
