    Love both of them. Love you went with a purple scheme as most people i've seen go with the red.
    Though, the red with the copper look, instead of the normal silver you usually see is outstanding.
    The shield is aces, and I love using simple streaks to add wood grain to the weapons. I love learning little things like that. Thanks!

    Love your videos. I normally paint in the 3-layer "Dallimore" style which whilst enjoyable and detailed is very time-consuming. I'd been very hesitant about Contrast and Speedpaints prior to now but I think this video might have tipped me over the edge into buying some come payday.
    A little request, if I may - please could you consider doing a video on how to paint Goblin Town goblins quickly?

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Год назад

      Thank you very much!! Do you have a favourite so far?
      I did something similar where for many years id say 90% of projects had to be - base, layer, wash, highlight and that was just how i learned to do things - but these days there are a lot of paints that do different things and its just fun to experiment and try out a new method.
      I honestly thought that the contrast/Speed paint thing would be a novelty for me and i would use it once in a blue moon - but i tend to use them on a lot of projects one way or another these days!
      Oh yes id love to do Goblin town, i've got some interesting ideas for them!! Im hoping to find the Starter box on Ebay one day as i would like to collect them :)

    I've got a big pile of orcs from Pelennor Fields and have Osgiliath coming. Between those orcs and the Gondor soldiers, I've been considering if it might not be faster to spray using a silver metallic primer (like leadbelcher) then shading the armor and filling in the other colored areas.

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Год назад +1

      Nice that will be lots to get through for you :) And yes that is a great option too, i did the Minas Tirith using Gun Metal as the primer to start with as they are like 90% metallic and for the Morannons you could do them with the metal spray and do a combination of washes over that to darken down their armour to make it look "evil" looking so it looks a bit different from the Minas Tirith "cleaner" look
      Have a browse of these to see if it may help and give you some ideas :):)

      I found it on an online shop called Boontown metals, they havnt posted anything new for a while so im not 100% if they are still doing their thing - but their website is still up so i assume so! here is the link :)

      It is dry grass 2mm that i use :)
      The second one that was in the video is something that i have had in a pot for YEARS, it doesnt have a label, but more than likely it came from world war scenics

    Thanks for another great video, As someone who very new to painting, just a quick question about mediums. What is the difference between them, speedpaint, quickwash and normal medium and does it really matter which one you use??.

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Год назад +1

      Not a problem and happy to help where i can, i believe that the Speed Paint Medium (along with the Speedpaints) are resin based - so the properties are slightly different than that of the Quickshade medium you get in the range which is water based.
      The water based one will just make the Speedpaint run a it more - so you may as well just use clean diluted water to make them into a wash.
      As for the Warpaints Medium, i think that is resin based too - but im not sure how different that would be to the Speedpaint one as i don't think i have that medium.
      Im sure there must be something unique about it for them to make a differnt medium, but if you have it then give it a go to see what it does and let me know! :):)

    • @soupdragon6205
      @soupdragon6205 Год назад

      @@SwordsandBrushes Hi, thanks for the help, I use the speedpaint medium with my speedpaints, but I was told just to use Liquitex acrylic matt medium, as it is cheaper and just the same and so far I can't tell the difference, but as I said Very new to this.😀p.s. why did you go purple instead of a more traditional red and does it make a difference at a tournament, again thank you for your great videos and help.
